After one but before the next,
In a tree where new life writhed and flexed
Two birds emerged to hold the world
And grow from feeble talons curled
But fate see them part that day
As lightning cut their branch away
By winds to distant places sent
Almost as if it all had meant
That though their bloodied wounds would fade,
They'd wonder where their brother lay
For every day from that day on
They'd wait to hear a certain song
In vain, for years, thought one was strong
And one was not, for far too long
Until his bones and thoughts were old,
And feathers burnt and lost and cold
The stronger of the two could see
A distant bird, how weak was he
In drawing near but knowing not,
Just who he was, or why, or what
the stronger talons tore at flesh
And stripped away that feathered mess
And all without a sound or cry,
Or even ever knowing why
Yet as the sun began to sink
He seemed to sense, he seemed to think
That soon his brother might appear
From somewhere close, from somewhere near
Convinced this was his brother's fate,
Above his corpse, he sat... to wait
Be'lakor is so underrated, it's ridiculous.
infuriating, even.
Love Be'lakor. It's sad they don't have as big a following as they should. They are masterful at writing music. My favorite by them is Abeyance. Check it out next, if you do another Be'lakor song!!
I proud i love be'lakor and listen them from they whole album
Such a underated band. Incredible talent and musicianship. Every song is good that they have written.
I must admit; I teared up. Such symbolism in the lyrics, so much passion in both the instruments and the vocal instrument. This is a fuckin' masterpiece.
This is my first time hearing of this band. I liked this song from its start. The transitions were wonderful. I have a new band to get to know now. 🤘
Be'lakor is so underrated. One of the best melodeath bands today. Glad to see you reacting to them.
This is by far my favorite Be'lakor song, too. Always get chills when listening to this one. Great choice.
This album Of Breath and Bone is an easy 10/10 album for me, you can listen/react to it with no skips, that being said this is their best release IMO.
My order of preference (1 highest)
1 - Of Breath and Bone
2 - Stone's Reach
3 - The Frail Tide
4 - Vessels
Be'lakor is one of my favorite bands and one of the best ones i've ever heard, i think they are still a very underrated band, all people should love them, they are true geniuses.
Mors Principium Est is another underrated band in this genre
Not a fan of that style of singing, but the playing and arranging are out of this world. Is this what they call melodic death metal? I dig it.
Great video again, Ruben. Thanks!
Try Insomnium if you want to experience Melodic death metal! Here are some recommendations:
While we sleep
Revelation
Weather the storm
Black heart rebellion
Mors Principium Est is another underrated band in this genre
I love how you keep introducing me to new material that I really like.
Please don't stop reacting!
7:06 the best part. So lucky to have just stumbled across the entire album, but this part always stood out to me as some of the best music I've ever heard in my life.
Strongly recommend the Album Vessels a concept album which traces photon of light (seriously) escaping the pull of the sun and providing life. It initially supports a plant, being a vessel, then as that is destroyed or eaten it passes to the next vessel finally finishing with a man in the song "A smoke of Many fires". Recommend "An Embers Arc" and "Roots to Sever"
Cheers from Portugal, mate!
This is an epic and ethereal album
🇵🇹🤘
Happy you loved the song! I've been lucky to see Belakor live twice here in Brisbane and Melbourne. All I can say is they are SENSATIONAL! The fans of Belakor are so mellow, happy and friendly, lots of eyes closed, heads gently rocking with smiling faces, allowing Belakor to take then on a wonderful musical adventure during the shows, and plenty of bouncing when the tempo calls for it :-) Try "Abeyance" for something else off this album or "The Smoke Of Many Fires" for something off their current album. Each of their Album's have their own strengths but "Breath and Bone" is a wonderful album to start your journey with :-)
One of my favs to listen to. Poor birdie.😭
Some days I feel like the healthy brother, unwittingly destroying that which he seeks, and some days I feel like the weaker brother, getting pummeled by life left & right. Today it's a mix of both. 🤬... 🤷♀️
Be'lakor always reminds me of old Paradise Lost. Once joined a concert of Paradise Lost in old Tivoli in Utrecht. Was really killing. Glad I made it out alive. This song was outstanding. Atmosphere goes deep. Cheers Cognacman 😄
Greetings from México 🇲🇽
I love that Band. 💕
I love the Album Art on this album
True successors of Opeth..... Dont get enough appreciation....... Try Remnants
Great song, and actually has an intro song before it called 'to stir the sea', listening to them together is just beautiful.
Your emotions are priceless! Thank you for your good work on the reviews
Brilliant! Perfect music for Sunday evening... Thanks for the video Ruben! \m/
Be'lakor is really the best of everything in the melodic/progressive death metal scene outside Insomnium, Dark Tranquillity and few other bands.

Eternal tears of sorrow. Do a reaction to this band, You Will love ir!
Be Lacor is the best melodic death band around. Maybe Insomnium are close to compare. And this whole album is a perfect ten.
The black dahlia murder is the best melodic death metal band imo. (Although theyre much heavier than insomnium or belakor)
Mors Principium Est is another underrated band in this genre

Hi Ruben:
For a change of pace, listen to one of my favorite metal songs, The Mob Rules by Black Sabbath. Ronnie James Dio sings it and it is a killer track. Enjoy!
Sounds like old Katatonia, great song! try Opeth - coil the live version. Beautiful song
old katatonia?
lol not even close.
@@Flugmorph well I´m not talking about thier earliest stuff but the albums they released in the late 90´s, early 2000
What brand of cognac are you drinking? I always go for Paulet, but would love to try something new.

React their masterpiece The Dream & the waking 🖤🖤
Hey Ruben! Cheers for reacting to our song! This is Steve from Be'lakor. I've got a calmer, more piano-focused side project called Secludja, if you're game for doing a non-metal reaction video! Would be cool to see what you think: th-cam.com/video/TKtHPa3Zm2g/w-d-xo.html
First
I really like this band and I really hate this album cover...
The album cover is awesome lol, why do you hate it?
I thought the wolf's mouth was poorly drawn. Like the idea though.
