Thank you for your honest feedback! We definitely learned from this experience. In past years, we opened registration at 9am and got people checked in and ready to shop well before 10am. This year, probably because of the rain, I heard from our reg team that people didn't start lining up until a quarter to 10. So we had to process the same number of people in the quarter of the time we usually do. Next year, we will definitely note in our emails before the event that check-in will open an hour before the show starts and encourage people to come a little earlier and will look at how to speed things up. (We also planned to have a coffee truck at registration but he couldn't come because of the rain. 🙁) We also have in our notes to have some printed marketplace maps at registration next year. Also, someone mentioned below that we noted in our emails that people could come back into the marketplaces after 1 p.m., but I understand not everyone saw those messages, so we will make sure to communicate this better at check-in and maybe add that to the tickets.
I haven't been (I live in the UK - but it is on my bucket list!) but I think I know the tree you mentioned! Courtesy of people taking pictures under it and it being in other peoples vlogs / footage! I loved the walk around videos x
I really appreciate your”walk through” tours. My interest is in what is available, how Easy/hard it is to get into booths, the colours and choices are so incredible. I have no interest in the podcast “movie stars” so THANKYOU for keeping it more about the products available.
This is the first video I’ve watched of yours, but will def be digging into your other ones! Thank you for all of the hard work you put into this, as a sufferer of Rhinebeck Fomo, this was a wonderful way to learn and have fun with it. Thank you!
I am going to Rhinebeck next year for the first time! ( because I am finally retired)... but my local friends with whom I am traveling only want to go for Saturday / Sunday. You r video & commentary has helped me realize, that just Saturday/ Sunday is Ok. Thank you!!!!!!
TOTALLY agree about rhinebeck being the star show ! I didn’t go to the independent festivals this year because I know booths were empty last year and this year at rhinebeck and I think those vendors should try to get into the festival… ( I know new vendors that got in right away this year ) I fear that the independent shows are taking away from the main festival . They could share booths at rhinebeck. And totally agree about the sweater quantity thing ! Which is what I always look for . And I am sticking my tongue out at anyone that criticizes your filming ! I was grateful that you filmed … (but you should have caught ME in one of your shots ! 😂😂)
This is as close to a yarn festival that I'm going to get and I really, really appreciate you doing all this work to share it with us. Much appreciated!
Indie Untangled had a golf cart to transport between the 2 barns. My understanding is that if you couldn't see everything you wanted during your allotted time, you could go back at the end of the day. Just an FYI
Oh my, I just found you, and I just live your vid. Thank you so much for this experience. I've wanted to attend one of these wool festivals for so long, but apprehensive about traveling alone and not being able to share my excitement with a friend being there with me. But watching your vid excited me so much, I'm going for it next year.
Thank you for your tour of Rhinebeck 2023. I've wanted to go to the festival for the past few years but haven't been able to yet. I was so excited to hear you give a shout out to Lift Bridge Yarns, my local yarn store and Megsandco one of the local dyers, here where I live in Rochester.
I love Tannei Casey. She does amazing work on all of her bags, just top notch. I literally headed straight there as soon as they let us in, just so I could get "1st" picks of her bags. Indie Untangled sent out a couple of emails with maps and vendor descriptions, saying that there was 2 places of vendors.
@@the_copycat_stitch huh. Maybe my email just knew how excited I was to go, and automatically put all emails related to Indie Untangled on notice on my phone so that I would see them. Not that you weren't excited. Just that my emails have a ghost in the system.
@joanarnold82 😂 I went back to look and I think it went to promotions and got lost in the sea of ads. It's good to know they had resources available, but I can't be the only person who didn't see it....
I got an Advent mini set last year from Road Trip Fibers/Herd of Cats last year. Absolutely loved it and the little goodies that came with it. The yarn is lovely and the cat pictures (I chose cats) with each color were remarkably like the yarn colors. It was such fun to open each day. My two cats thought it was a good choice. Good podcast and liked your yarn haul, especially from the main event.
I enjoyed your recap more than the rest! And just found you. ❤ a very enjoyable listen. I need to know the pattern for your beautiful rust leaf sweater, so perfect for the season!
Very much appreciated you taking us along and showing all the experiences of the festivals, which I really enjoyed watching. Glad you were able to purchase some great items too, thank you for going and filming.
I've never been to Rhinebeck or any of the associated festivals, but when I heard some of the details about Wool & Folk, I was aghast! If the venue "can" host events with 500 people, what in the world were the organizers thinking when they sold three THOUSAND tickets?
Thanks for sharing your experience! I love the sweater you're wearing during the first day recap (sheer orange-brown pullover). I looked through your Ravelry and couldn't find it. Would you mind sharing the details?
I’ve only been on 1 yarn show and 4 shows seems like a lot. Wool and folk, did a lot of thing’s wrong, especially the last minute site location. If you could spread out the festival, like 2 a day or 1 a day, or even a week, instead of 3 at once. Might be a bit more relaxing for people.
EARLY. I booked mine in March this year, and the pickings were already slim. Basically as soon as they announce the dates I would try to book something.
So you had to pay to shop at all of these places? I thought Rhinebeck was one big place where you paid a fee to get in n then shop at these different booths.
The main festival is exactly that! The smaller Friday festivals are unaffiliated with the main festival (and each other) so you do pay admission for each.
I would be so overwhelmed...😅 that idea with sock...brilliant ❤ more vendors should consider doing that , with various projects ..I bet they would sell many ! Thanks for your honesty about your experiences. 🧶💫

What a great response! It’s so good to see indieuntagled is open to receiving feedback, growing and improving their event. ❤.

I loved seeing what you bought!

Yeah, I filled out a survey for them earlier today that asked if I utilized those. I never saw them 🤷🏼♀️

Thanks for the insight. I’m going next year and know now how to use my time wisely ❤️

orange isn’t just for fall. I wear it all year long!

Thank you! I made that before I started using Ravelry to track my projects. It's a kit from We Are Knitters called the Wolke Sweater.
@@the_copycat_stitch Awesome, thank you!

I hope to go next year. How far in advance would you need to book accommodations?

I’m not finding anlink on the 29 Bridges site to purchase the pre knitted sock kit. Do you have it?
I'm not sure, I've only seen it in person at that show. I think you should be able to message the owners to ask!
