As a marketer, I confirm that marketing bullshits.
I have sooooo much skincare products stacked everywhere in our HUGE bathroom... they are stacked on top of each other...stacked on three levels. When people come to visit us, they ask me if it's my job to sell skincare products 😂😂😂😂 I just laugh and have say it is all mine 😊😅
I never store skincare products I'm not using in my bathroom. It's better to store them in a place where their not exposed to heat or light.
Same! I've had some handy people come through, and they're like...? 😅 I just laugh.
It is very true-it is so easy to fall into the skincare rabbit hole. I have so many products now that I know are wasteful. It's time to reevaluate my "stock." Thanks, Kelly!
Go team empty! I love challenging myself to use things up, really motivates me to slim down the backstock and helps me slow down before buying more!
I might be here to go against the current, but I LOOOOOOVE my Long night routines. As you said, its my comfort time, the time I sort of forget about everything and helps me reset. Of course it might be complicated at first, but once you get the hang of it...❤❤❤
I loved everything you said! I have to admit I have waaaay more products than I need and some of them are not even suitable for my goals
Loved this video Kelly! My night skincare routine is the highlight of my day. My morning routine, however, is a major chore! I’m not a morning person 😂
I feel you! I'm no good in the AM!
I had the FOMO regarding skincare. And I bought so many products and I, of course, opened them all at the same time. When I went through my products, the majority of the products was expired and many where about to expire. I wasn't even half way through and had to throw away all the products, and so much money down the bin. I have been more mindfull about products I buy and see more to what my skin NEEDS more than what I WANT. I still have a lot of products, but they all have a purpose now. Also, I don't open up every product as soon as I get them. One products out - one product in.
But the skincare routines are my favorite times of the day. In the morning is my time to wake up, pamper myself and get my skin ready for the day. At night it's the wind down time, to reset and to repair the damage of the day. I love it!
It's so nice that you take the time to be the voice that neutralizes the craziness of life and skincare every ones in a while. I really apreciate that. Thank you for you ❤
You're so welcome, definitely try to keep it real here! ❤
This resonated to much with me! Timely reminders. Thank you, beautiful Kelly 🫶
You're so welcome, I'm happy it resonated, Barbara!💖
Such a wonderfully informative video! I have fell victim to marketing. I have many, many toners as well .I am now trying to pare down the number of products I have and be more mindful. Thank you so much Kelly. 💖💖
You're so welcome, I'm happy you enjoyed the video!
For me it's definitely using too much products. I tend to duplicate too much, both in terms of product category but also ingredients, as everything I use seems to have ingredients like niacinamide, glycerine, vitamin C derivatives and fermented ingredients etc. I tend to always buy stuff targeted at dry skin and hyperpigmentation, so that tends to happen
I am guilty of the same.
Niacinamide is so hard to avoid, there's been a few times when I realized it was in all my products!😅
It’s taken me five years to curate a skin care routine that doesn’t cause problems yet helps with what I’m working on.
Perfect timing of this video. I have been thinking about my routine and how I really need to reevaluate the products that I am using. It is just that there is so much out there and I don't want to miss out on a "holy grail". It really is a big rabbit hole that I have fallen into! I am retired therefore I have time to watch lots of videos and I see all the great products out there. I am trying to have a better plan.
It's hard, I sometimes have to step away from content because it's always tempting me!
I keep my daytime and nighttime routines in two separate baskets on my vanity. I do use multiple toners in each routine because I love toners, but while all of my toners target hydration, they each have different 'star' ingredient that target my skincare goals. I limit essences and serums to one each. Even if i could find one product to do ALL the things, I dont think I would change my routine because I love the ritual of applying all my 'potions.' Thanks for the reminder, Kelly, I love your content!
This is such a great video! I now go through a cycle by using this technique I learned from called project pan where you basically have a certain number of products that you use for a few months to try and finish till the end and then go through another round of it to prevent any product waste and it is a great method for me as I get to see how much skincare I have in my cabinet without actually needing to buy more!
Guilty as charged of a few of these issues. Glad I'm not alone 😅. Very helpful video, Kelly.
I definitely over purchased when I first got into k beauty. I allow myself one backup of a product type. It would be horrible if I did without while waiting weeks for delivery! 😂I do have multiple toners in my routine. I love them so much but am careful not to duplicate ingredients.
I only started proper skincare 7 months ago. I used to only look at the marketing of the products but nothing helped my acne breakouts and my oily face. So I started looking at the ingredients and properly researching them and what they actually do and identifying which ingredients i actually need. I've come a long way. Thankfully. Now I make sure to test a new product for at least a month before i even purchase a new one. I have to know what it does to my skin and how my skin reacts to it before i toss it or repurchase.
Such a great video!! I think purchasing skincare from one or two brands helps keep it a little simpler. I think getting into the marketing hype is so real! I've been trying to be more intentional on what I truly need.
Have been through numerous serums, toners, moisturisers…Too many influencers trying to influence into new, trending and effective products…Well 10% niacinamide pills on me like crazy, have been through multiple retinol/retinal, Tranexamic acid, peptides, vit c serums…I love products that cut off unnecessary steps…Currently using Isntree EX retinol serum as it contains Retinol, Bakuchiol, niacinamide, peptides so pretty much hits the nail on the head, my exfoliating routine consists of a BHA toner that is tried and tested, it’s cheap, easily accessible (U.K. made) and contains glycerin as well so don’t feel the needs to use extra serum afterwards, just moisturiser, AM as a treatment/hydration step I use one tried and tested ampoule toner that contains Centella, panthenol, willow bark extract, ceramides and HA and that’s that My skin doesn’t like diamethicone and Squalane as these ingredients seem to cause more breakouts Was a mission to find moisturisers with different types of emolients but I succeeded
I have niacinamide sensitivity and since pretty much everything have niacinamide in it these days, i find myself immediately turned off by the marketing poster the moment i saw niacinamide or b3 on it. I think it's a good thing that i actually don't spend more on unnecessary skincare due to niacinamide presence in it and just stick to my current routine that i know is working very well on my skin.
This was great!! I keep a list on my vanity to divide up my am and pm routine, so I don’t overuse skincare
That's a great idea!
I don't really fall for marketing from the companies.I do however fall for the products that gets good reviews by "skinfluencers" like you, James Welsh, No BS Beauty etc. I really believe you are honest if you review whether a 19:33 product is good or not.....and then I go buy 19:38 😂😂😂😂😂😂🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑 I can't help!!!!
This is me too!
I read reviews from normal people lol I find them more honest. I enjoy watching Kelly, Sarah from No BS Beauty and Alice....James Welsh... not so much, I find him fake and dishonest.
Great video Kelly!! 👏🏻
VERY useful advice! Really it's life advice 😍
So very well done and needed for the novice skin care user, people who watch regularly and the experts and influencers. Thank you for your time and investment in us. I appreciate it and needed to be reminded. I wish something like this would go viral!
I wish advice like this was more viral too!
This is the best video !!👏👏
Thanks Kelly😊
This is exactly where my sister & I are at right now!
Kelly it's a request you have covered many many skin care products.. pls i wish u cud do some haircare products how to use what is it good for..pls
Hey Kelly!! I really trust your reviews more than anything. Can you please review the tonymoly ceramide mochi toner. How is it different from isntree yam root vegan milk toner??
Hey! I haven't tried that one due to the amount of fragrance in it, which my skin is sensitive too, so I'm not able to compare! But if you have dry, sensitive skin you'll love the Isntree!
Only one hour ago I bought yet more skincare, even though I still have unopened toners, serums, cleansers to try out. I really need get a grip!
I feel this hard, definitely don't need more but here I am making a cart! 😂
@@KellyDriscoll 🤭🫣 We will get that grip one day! Maybe tomorrow...

I don't fall for the viral/trendy bs. It's marketing and I don't think people understand influencers get paid to promote products so of course their gonna rave about them. When it comes to skincare the best thing to do, is do your own research.
This morning my boss said “your skin is so bouncy and glassy.” I told her it’s getting lots of sleep. I didn’t want to say “cuz i spend $4k on my skincare per year.” I don’t use 10 step but just crazy expensive brand cuz my skin is a b****
That's amazing but also $$$, at least you found what works! 💖
