I ordered mine Feb. 22nd and I have been told that it will Now be the middle of June before it will be shipped. I think people that order now will get theirs probably by next year if their lucky! I don't think that's the right way to do business. By the middle of June they will tell me it will be another 2 month before they will ship. Very disappointed in this company!
Hope you'll enjoy waiting 6 months or more to get it unless your a TH-cam celebrity.

Good luck - I just got mine yesterday after 6 months. I like the tones so far but really too soon to evaluate it honestly.
Mine took about 4 months, and I suspect they speeded it up, since I did so much complaining on Phillip McKnight getting one free out of the clear blue to review before I got mine ordered in DEC 2019 as a paying customer, supposed to come in JAN, but came in late MAY 2020, even after one set of false email notifications for a couple weeks earlier than that! In addition to about three emails before continually moving the shipping date back with several excuses. Frustrating, be patient.
That's absolutely the best review of my SPARK. I have a lot to learn.

I got my Spark yesterday (and Yes! They are finally catching up with the orders). Frankly, not being extremely well versed in the universe of tones and pedals, I was a little at sea when it came to manipulating those features. This video helped immeasurably. Thanks! Also, the instructions that come with the unit are scanty, to say the least. This video helps a whole lot with understanding the various controls.

Perhaps positive grid should compensate those who pre-ordered last year and didn't receive their order anytime close to the stated delivery date.
I agree! I've seen warnings on preorder musical instruments especially prepaying.
They compensated me for delivery inconvenience, by giving my free access to their Bias FX 2 software. Which is normally $100. I would check your email, they sent me an email with a code for free access a couple days ago.

Yeah good luck people. I ordered mine early November and just threw in the towel when they told me now as late as April. And my order was prior to another 20,000 units they sold. It appears the only ones getting these are TH-camrs. Meanwhile PG is sitting on north of $7million of preorder money and nobody other than paid reviewers have them. I suspect this may bankrupt PG and when that happens those preorder people will be shit out of luck. Meanwhile some people at PG are living large off of the profits. What a shit show.
Dang that sucks...ordered mine late August 2020 got it in 10 days. Pretty cool, fun to play with...on my 1st weeks so still learning it. Good luck

FINALLY got mine and was a bit underwhelmed with the tone. Part of me wishes I’d just gotten a Katana MKII 50 for the same price, but I’ll keep playing with it, bc on paper it’s perfect.
I just got mine and it seems that the presets are set with quite a bit of bass. I tweaked a few things and it sounds a lot better. I have a line 6 amplifi 30 which to me was the original idea of this. I can't say that the spark is all that much better tone wise but it does seem like the line 6 has an advantage with the signal path options. I do like the spark look and and the backing tracks etc.
I am not going to buy one.
Thanks so much for doing this video, I am a 67 year crap guitar player, but have a Marshall Accoustic amp I bought when I bought my Martin guitar, ,its 100 watt, weighs a ton and I just dont use it, this looks like it would be idea for accoustic and my electric guitar, looks incredibly versatile, think I will see my accoustic amp a dmy little electric amp, and buy one of these, I also have a set of TDK 9 roland electric drums, with it's own amp that I bought, maybe the drums would play through this too, one happy old man you have made me sir, and I thank you for your time and expertise, from Garry in the UK

I agree that the amp sounds 'boxy' when playing blue tooth tracks.
Guitars sound pretty good through it, EXCEPT, my brand new Taylor 814 CE acoustic which has a really bad 60 htz hum....Other acoustics using L.R. Baggs or Fishman pickups on my guitars don't create the hum. Just sayin'....
An update;
Complaint to Positive Grid did pay off as they sent two new power supplies which DID alleviate the hum issue on my Taylor. External Power Supply is a tad cheesy and they should have been built in to the Spark amplifier with just a line cord. Otherwise, these Spark amps do sound pretty good.

Its amazing I see a new youtuber everyday with a free spark amp but they cant even ship one out to a paying customer that purchased one in october. Terrible business practices. Not saying you didnt buy yours but if you didnt just shows positive grids true colors.

Dan Bires I agree I am still waiting for mine that was supposed to be delivered in February. The company needs to be honest with their paying customers. They have not been truthful to the paying customer. If they are having production problems then tell us. The company needs to stop sending the amp to TH-camrs and send it to paying customers. Has any paying customer received their amp? I would like to know.

Alkatross Good luck on getting your amp. You can’t even call them. They took our money and were not truthful about delivery. Even before the virus hit they still had not delivered to those that had ordered first. They just give the virus as their excuse. I strongly suggest to this company to stop sending units to TH-camrs because it is making us very angry seeing them open a new unit like that. If they keep on doing this they will start to get bad reviews about how this company operates.

I dunno, you don't seem convinced. At the end of the day, Marshall brought out the Code and even the 100 watt version is only a little more expensive, but with a hand held device you have the option of saving 200 different presets with in built effects.
Every guitarist has pedals hanging around, and with the Code (100) you can also stick em in front or even in the effects loop in any position you want.
Did you ever review the Marshall Code 100 Combo? If not, spend some time messing about with one, it's a versatile
little bugger.
He has to be careful, too honest and Positive Grid and maybe others will stop sending stuff. By 2021 when average people can actually buy one and we will have completely honest reviews nobody will be watching reviews/demos on the spark

Ha, Ha Ha! By the time PG actually delivers? Line 6 and a host of other manufacturers will have developed a far SUPERIOR product with MORE features at a better price and will ACTUALLY deliver!

My spark has arrived! I am not a youtuber or influencer or anyone important on the interwebs. I pre-ordered in November. The unit came with a sweet carrying case too. I must say I LOVE my Spark. It is great for all skill levels and sooo much fun!!! #Ampofthefuture
Great vid - do you have a video that shows how this amp can interface with a DAW (I guess presonis software?) to record multi track using the app / spark amp? I didn't receive my amp yet, but when i do, i am interested using it primarily discover new and easy ways to record... Any info on this would be appreciated... thanks

Just a friendly suggestion - I found it a little distracting when you get too close to the mic that it distorts and we get a lot of plosives happening - maybe the use of a headset mic or lavaliere mic would help (something you might want to look at ) - otherwise a very good review.
I wish I had something like this when I started learning. All I had was a cheap Fender frontman. This amp would've been so inspiring!

im gonna guess mine isnt going to be coming until may, yesterday they said early bird and super early bird packs are going to be arriving somewhere in march, but they start shipping february, im guessing the players special wont start shipping until april and then it will be arriving for everyone that ordered the players special deal in may, which is absolutely devastating since that is a very very long time to wait
Get your money back !! They are only sending out freebies to "influencers" this demonstrator has 64.k subscribers This means that they have hardly any to send to purchasers and they told me thay will not be using the retail network -( not going in shops) Some of the features are extras you have to pay for. None of the demonstrators tell you all of it !!

I already did some research on this amp back before the Namm 2020 show came out in January, they were already selling this amp faster than it could be produced, because you had to preorder one and pay for it before they had enough available to ship out to all their customers. It still looks the same, preorder ahead of time, then wait until you can get your order, so no wonder why this product won awards at the Namm show.
Anyways great review, well done, a guy that can play like you with your years of experiance could definitaley even sell this amp faster.

@dphotos ...yep. I ordered mine like Nov 8th or something and it finally came in on Tuesday of this week. However, I did get several emails about the production delays, so I was resigned to “I’ll get it when I get it” ... I’ve done several Kickstarters before and trust me, this is just how it rolls. Always great ideas by people who are not typically business saavy and they waaaaaayyy under-estimate what it takes to produce their product at scale and jump through all the hurdles of working with overseas mfgs (I’ve done that personally and unless you speak Chinese or whatever, it’s really easy to mis-communicate and set your progress back a month). Not making excuses, but I think if you buy anything on Kickstarter, you just have to figure it’s going to ship late ... sometimes a lot late. That said, I just adjust my expectations accordingly. Disclaimer: The preceding is my opinion based on my experience, your mileage may vary.
Fraser Marsden Photography So far I love it. The app works great and its powerful and fills my living room pretty full with sound. I love all the different settings you can download and play around with. I have a Line6 multi-effects pedal which has some similar functionality, but for home use, it is a pain to setup and connect to an amp etc and the app does not always connect or stay connected. So far, the Spark app seems flawless. I have only scratched the surface though. Def worth the coin for a great practice amp. IMHO

@@Coppercustomz I had Doug Marks Metal Method on Cassette Tape & Booklet ran off on a copy mach back in the day haha. That taught me a LOT it but it takes years to implement the knowledge in your playing creating your style .. seeing someone play a lick / riff makes it so much easier.
@@Coppercustomz The TABS that you could find were wrong most the time. I.e. I figured out how to play Hells Bells on my own then got a Gtr mag that had it tabbed out very hard to play…a few years later Angus showed how he wrote it & plays it Angus played it just like i had learned on my own. They showed Angus the TABs for Hells Bells & he laughed & said "thats probably the right way but this is how i play it lol".

I ordered mine on November 2 of last year and am STILL waiting for it to be shipped. As much as I like Jamup and Bias / Bias FX - and I've been using them for over 5 years - Positive Grid has a lot to answer for in this botched product rollout. To say communication has been spotty and less than enlightening is the understatement of this new decade.
What do they have a lot to answer for? Demand for a product has far and away exceeded supply of said product. I have purchased and use every product that Positive Grid has put out as it relates to amp simulation, effects and recording. They are all great products. Use them constantly. Now they are offering more than a download so for them the game has changed. Personally I’d rather wait a couple of months and get something that is going to work. You can check their website for updates on shipping.
@@Cigarsnguitars - I understand you. That, however, does not absolve them of responsibility. I was told my Spark would ship in December, then it was January, then it was pushed to end of February. Now I'm hearing it may be late March.
Because a pre-order was more popular than predicted (which is likely garbage, but whatever), doesn't mean shipping dates should get pushed back... you start making the product, then you start shipping them in the order in which they were purchased. If more people order, THEY should be informed that they won't receive theirs until such and such a date. But if you knew, based on how many were going to be made in the initial run, when they would be shipped, and I am in that early group, then my shipping date should not need to be pushed back.
No, PG are catching hell for this rollout, and they deserve it. I'm not entirely surprised, however. Positive Grid has a history of poor communication and for not delivering what customers want... I.E. Bias FX on the iPhone, with the lame excuse that the U.I would have to be redesigned and that would be near impossible for them. I, too, have been using PG products for a long time - over five years, in fact. This situation is nothing new from the company. But it is disappointing.
EDIT. This is not their first piece of hardware... they have lunchbox amps, mini-amps, and pedals... they've been making hardware for years, so they should know how it works.

Have mine since a few days and don't like the sound. Too much and muddy bass, not much highs... all mids and sounds annoying when turning up louder. Also annoying is the noise gate that kicks in hard (but is needed because the amp is very noisy on gain tones, even on quiet crunch sounds) and I cannot see the 40W.
I also have an early v1 Yamaha THR10 and it sounds way better (guitars and as boom box) and is as loud as the 40W Spark... of course it has nothing of the other bells and whistles.
So, most people on TH-cam comment that it's best use is that of a practice amp. Was wondering why not bring it to your bar gig and throw the house mic in front of it. No?
Got mine 2 days ago, it comes with an ungrounded power supply?!? The humming and unwanted noise is stunning. Over a 90 day wait for an amp with great features and an ungrounded power supply. Who does that? BTW customer service has not responded to my request to return this humming machine. Not sure how all of these Spark demonstrators pull off their videos with straight faces?

Seems like a cool alternative. But unfortunately nobody demonstrates the bass and acoustic sound. And since you have to wait forever, I'm already turned off.
rubbish amp, pathetic depth and low and behold as predicted they want people to buy software updates. junk, waste of cash. used mine for 2 hours and got bored. avoid this like the plague
Kind of yes and no for me!!...missing a 1/4'' out / and or / XLR out / and or external speaker send...and that jam-record thing is just a simple 4 bars structure that you can record and play back?...what to do with that?...always messing around with modeling trying to find the right tone out of so many options?...wireless bluetooth open all the time?...playing over other people's songs?...not sure I want to get into all of that!!...but great video!!...but hey, only fools don't change their mind!!...
Shipping seems to have finally caught up. I ordered mine mid July, it came today. Not only that, they actually sent me an email firstly apologizing for any previous delay, then telling me my amp was handed off to Fedex (or local distributor) So, it appears, amps are being shipped much quicker than previously. Hope this helps if anybody is thinking of ordering one.

Hi, I have a Fender tube amp which I love to play, but it's always hectic to plug effects, pedals, cables, power supplies, etc, when children are around. This amp looks like a great solution, and the fact that can be used as bass amp, even better... My question is if I switch to this amp, am I going to sacrifice the smooth and natural sound of my tube amp?
I thought that this sounded like a great practice amp, but with all the uncertainty around when you actually get the damn thing I went ahead with the Boss 100 MKII. It arrives today. And I bought it on Amazon two days ago.....
I have this amp and love it. I wish it would keep your rhythm guitar when you lay down your own track. It just keeps the bass and drums, unless I overlooked it, but awesome feature anyway.
I clicked on this thinking the Spark was final;ly released, just checked Positive grid and and it's still Pre-release. I wish they would stop trying to build hype on these, too many "reviews" and not seeing anythingon when they will be available
You mean to say this amp is not available yet. I want to purchase this amp. I have the VIP1 which I bought 3 years ago but it's not stereo.
@@phillipholt6005 Reading through comments there are people that pre-ordered in October and still waiting, so it could be a while until they are in stores or even shipped if you pre-order today.
More importantly we have no reviews from anyone that spent their own money to buy one of these, everything online about the Spark is paid advertising or at least risking losing any further relationship with Positive Grid if they say anything critical. TH-camrs want to have the latest gear for demos/reviews to maintain clicks so nobody wants to give a bad review and lose out
Do you think it's worth the wait? I don't know any amp is in this league except for the vip series
The blutooth function looks limited to the Spark amp, it probably needs USB to connect with any other Poaitive Grid software.
I already have an iRig Micro amp that can do that and also allows me to attach my speaker cab. It connects to PC or iPad so I have home and portable options
If you want the best options for amp/fx sims better to get an interface and studio monitors then pick and mix software as much as you like
I went to their website and they are saying that there is no issues. Please try that and let me know what your opinion if it's BS.
It actually seems easier to start a youtube channel, build up a few subscribers and get PG to send you one out rather than actually buying one.

What sold me about your review is the along the lines of just as a separate Bluetooth speaker is sounds amazing. Funny, as I have been looking for a BT speaker for my garage and this may be the one. Plus I get the added bonus of having a guitar amp too.

I feel like I’m the only guy that had a bad experience with buying from them. It started with a misspelled email followed by a series of automated ticket numbers followed by inability of my amp’s serial number to be recognized to gain access online.
I’m sure they are great and trying to catch up. I am just preferring simplicity. There is no phone number just a series of emails.

great, great amp... for four months. after that it started humming like crazy. customer service is useless. now i find myself with an amp I raved about, that doesn't work.

Nice BUT!!!!! A video on How to set the amp up not how it works. Some of us are very new to amps, Bluetooth etc. How does the iPad hook to it etc. Lots of how it works videos. Thumbs DOWN on this one there are better how it works videos.
How about this for a thought PG? How about sending the units to your customers that PAID money for one and have been waiting for months instead of all these TH-camrs. Total Shitshow !

I hope they haven’t feature-bloated it out of the realm of viability. I love my Katana Mini, but my Katana Air app and the way it interacts with the amp is not user friendly so I mostly just set it and forget it. I really hope the supporting app experience is good on the Spark.

As much as I like the autochords feature, it does not work well at all for Devin Townsend music. Also, the option to use my Apple music makes no sense. It often grabs the live version from youtube even though the studio version is in my iTunes library.

Tired of waiting for this thing! I got my money back and bought a Boss Katana MKII 50for the same price.
I kinda wish it had more features like Rocksmith. Like if you pick a song it could suggest a matching tone. I also want something to learn scales. Give me a backing track and show me where on the fretboard I can play a scale so I can jam.

People say it is a dark sounding amp and it certainly sounds like it. Don't know why they don't include a basic EQ pedal?
