As broken as it would be, fights like V2 make me kinda want a multiplayer function for this game. Which, considering it's quake-like, isn't unreasonable but still feels like it might not work very well in actuality. But the vibes!
it would be cool if when you go into the v2 fight, v2 is acually another player that also went into the v2 fight, and to them you are v2. everytime you die it pairs you with another player
@@shoeofobama6091 Reasonable, if I needed it that bad I could suck it up and actually play Quake. I imagine answering that question constantly is grating.
My first encounter with V2 was actually traumatizing. It took me 104 attempts and a full hour to take this son of a bitch down. I haven't felt that kind of rage at a video game character in a very long time. It was absolutely agonizing, and i loved every single second of it. Best track in the game, and I absolutely love V2 to death. I was kind of sad to turn him into a stain in the pavement during the last level of greed, but if it wasn't the most satisfying thing in the world.
we might get to see V2 one last time, besides blood isnt actually real human blood, machines dont die if they lose a few liters of it (especially V2 which was designed to have good armor and endurance) so maybe he intentionally left his whiplash to V1 so that he could escape
@@ameadowofclovers Plus the kill counter incremented. I hear somewhere that the dev has only ever counted a kill when it is actually a kill, so beating Gabriel and V2's first encounter don't add kills because they didn't die then. Now the counter has incremented it's safe to say the guy's dead.
@@UltimaDoombotMK1 Additionally in the dev commentary stream hakita specifically mentioned that V2 was a character that wasnt supposed to play a main role in the game and the community was getting too attached to it, so in turn he quite simply killed off V2 to show that this is not its story. I have never been eviscerated so hard in a game. I'm currently still playing on violent and in v2's 2nd encounter and I have never had such an ass whooping before. This also goes for Gabriel. Who thought it was a great idea giving v2 a second health bar. Ngl one of the hardest bosses I've faced
@@yoshifan2334 obviously we will fight gabriel again but what about the first layer of every act, V2 was in limbo(1-4) and greed(4-4), gabriel is in the last layer of every act those being 3-2 and 6-2, so its more than likely we fight him one last time in 9-2, this leaves 7-4 every much open ended in terms of the boss, really hoping its a super buffed up swordsmachine where we take its sword(since the fourth arm is yellow)
i knew about v2 going in, what i was not expecting was for the first encounter to be so early in the game. i legit nearly had a stroke when i first heard clair de lune when i loaded into the level, i knew a total ass whopping was coming
The guitar and transition at the beginning is amazing and the way the guitar never leaves the track after the transition easily makes this one of my favorite ultrakill tracks
My tactic to beat him was to punch him endlessly…no joke, I needed to keep healing so I just launch him in the air by ground pounding or doing an uppercut (you punch close to an enemy over their head and shoould sending like 1 meter above the ground. If you hit right under your enemy while sliding, it can get even higher than by doing a ground pound) and then I do combos and if he escapes, I tracked him down.
Yeah my strat is just hold forward and snap shotgun and punch, and in the second encounter do the same thing but hit him with screw drivers every now and then
I like to think the two main instruments and progression represent the 2 models. With V2 being the guitar and V1 being the synth. 0:00 - 0:24 V2's main leitmotiff, the guitar comes in smooth and refined as expected of a newer model before bursting into unrelenting aggression 0:25 - 0:48 The synth (V1) kicks in, slowly building it's pace against the guitar's (V2) relentless aggression 0:49 - 1:12 The synth picks up speed to match the guitar and has a duel with the guitar at 0:56 as V1 begins to match V2. 1:13 - 1:43 The synth becomes the dominant instrument in the foreground, pushing the guitar behind it. V1 takes control here. To add insult to injury the guitar tries to challenge the synth from 1:28 - 1:35 only for the synth to outdo it with extra flourish from 1:36 - 1:43 1:44 - 2:00 Back to the start of the song with V2's leitmotiff but this time the synth (V1) is matching it every step of the way
My favorite thing about this track is that its title, "Versus" can be abbreviated to "Vs" which is the same way you'd write the plural of "V" (if you added an apostraphe) since, you know, it's a fight between two "V's" (V1 versus V2... V Vs V) Neat
I just bought Ultrakill today. I happened to just LOVE this game, with all the "Rip and Tear" only with bullets, no chainsaw. From literally absorbing blood (At least that's what I think happens) to gain your health back, to decimating freakish abominations from hell of all kind... But then, there's V2. A weapon of destruction and slaughter. When I first saw, fought, and killed V2, I couldn't to think he had a ego of sorts, he flaunts at V1 because better in every way since, well, he's V2, basically a better prototype of combat and skill compared to V1. For example when you place the first skull on one of the 3 pedestals and go back to the door to get the last 2, V2 suddenly slides in front of V1, boasting his better style. When you enter the boss arena, instead of V2 just standing in the middle of the place waiting for V1, he decides to make one hell of an entrance by bursting through the large glass and when he lands he creates a big shockwave to flex on his strength. Hell, when you throw a coin to try to ricochet to V2 during the battle he SHOOTS the coin to hit you instead. All in all, V2 is a beast, trying to prove a point to V1 that he's weak and would never make it in hell. However in the end, he proved nothing. Anyway that just what I thought of V2, I'm sure other people would think different, but I just wanted to express my love for V2. (Sorry if my wording was a bit odd btw.)
I think lore wise v1 is actually more capable in a fight on account of being developed for war, while v2 was developed during peace times as just a really elite security guard basically.
How to recognize an indie game: addictive gameplay great graphics (both in the trailers and in the game) small studio a small but committed fandom brilliant music

"damn, everybody's complaining about their first time with V2. surely he cant be that bad, im already getting pretty fucking amazing at this game" like 30 deaths later "ok nevermind"
ULTRAKILL SPOILERS AHEAD: V2's first encounter was literally one of the best bossfights i have ever played in ANY video game. EVER. it's also the first difficult boss that i genuinely enjoyed and didn't rage at. it was just that fun. i love how right before the fight begins, V2 elegantly greets itself with a bow before recklessly attacking you. the realization that V2's attacks were just like mine (albeit better) was definitely a revelation to say the least. it made me to think: "hmmmm if i were going up against me, what would i do?" so i tried to outplay it. i mean, it didn't work as well as i wanted it to, and i got my ass kicked like 25 times, but eventually victory was mine! it also helped that the soundtrack (THIS!!!!!) that played during this fight went insanely hard. i think i was sweating by the time i was finished with V2. onto the next encounter in greed, i was excited to see it again! and it greeted itself by cracking its knuckles(?) so yeah, i knew shit was going down. although this time around it took much less attempts. like, i'd say about 2-3 i think (screwdriver railcannon + attractor nailgun came in clutch). absolutely loved the section where you fight it while sliding down a wall! definitely a change in pace since we're not jumping, sliding, and dashing all the time. after the fight ended, i was pretty bummed out after V2 ended with a bloody splat. i was looking forward to seeing it again because my god i loved that character! brought me the most fun fights i've ever had since i first started playing games as a kid. you'll be missed, V2, my badass robotic doppelganger.

This one was a challenging one, still managed to beat it in a few tries, this was during my no breaks play through, so I was pretty damn good at aiming at this point
I think we can agree everyone was down bad in significantly different ways when making these bots. "Sir we are in a time if war" "give her thick thighs" "Her.. wait you gendered it?" "Did more than just that" After the war "Sir we need peacekeepers" "Got it and I know how you hated me being down bad during the v1 project so let's give HIM thick thighs this time" "Oh goo... him??"

He wasn't kidding when he said " These developers are insane " that was not inaccurate.
I liked Gabriel a bit more simply because it was so damned hard, took me 50 hours on normal although that's mostly cus im pretty new to boomer shooters lol

My first encounter with V2 was actually traumatizing. It took me 104 attempts and a full hour to take this son of a bitch down. I haven't felt that kind of rage at a video game character in a very long time. It was absolutely agonizing, and i loved every single second of it. Best track in the game, and I absolutely love V2 to death. we might get to see V2 one last time, besides blood isnt actually real human blood, machines dont die if they lose a few liters of it (especially V2 which was designed to have good armor and endurance) so maybe he intentionally left his whiplash to V1 so that he could escape

I like to think the two main instruments and progression represent the 2 models. With V2 being the guitar and V1 being the synth.
0:00 - 0:24
V2's main leitmotiff, the guitar comes in smooth and refined as expected of a newer model before bursting into unrelenting aggression
0:25 - 0:48
The synth (V1) kicks in, slowly building it's pace against the guitar's (V2) relentless aggression
0:49 - 1:12
The synth picks up speed to match the guitar and has a duel with the guitar at 0:56 as V1 begins to match V2.
1:13 - 1:43
The synth becomes the dominant instrument in the foreground, pushing the guitar behind it. V1 takes control here. To add insult to injury the guitar tries to challenge the synth from 1:28 - 1:35 only for the synth to outdo it with extra flourish from 1:36 - 1:43
1:44 - 2:00
Back to the start of the song with V2's leitmotiff but this time the synth (V1) is matching it every step of the way

@@UltimaDoombotMK1 good shit man
I just bought Ultrakill today.
This music is SO intense. Yo is this for the final boss?

ULTRAKILL SPOILERS AHEAD:
V2's first encounter was literally one of the best bossfights i have ever played in ANY video game. EVER. it's also the first difficult boss that i genuinely enjoyed and didn't rage at. it was just that fun. i love how right before the fight begins, V2 elegantly greets itself with a bow before recklessly attacking you. the realization that V2's attacks were just like mine (albeit better) was definitely a revelation to say the least. it made me to think: "hmmmm if i were going up against me, what would i do?" so i tried to outplay it. i mean, it didn't work as well as i wanted it to, and i got my ass kicked like 25 times, but eventually victory was mine! it also helped that the soundtrack (THIS!!!!!) that played during this fight went insanely hard. i think i was sweating by the time i was finished with V2.
onto the next encounter in greed, i was excited to see it again! and it greeted itself by cracking its knuckles(?) so yeah, i knew shit was going down. although this time around it took much less attempts. like, i'd say about 2-3 i think (screwdriver railcannon + attractor nailgun came in clutch). absolutely loved the section where you fight it while sliding down a wall! definitely a change in pace since we're not jumping, sliding, and dashing all the time. after the fight ended, i was pretty bummed out after V2 ended with a bloody splat. i was looking forward to seeing it again because my god i loved that character! brought me the most fun fights i've ever had since i first started playing games as a kid. you'll be missed, V2, my badass robotic doppelganger.
