🐖LAWAR PLEK (Raw Pigs blood lawar): Chop up raw pork very finely until it becomes pasty. Next, cut boiled pigs skin and pigs ear into very thin slices and chop into strips. Mince boiled young jackfruit. Finely chop boiled coconut. Mix all ingredients together and serve.
🥕LAWAR JUKUT (Vegetable Lawar): Mix cooked ground pork with chopped green beans, Balinese curry, chili, fermented shrimp paste, chopped boiled pig ears and skin.
🐖PORK FAT SATE: Chop pork fat into cubes and spear it with a stick. Wrap the pork fat with tenderized pork and grill.

3. Babi Guling Pande Egi: Nasi Babi Guling

🐖NASI BABI GULING: Stuff the pig with bumbu (lemongrass & chillies), garlic, turmeric, onion, ginger, tomato, galanga, shrimp paste, palm sugar and salt - after blending, fry it in coconut oil and sew the hole up to hold the seasoning in. Then rub it with the baste with turmeric. Plug the neck using coconut husk to stop the flavor from coming out and to keep the color from changing. Then rub the pig with coconut water and a touch of Coca Cola. Put it on the fire and rotate while roasting for 2.5 hours | Cut the cheek skin, Blood sausage and egg sausage (intestine filled with egg).

When I came to Bali, the things I like the most is the structures of houses and buildings. I love the temple-like style buildings, and everywhere I always found some small box like offering everyday.
Bali still preserve it traditional style of building, architecture, for example, roof tiles in traditional style, just google 'Javanese roof and Balinese roof, almost the same, with "nok" at the end of roof tiles and gable, using baked clay, and also ornamentation, Balinese architecture base on old Javanse and old Malay in Hindu-buddhist era, the spilt gates with wall or fortified wall around it, slipt gates called 'Candi bentar" and Paduraksa, others tribe all round indonesia like Toraja people famous with = Tongkonan , Batak(Karo, Mandailing, Pakpak, Angkola) with Rumah Bolon, Bugis and Makassar with "Balla Lompa", Banjarese of South Borneo with 'Bubungan tinggi banjar', Tidung of North Kalimantan(also in Sabah), with 'Rumah Baloy",, 'Javanese with "Rumah Joglo", Malay with 'Balai adat Melayu", and Minangkabau with "Rumah gadang, Balinese, Acehnese, and others tribe. but many of this tradition died out. even mosque used middle-eastern arab-persian, india-pakistani/mughal and ottoman/turkish style dome not multi-tiered pyramidal roof like "masjid agung banten" and Masjid agung demak". each tribe of Indonesia have unique style. in Thailand famous with "Sala Thai' and 'Thai Ubosot" and Myammar with "Pyatthat", we can saw in mainland because all temple in local architecture, included palace, but in Indonesia only traditional house, few old mosque and temple, government building and old royal palace

You totally rocked it again! - Bali is such a complicated place and you did an exemplary job of explaining it and being thoughtful to their traditions and culture. You also made some of the scariest dishes very accessible and not frightening at all. Like you, I'll eat just about anything not trying to eat me first.

It used to be a short video under 10 minutes for a single food review. Now it's like a TV show, many food reviews would be put together in one episode, I think intros for each food would make videos too long take more than 20 mins to watch.

We had been to even less developed areas on many of our medical Missions in the 90's. I made it a rule that food and drinks must be hot to touch (that's over 165F before eating. If cold we request that it is more delicious warmed.

Yeap that's why its called - Bali tummy - its very easy to get food poisoning....
Blood might be something else, but raw pork finely minced is a traditional food in germany as well (Mettbrötchen). You eat it right after it is prepared on a bun with sliced or minced onions and you either love it or hate it. Still, i guess our meat hygiene standarts are a bit higher than on Bali. I have never heard of anyone getting sick because of it. But be careful, the meat has to be checked for Trichinella Spinosis, a parasite that is rarely found in Pork, more often in bear meat and wild boar.

This video is a gem on so many counts. Sonny's kind of wit and humor were so enjoyably met tit for tat by Ditka's, and vice versa; I've never laughed so hard at a food blog. It was a food feast for the eyes, the stomach, and the mind, the repartee was such sweet dessert, better than an O exploding in the mouth (you, imp, Ditka hahaha.)
This makes me regret, though, that I saw this months after my wife and I had gone to Bali. While we stayed in the Seminyak area and did our countryside and Ubud tours from there, I would have preferred to stay in the Ubud area, closer to the market and other eating places you show here. Id have loved to experience that whole banana leaf bunch of sticky rice delights, with with the grated coconut and coco sugar toppings. I'd have loved that with Bali coffee, kopi luwak, perhaps.
Anyway, two Balinese food ill always treasure having tasted: sup buntut which I'd have wherever and whenever I could, and the blood sausage I got the chance to try at the market. (On our next visit, I'll likely look you up, Ditka. I'd very much like a witty, crazy but thoroughy infornative and engaging guide.)
Great video as always, Sonny. You have a very creative, skilled production team. I'd have loved to meet them when we went to Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi.
