- These are the best places in Kyiv, Ukraine (Kiev) to go for a walk with a date. We start in the old historical center of Podil, walk along the river, having lunch by the water, take the funicular tram up to the view points, walk across the friendship bridge, take photos with a hawk, secretly listened to a live symphony, and had one the best possible dates all without spending a more than a few bucks.

Hey Johnny, I was the one that randomly ran into you with my girlfriend in Marinsky Park this week (first time ever running into a TH-camr, too). Wish we remembered to take a photo with you. Definitely made my day. As I mentioned, your videos helped me gauge what was going on with the lock down in Kiev and things we could do if they extended lock down. Luckily, it was lifted a few days before our arrival.

WOW, Johnny!! The orchestra blew me away! I arrive to Kyiv in August and will have to head that way. I would love just randomly walking by and then coming across that. When playing in a such a group, (I was never in such a large one, but...), I could not really "hear" properly. Once, as a special event, the audience sat amongst the orchestra and I will never forget this, nearly 50 years later!! The conductor has the "best seat in the house." I subbed for an orchestra teacher about six years ago and "had" to direct the kids, a group of about 20 and to be honest, I nearly cried. Music is my thing as it is so incredibly beautiful! In Kyiv, I also plan to watch a lot of the teams play American football which I also used to play. I will have a fun time in Kyiv, I think!
I felt like it was such a blessing to walk by and hear it. =)
You can actually go to the Kyiv National Opera for about $15. I'd definitely suggest it if you have time.

@@gopro369 My trip went well and once I landed and went through the various checks, all was good. Not once did I have to show proof of health insurance but I did show my two COVID shots. A former student of mine with ties to Kyiv showed me around downtown, a couple of days before the Independence Day parade. All is going well so far. Thank you for asking!
Johnny your day out with the lovely Russian girl was fantastic . i loved the piano player in the park and the classical music . it seems likw people in Ukrain are very kind of laid back and they seem to take life in stride a day at a time. sounds like my kind of place.

I am fortunate. There is a lovely lady who has agreed to be my tour guide in the Podil district this August. It is her favorite part of the city.
Food in Ukraine both from grocery store and in restaurants are far better than here in the US.

I have never been to Ukraine but for some reason I had this feeling the food there is excellent lol. I have been working my ass off since April to try get my moving van converted into a mobile home and travel to Ukraine before the winter starts here in Norway (and before they go crazy with the corona hysteria again and closes borders)

Some of the best Thai food I've ever had was at a little place on Kreschatyk, across from the Metro. That was in 2016 - when I returned 2 years later, it had changed into a beer bar. Buddha Bar, just down the street, is very good, too - albeit a bit on the expensive side, but the atmosphere and music are great!

You gotta have very comfortable shoes when visiting Kiev. Everything is huge, from the streets, parks, etc. At the time I was there I lived in L.A. at the time (no one walks in L.A.). I was sore for days, that's why the ladies over there are so fit. Oh, and the craziest walking of all if when you visit the presidential palace. Rent a golf cart, you're welcomed.

You can tell that the one with a price of 219, 3rd one from the right, was ahi tuna. Or at least I can. It's one of the only types of fish you flash seer the entire outside and looks also has that dark texture like that. Easy to make, fairly cheap and incredible with some soy sauce/wasabi. You can even get "steaks" of ahi tuna for $6 or under and they still are great quality. Make it sometime if you get the chance, 30 seconds on each side, top/bottom outside edges and boom; Yummmy, yummy in my fucking tummy!

Most Asian people only use chopsticks when eating noodles, and things that are far to grab. In Thailand we use forks and spoons for rice dishes.

I would literally cut the date short and call the agency or matchmaker to meet another girl the next day. Always have back up girls you are interested in before coming in Ukraine.
