to explain the disappearing resonance: the resonance enhances the frequencies around the cutoff frequency, and at 12 'o clock the resonance frequency has gone into the very high frequencies (looking at the LPF), so you don't hear the effect of the resonance anymore in the lower frequencies (which now cover the entire audible spectrum). For the HPF it works in the opposite way: the resonance peak at 12 'o clock is subsonic and sweeps from the low inaudible frequencies throught the audible frequencies, etc.

That makes sense - thanks Pieter!

Yeah, it's exactly what I would expect from this type of filter. At 12:00 the filter is fully open, so there is no "resonance" per se.

Awesome! Was one of the highlights on Superbooth 22 for me, nice to see it out in the world :)

    Nice presentation….
You are sounding more confident in your delivery.
Not into Modular per se, but I always glean something from Sonicstate!

By turning dry/wet and feedback all the way down clears the buffer.

Great demonstration! This unit is very interesting. I liked the bass sound also. What did you used for the basselîne?

Thank you! I used the Make Noise XPO! Its stereo and works well with this.

Nice review, as I already have a few of the functions noted in MI plaits, would I be better off getting the Sqawk Dirty rather than doubling up on good reverb?

I bet no res at 12o clock because it is not filtering there. It crossfades between hi and low

Yes I think you are right.

Indeed. And it would be totally weird if it DIDN’T work the way it does. Makes total sense.

Love the sound of that filter!

Thanks for the awesome review on this one. I feel like this thing is a hell of a swiss army knife to have up in the rack, even without some of the 'performance' features you mentioned.
(PS: Mind if I ask what cases you have mounted up on the wall? I've been looking at doing something similar for my system but have yet to find an easy solution beyond just building my own)

Great review! Super creative module for sound design.

Great functionality, but poor design for performance. Once that's all patched it will be hard to get to the knobs. All the knobs on top and input/output on the bottom would have been a more functional design. But, I might get it anyway.

£385 I dont know much about Euro Rack but that seems very expensive to Me?

    • @matthsmatthsmatths

I guess for a delay, reverb, multi-mode filtering, compression with sidechain, distortion and the ability to re-order effects with a touch of a button, I would say thats well priced.

@@matthsmatthsmatths You can tell I'm not a Euro Rack guy, guess I'm used to the abundance in software.

@@HOLLASOUNDS I understand. To me, it’s a bit like the difference between playing with a CAD program on a computer, and building a house with real materials. The cost is incomparable.

can you get one without Andrew's name on it?

    • @ritec
      @ritec 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Pretty weird huh, I imagine alternative faceplates without his name will be designed promptly. Not sure why they decided to do that.

the radical Technologies Effexx 1701 which exactly does the same things and much more and ia available for quite some time impressed me more in sound and functions!!!

At 32 HP one would hope that it does more, but with so few modulation inputs, and almost no one using it or even talking about it across five years, it is doubtful. Out of curiosity, do you own one?
