I designed myself a similar type harness as an impromptu gimbal to make a subjective video with. It worked pretty well considering how fast I had to just put something together that would work out of what I had on hand in the way of straps and various small bags. I did get a peculiar lower mid back to bikini dimples rash. It may just be my own situation with hives and rashes thing. I understand the exploration factor of beginning to just build a thing out of curiosity and need from the resources you have, as you go along.
I would love to have an audio described demo. I'm also wondering about how well it really works doing all processing o'n device and what battery life is like
I would say that using a cane as a sword is great especially when it is a cane sword lol. I wish I had thought of this before the interview but I wanted to know if it would interfere with using it if you wore a bag, purse, or backpack while using it. I was not expecting those bloopers and I loved it! Lol. Also, like you said I would at least be willing to give it a try. 💚
I find that many people who are low vision or visually impaired have less success with echolocation than those with less usable vision. Not always, but more vision can sometimes cloud the experience and make it more confusing. Not everyone can use echolocation to the extent or skill that others can. And it is not always the solution.
Hi Carrie, This product is a scam. Those of us who have bought one have had so many broken promises over a couple of years. I can share more and describe more if you wish.
@@carrieonaccessibility I was one of the people who actually had the device early on. Very many promises were made that have not been up to this point ever been addressed. For instance, they promised us a straight line navigation mode where it would let you know when you're going in a straight line. There was also a feature which was supposed to tell you when there were kerbs or steps but the lower senses were still being recommended not to be turned on. Finally, there was another feature whereby if you would stay still for a certain amount of time it would stop conserving battery. That feature has also not been added. There was also supposed to be an easier way to update your ARA that has not been implemented. So many promises were given and none of them have been delivered upon. I have emailed them several times and gotten the same response that we will be working on these things and they haven't done. It's extremely disappointing and there's even more I could say on this subject
its not something i would want to wear , i guess it needs to be on top of everything sensors cant becovered. im hoping for this apple earbud with camera but that might be some time still .. but not so invasive just an earbud, its like you said already have a backpack .. greets mak :)

That sounds interesting. I have an action cam that you can put around your neck.
Sounds great to me! I would definitely use it. I will take all the assistive technology I can get.
Hmm. I love your attitude, but I hope it works well as they promise!

LOL. of course you would say that. Not great in a classroom though.
@@carrieonaccessibility that depends on the situation. What if you are fighting an enemy in the classroom? Lol
@ToughBeifong because that is so likely and so often the case. Lol
@@carrieonaccessibility you never know. It happens all the times in the stories that I read lol
Why is the website it doesn't support Cambodia country? I click the website it's show nothing in my browser.
I'm not sure. :( I would follow up with the company, I have no control over their compatibility.
@@carrieonaccessibility please reach out to their company that the website it's not support Cambodia country.
41:19 If you can't make the clicking sounds required for echolocation, how about using a device to do it for you?

I bought one when they first came out and I do not use it. It sits in a box
That's disappointing.... I've never tried it, but I'm all for new tech. Hopefully, it improves or something better comes along.
Oh cool
Thanks! :D
@@carrieonaccessibility no problem
This product is very, very limited, and the company is scamming users. Happy to talk about my experiences if you're interested.
How is it a scam? What do you mean?

Haha. It would be cool if it was just a necklace! Imagine that. lol.
They should not call it a harness. That has negative connotations.
I agree with you, but I used what they had on the website. :)
