One of the best reviews so far. I have had my spark for a couple months and learned some new cool stuff. By the way I do also play my bass through it. For some reason on the bass setting the volume is super low compared to guitar. You have to turn up the gain knob to get any volume, but then it adds gain. All in all the bass tone is good and yes you can reverb and all that stuff. Thanks for everything.

The latency would be fixed if you don’t use it for the sound output of the laptop. The spark will play what you play and the audio from ableton is being then played back out of the amp. Maybe just mute the sound from your laptop. Ableton is recording it proper your laptop is then using the amp as its speaker so the latency comes from the processing speed of you computer. We have ours hooked up without that problem on our Mac Book and our surface 2 as long as the computer isn’t using the amp as it’s speaker we have no issue with that delay.

I have this amp as well, for the interface you need to use ASIO not MME or directx or else you will have latency. I need to open ASIO config panel and hit a power button next to the spark then it becomes available in my DAW without switching off of ASIO. I use propellerheads Reason.

Hey! Great Video man! My best guess for why you were getting a delay in the paythrough but not the recording, is that your amp was initially acting as a regular guitar amp and giving you your sound, but then the signal was also sent to your software, which recorded it, and then SENT IT BACK TO THE SPEAKER. I am sure if you remove the audio output to the spark in the software you wouldn't get the second sound back, just the initial sound straight from the amp.
Once again great video, and if you see this, hope it helps :)

The Spark is a 40-watt amp that uses two 4-inch (4-ohm) speakers and a bass-reflex cabinet. At 7.4 by 13.7 by 7.0 inches (HWD) and 11.4 pounds, it's a smallish amp that you can take along with you wherever you go using the removable black leather carry strap. Thank you again.

I like it but the things I don't necessarily like:
    - It is really mid-heavy even when you turn it down or use headphones (streaming music sounds fine but the guitar you can't get rid of the muddiness) mulling about picking up an eq pedal to see if that helps
    - Interface is clunky, it doesn't rotate to landscape so you can see more pedals
    - It has two different bluetooth connections 1 for audio and second for controlling the pedals, for me ideally I would connect two different devices (phone for streaming music and control through tablet). That doesn't work it only allows one device to connect to both.
    - the categories for your tones, I would like to keep my custom separate from the ones that come with it but they don't have that so you have to pick a category and then go scrolling.
    - tonecloud may have 10000 different tones but lets be honest most are shit (regarding that, it would be nice if you do submit one you could go back and edit and tweak instead you have to add a new one)
The good news is all of these could be dealt with

To that end, I'd love to see somebody (maybe our host here), to go find the best tones by category and publish them for the rest of us here on TH-cam. Everyone would love it! Nice job! I saw a review where they used the headphone out on the Spark to the input on their interface to record. I wonder if that would sound as good as BIAS FX 2? I use BIAS FX 2 in my DAW and when I use BIAS in too many tracks, the RAM on the computer is not enough and it gets real sluggish. If you could record from the Spark, it should record as a regular sound track, although you would lose the option to change the preset in the DAW, but it should not use up so much RAM. I wonder if that would work? And would it sound as good as BIAS FX 2? Thanks.

Thanks for checking this video out. The sound is very similar but still different. I use BIAS FX 2 as well...once i finish the track i freeze it and flatten it...and it give me more use of my RAM.

Watched another review of this amp and they didn't mention the external power supply. That's both good and bad. It would work with an external battery but it's kinda messy to really use next to a wall outlet. Who doesn't have enough wires all over the place. What is the actual wattage or sound level for this thing. Can you use it with a drummer IRL? Good review tho. Sounds like a great first amp or a practice amp. Sounds like a good deal on a lot of fun.

I give the amp a 4 or 5 out of 10. I Still dont understand why PG did not build the complete BIAS FX 2 into the Spark. That way you would be able to move around gear and design the signal chain as you like. This would also mean you could acces the whole tonecloud with user presets, not just those with identical signal chain as the Spark.
I dont understand why aux volume knob is so tiny and not the same size as all other knobs.
I dont understand why PG did not build in a send/return.
I stil dont understand why PG did not make it possible to use a foot switch.
I dont understand why PG did not add a 5 min looper.
I dont understand why PG did not make the Spark send 4 channels, left/right wet and left/right dry, (for optional reamping in DAW later) when used as an interface.
I dont understand why PG did not make it possible to connect 2 Spark and use them as a stereo setup (like the Katana mk.II).
I dont understand why PG just included 4 tiny slots for user presets, when they did the exact same misstake on their Jamup ios app were they expanded that numbers in an early update...
    Etc etc etc....

For the first part that's easy, then people wouldn't buy the BIAS FX2, it is priced that way
For the second, I have found the aux should be set once and then adjust your volume for your "amp" to suit accordingly. Then use the master to increase everything at the same level
