    For bug types it doesn’t get more budget than beedrill. Has a mega out currently, is very cheap to power up and weedle is a very common spawn. Not to mention you can get mega beedrill energy just by spinning gyms

    I also want to emphasize that for those who are struggling to find good IVs for various mons, best to find a friend or have another account to mass trade with to reroll IVs
    A strategy I use is to mass catch similar species, coordinate with a friend, and just grab lunch or find some time to chill and mirror trade. I have received various 100%’s and luckies with this tried and true method
    Daxi already made a video on this but just a reminder PSA

    I think budget pokemon are absolutely worth building with the following considerations:
    1. Caught at level 30+ (don't really need stardust)
    2. Evolve with a good move set or only have 2 moves for a guaranteed success with TM (I blew 10 charge tms into a donphan and never got earth move so he's not my friend any more T_T)
    3. Trade evolution. Trade crappy iv high level Bois for some free candy, an IV re-roll, and free evolution. Might even get a lucky!
    4. it's a pokemon that you love. (I don't care if alakazam is worse than Espeon I traded until I got a lucky hundo and he's going to level 50 one day, because abra is my baby boi. Also he gets a mega evolution eventually, so win win.)
    Additionaly I am a returning day 1 player, who only played 3 months in 2020 since leaving the game in 2018. I am building budget teams so I can raid and have found the new mega system incredibly budget friendly. A single raid gets you enough mega energy for the only mega evo you ever really need to pay for. More raids = faster road to lvl 3 mega but that's just gravy IMO. Get the megas, they will be occasionally your strongest response and it cost 1 raid pass of investment

      Swampert, walrein, and talonflame with legacy moves are solid for great league and ultra. For master they will most likely use legendaries and the stardust cost will be prohibitively expensive especially for beginners and free players. Best stick to great league and little cup for new players. Even great league power ups will need 200k+ stardust to make a good team. Sylveon, glaceon and umbreon are also good budget pokemons and you can evolve each of them easily once. Do a google search on it.

    Those in real need of budget powering up might want to consider the dual typing pokemon from your list. Swampert, Roserade, Excadrill, Ryperior, etc.
    I buy raid passes so I have lots of legendaries and shadows but a friend doesn't so I often help her decide what are the better pokemon to level up from her dex.

    • @frotes
      @frotes ปีที่แล้ว

      Why is dual type helpful for budget? Are you aiming to split the moveset types between the two?
      I guess in my mind you normally still go for fast and charge move of the type you are aiming to counter. But maybe that isn't as viable for budget

    • @MP-ej9pw
      @MP-ej9pw ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@frotes Yes, unlock the second charge move and sometimes if the mon has fast moves for each coverage (that are not legacy) you can use a Fast TM to change it depending on what you want. (Swampert with Mud Shot and Water Gun or Rhyperior with Mud Shot and Smack Down). Also, this doesn't work with mons that have legacy fast moves like Tyranitar since Smack Down is legacy for it and you cannot get it using a regular Fast TM.

      @@davidbeltran9946 well that's why it's a budget list. It's not meant to be end goal material. All you need is a 30+ granbull with mid to good IVs until you can get those togepi candies. Lucky bunz made an excellent video regarding the topic, but it is weaker of the 3 but it should still be a contender with how readily available snubull is compared to the others.

Lvl 30 is 90% of its total damage potential and getting a Granbull to lvl 40+ is optional, but it is more than adequate to use in raids, especially as a budget choice. Snubbull and Granbull can often spawn at lvl 25 - 35 in the wild. I have caught a 2534 Granbull in the wild and I think it was lvl 30 + with 2* almost 3* IVs.

    An added tip I recommend for a lot of people who are still trying to stack that stardust is to try and catch the highest LEVEL pokemon you can (i.e. if you're raiding for a Machamp, Tyranitar, etc, focus on them when they're weather boosted). If you're able to catch them in the wild while they're weather boosted, like all the Machop during the worlds event, you could potentially be looking at mons close to level 40. These can carry you for a lot of raid bosses while you wait for better IVs or shadows to actually invest stardust into.

    I'm a bit confused. You're presenting these Pokemon as being useful in raids, but you said these are for people that don't do a lot of raids and don't have legendaries?
    I would suggest this strategy for those on a $$$ budget or a stardust budget:
    Save up your stardust for legendaries and find a large raid group that can carry you to victory and will lead to your getting good legendaries (sorry rural players, this probably doesn't work for you). Use gym coins to save up for boxes with raid passes and do your 2 free raids every other day (you can save one from the day before and still get a second for that day).
    You don't need a bunch of each legendary, so just do a few of each. And don't worry about IVs, with legendaries they are minimum 10/10/10, and that's just fine. Power up good legendaries as you can with your dust. Within a few months you will have a good stable of legendaries and you'll be ready to carry others in the raids!

    i agree i guess 50/50, some are worth it to power up permanently some aren't as long its a meta pokemon like metagross, garchamp etc. these comday pokemon is must because you can grind it and save up some candies to power it up for example like 1 shadow machamp and 5 normal/lucky machamp is worth to have or worth it to invest its not like you need a full team of shadow machamp that has 100iv or max cp, that's way too expensive, anyway their is a good balance and alternative way. mirror trade it also good because you can get 3-4* lucky easily in some events that has increase odds of getting a lucky pokemon if you have friends or relative to play or just use two device to trade from main to alt account with same type pokemon, and also good moveset can help you in raid attackers, even it budget but you have these legacy moves its worth it to have it, weather you're fp2 or p2win Trainer in Pokemon go you get these to have decent team in raid attackers, just sharing from my experience.. sorry for my English

    Sorry Daxi but there are better tips for the budget conscious in your comments section.
    Lucky Pokémon - half the dust expense.
    Dual type Pokémon - use for both types.
    Melmetal - fully accessible, tradable and valuable mythical.
    The other thing to consider is that in many cases a raid caught legendary/mythical/beast can be fairly close to if not better than a level 40 non legendary/mythical/beast Pokémon - some analysis on this would be a great topic for a video.
    If dust is your issue, it is better to have multiple high-ish level Pokémon than to have a single high-max level Pokémon.
    Using XL candy is usually a waste save that for your hundos.
    But at the end of the day play however you want to play and have fun.

The best strategy for casual players is to just use the highest CP wild pokemon you have found and slowly power up the top tier attackers in the meantime. Remember that if you have 6 budget counters in the cp 2000-2500 range, with the right moves, you're already doing way better than most other players in the raid.
    For budget dust investment, up to level 30 is optimal. After that, each powerup only adds half as much stats to any Pokemon.
    If you can already raid, it's also nice to get just a bunch of legendaries and never power them up as a budget option. For recent examples the ultra beasts Nihilego (poison) and Xurkitree (electric) are great. 6 unpowered Nihilegos is honestly more than you'll ever need as poison type raid team.

      Also, types to focus on: Rock, Fighting, Dark, Fairy, and Steel.
      Next: Ground, Electric, and Ice. Important for coverage but not the most widely used types.
      The self-weak types Ghost and Dragon are last.
      Skip all other types unless you want to get some anyway.

    Granbull is 100% best budget Fairy type that is not a legendary. Easier to get than Sylveon (don't have to gamble on mystery evolve w/Eevee) AND its fairly bulky.
    People sleep on Granbull and if you can get a good IV shadow Granbull, that's quality too!

    • @sambeaumont395
      @sambeaumont395 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no gamble mystery Eevee evolve for Sylveon.
      25 candy + 70 hearts as buddy.
      Look at silhouettes - choose correct one - get Sylveon.
      Granbull has an edge on DPS, Sylveon on DPS^3*TDO.
      Dying less probably the better choice if on a strict dust budget.

    • @kmrskates
      @kmrskates 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sambeaumont395 It is a gamble mystery if you do not do the 70 hearts with a buddy, but I am not sure how many know that is how you get Sylveon. If they watch this video, then they'll know. xD
      Granbull is still far more accessible in my opinion since it doesn't need any evolve conditions like the Eevees do or is a rare egg/raid spawn: Togepi/Togeptic for Togekiss.
      70 hearts takes a while to get to on one buddy (if you're not Poffin-ing them) and if you want 3-4 Sylveon, that is far more work/time/money than Granbull. If you wanted 3 Sylveon, that's about 15-16 days total (approximately), unless you can cycle multiple Eevees at once and do all the daily heart challenges per Eevee every day.
      To each their own, though. Dust budget/overall time & effort - Granbull is the better choice if you can get a few around lvl 25 - 30 and power up slightly as needed. Granbull even spawns in the wild where I am, so maybe I am biased geographically. As for DPS vs TDO, if you can dodge with your Granbull in raids then you can negate the TDO longevity of Sylveon. I'd rather have 3-5 Granbull with good-great IVs over a couple Sylveon

    • @sambeaumont395
      @sambeaumont395 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kmrskates - wrong.
      Eevee will only turn into Sylveon if;
      - use one time name trick “Kira”
      - after obtaining 70 buddy hearts
      The mystery eeveelutions are Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon.
      You can easily get a minimum of 8 hearts for up to 7 Pokémon per day - should take about 30 minutes. That’s 7 (8 with name trick) Sylveon in 9 days without walking and without using a poffin.
      The video is about working on a budget and ultimately falls short of any real advice - personally I would avoid all fairies as other Pokémon likely do a better job in raids and/or are more versatile and therefore help to save dust.
      In relation to fairy - I don’t disagree that Granbull is accessible.
      But I will note it is twice as expensive (candy) to evolve. And is less tanky than Sylveon so likely to need more powered up (costing more dust).

    I got a Electabuzz I caught in 2016
    and now after many years not playing I'm back and I got a Bagon today from a Referral Milestone Reward.
    I got a Staraptor at comunity day with gust and Brave Bird. It looks like he can't learn "Sky Attack" as it say in the video.
    They are Low lvl so will be expensive to level up, but I guess it's worth it?
    Should I evolve and power opp these ones, is it worth it?
    Bagon:
    100% IV
    lvl 15.0
    CP 495
    Electabuzz:
    100% IV
    lvl 19.0
    CP 1267
    Staraptor:
    100% IV
    lvl 31.5

      As I understand IVs matter more on Shadow Pokémon due to break points.
      The question should be do I need this right now, if no hold out for a better iv, if yes power it up.
      And in any case if it isn’t a Hundo be aware that you may get better ivs down the line and want to power up the better one.

      @sambeaumont395 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mister_x5825 - this is just my opinion - but if you are new to the game and don’t have much candy or star dust - I think you should hold off powering anything up, have others carry you in raids.
      Unlike OG players you have the disadvantage of being able to level up quickly, which essentially means you get the XP gains without getting all of the resources. (Trainer level is near irrelevant, Pokemon level is what matters).
      If you are going to power something up you should want to be able to get it to level 35, so want to have enough candy and dust to go all the way before going for it, in case something better comes along.
      Usually it is better to have two Pokémon at level 35 than one at level 40.
      Who knows by the time you get the candy to power up to 35 (or higher) you will have a better IV version.
      Daxi mentions the budget options in this video for each type but completely ignores that some types are next to worthless, with non-stab Pokémon or neutral effective sometimes being more valuable.
      While ignoring Mega (Shadow and Legendary etc) he also doesn’t clarify that … pokemon can mega and therefore while being a more accessible option has that added benefit.
      If I were you I would look into getting Meltans - Melmetal is very, very good, while an expensive evolution candy is very easy to come by with the mystery box, despite being a mythical Pokémon. It’s a steel type with non steel moves.

      For raids, you want to get as close to perfect IVs as you can, with attack being the most important stat. However, IVs aren't all that impactwful, so I wouldn't stress if you don't get 100% or 98% mons. The difference between a Pokemon with 15/15/15 IVs and 14/10/10 IVs is barely noticeable.
