- A little while back we played a livestream concert featuring the music of Cream. It was a great show and this version of Stevie Winwood’s “Can’t Find My Way Home” was a real highpoint of the concert. Leonard was transfixed and singing some of his best notes ever. Check out the vamp section at the end where he’s improvising. Wow!

Got the chills. A favorite of mine but you added spice and played it in another key with excellent use of octaves on vocals. Oh, and a jazz flavor in the middle with a classic ending.

So, Im under an assumed name right now, but back in the day, Lenny and I sang a duet, on stage "Lean On Me" for our High School back in '85. I think that was his first concert debut as it was for me too. For me personally, it was the happiest moment I have ever felt(even today). We sang, the crowd got into it, gave us a huge standing ovation(300-400 people)... Since then I know Lenny has gotten MILLIONS of standing O's, but for me, that day, it was the greatest. So glad he turned out so well. I always wanted to re-sing this song again with him if I ever got the chance, never did, but thats okay!

I was 30 years when I first heard that song. I was a Cream fan, Clapton in particular. I was going through tough personal times and the midnight Arizona desert along with Clapton. I can relate to the tune, and Leonard tops them all. Thanks all.

I do believe this is a Stevie Winwood composition (not Clapton). From Blind Faith, originally sung by Winwood also. Great cover. Sprague and Patton are San Diego treasures. Keep ‘em coming.

Found myself in a nostalgic SD Jazz rabbit hole and was so happy to find this. Watching you, Tripp, Kevin, John, and Kelly at India St Jazz Festivals was seminal in cementing my love for jazz. In '74 (age 14) I went to an RTF show (Bill Connors era), which was my first jazz concert. Chick's passing has truly done a number on me. I am grateful to him and to DotU for the musical impact you had on me and so many others...

Best ever cover of this song. I love the chords that Peter uses, and his arrangement gets right to the heart of the song. His choice of the most appropriate singers is to be applauded, and his supporting musicians rock!
