I saw the name of this city on a released police live cam of the shelling/ bombing (2/24/22), and found your video. How heartbreaking to learn of this beautiful, thriving and historic city, while looking into the individual, smiling faces of its residents. 🙏❤🇺🇦❤🇺🇸
I was waiting for this video! Thanks for sharing these interesting observations, Johnny! I'll definitely give it a try and stay in Kharkiv for 1-3 months.
If you are planning to spend the summer in Ukraine, then during this time you can find a lot of interesting things. You can go to the Carpathians, climb Mount Goaerla or show the famous mountain lake Senivir. There are also ancient castles in the west of Ukraine. You can go to the south - there is the Oleshkovsky sands desert. And also a city on the water - Vilkovo in the Odessa region. Not far from Kiev is the village of Buki, where the famous Ukrainian canyon is located. Videos about Ukraine can also be interesting and exotic. Not just clubs and nightlife.
5:59 on the background is sports complex of Kharkiv National Univercity. There are swimming pools, gym, table tennis, two basketball courts - that can converts to volleyball courts.
One of the Indian students looked ready for his pension. Hard enough studying medicine, harder still when you don't speak the lingo. I take it they spend some time learning the language before starting their course. Already been mentioned but that girl @16:37 was certainly striking & reminded me of a younger Cameron Diaz.
16:26 guys thank me later. The girl on the right has the most beautiful eyes I've seen. OMG. I'm from LA and I confirm that a 10 in LA is a solid 5.5 in Ukraine
Damn - I've got to be careful about going to Kiev. Even in the USA a $100 night out partying is unthinkable, I think the worst damage I've ever done was $40.
The french guy actually pronounced it right. krasivyj ...not krasavka :))). You should ask your friend lena how to pronounce it right with the proper ending depending on situation )))
Interesting Video. so nice to all these cities in Ukraine. I did not know. Chernobyl is in Ukraine. Now you can visit the burnt out power plant. No one lives there now.
During Siviet times were people allowed to use these Church's ? As far as i know, USSR were against religious freedom, wonder what were the activities in Churches during those times...
Military officials would be asked to destroy them but would often spare the churches/cathedrals by converting them to offices, HQs, barracks or other “requirements.”
@@JohnnyFD Glad they didnt follow the exact orders and converted them into offices instead, demolition of such beautiful architecture would be a crime. I am not religious, nor am I a Christian(i belong to one of the three major Abraham faiths) but i really enjoy the architecture and vibes of these beautiful churches.
looks like these slavic student girls don't understand any single word he speaks. probably education isn't best in kharkiv despite amount of students :)
Ukrainian people are very friendly, its not that they dont like American people its because the girls just could not understand what Johnny was saying.
I been there for 6 years as student. I love Kharkiv and a people.
Hows your experience and also studywise

Everything changed when Russia came to "Liberate" the city from happiness.

@@JohnnyFD next vedio : (soon) ukraine people think about cricket
@@shiraniperera5458 Alas, cricket is not popular with us. Many have never even heard of such a game.
Good comment!
Loving your Ukraine Vlogs. Hardly anyone vlogs about Ukraine
So glad you’re vlogging from Ukraine. Way more interesting for me personally. Seems like a great spot to stay after living in Asia.
It's been fun here! And definitely a unique experience.
It’s great to watch everyday events in a less well known Ukrainian city that’s off of the radar of most tourists..
I'll definitely be moving to Kiev in 3 months after watching your vlogs ! Appreciate all the videos man ! keep it up !
I've been to Kharkiv twice. It's a cool place and I have every intention of visiting again.
Nothing better than chilling, drinking some tea while watching a cozy johnny vid

It's like comparing Boston to Chicago, student wise.

I'm moving to Kharkiv for school (6 years) and this is the most detailed, helpful vlog I've seen. Really gives me a feel of the place. Thank you😊
Were you able to get out safely?
@@dontennis2260 Thankfully, Yes. I left a couple days before the war started.
@@yensongg_ I'm just seeing this :( I really hope you're safe.

They are taught medicine in English.

There are lot of russian and east europian dancers in bollywood with good money . So i guess those girls are aspiring dancers for the same .
