drop test is useless wenn is schrach on the lens make that camera useless

The drop test was after all of my filming (just in case). I also had the premium lens guards on which protected the lenses 👌

About a week before announcement I was researching and about to drop the money on an X3, but held off on pressing the purchase button "just in case". Glad I did now! The X4 even better fits what I want to do, even if I'm new to the 360 world :)

Looks like an ok upgrade! Would like a bigger sensor though, i feel it might still struggle on low light conditions!
Is it good in low light like the AcePro? Because a multi cam set up using AcePro and X4 in night rides would be fantastic!
How is the low light performance? Has it improved to previous models where this has been lacking ?
The X2 and X3 shot 5.7k, which when reframed as a rectangle gave a 1080p resolution shot. When now filming in 8k, do you know what this reframes to?
if you check out 'chaos causes' video he mentions once edited it will go to 4k

What settings would you recommend for motorcycle riding? Also, isn't a higher FPS better when you are riding on the highway? I have a USB port on my bike so is it okay to leave the USB plug in to charge the insta360 x4 while it's mounted?
Was waiting for this, perfect, smashed my X2, with a mounting mistake. Made a YT video on the error. Hoping this is how the X4 would be, when it came out. The should have called it 2X4 (k) ha ha. Thanks for the video, awesome job explaining. 👍

I want to use the X4 for moto vlogging. Would you recommend going premium for that? Because I suppose without a lens guard, it's easy for a stone to hit the lens, right?
Voice recording of whole DMC group worked already on Garmin Virb Ultra 30 back in 2017. Interesting is that now it seems to be like incredible new feature :)

Love using the 360 for motovlog am using dji mic 2 for audio Bluetooth its ok I have to use a volume control in between the transmitter and lav mic in helmet cause you can't use the dB gain level in the insta while in Bluetooth if you know anything different let me know
I’m interested in getting one of these to mount centrally on my handlebars and tilted towards me. Would it have a wide enough fov to see the handlebars/dash when video is facing forward and enough to see me riding when video is looking towards me, without having too much fish eye effect?
Can’t find any videos where it has been mounted in that exact position
Also, I would like to use the DJI Mic 2 for motovlogging, but I have a question. Do I just pair the transmitter with my Insta360 X4, and that's it, or do I also need to use the DJI receiver? I mean, do I always need to carry the receiver with me in my backpack? Thanks

Hey bro, with the x3 mounted on my chin helmet mount i always picked up to much wind noise when riding my motorcycle, any better on x4 or is there a way to fix that? Cheers geez.
Does the X4 have the same recording gap after the 29 minute mark as the X3? I use the X3 primarily for recording my rides and hate that there is a gap created between the files.
Can it be cropped to look like a regular lens instead of a wide-angle lens? Also, how would it work with an external mic?
Since I only bought the X3 6 months ago, I'd like to get more use out of it before jumping up to the X4 so probably in the summer of 2025 I'll be looking at that upgrade. The X4 does look like a great 360 cam to get though.

Does anybody know if all previous cameras attachements fit this new X4?
It would be interesting to hear how the X4 built in mic picks up the engine noise and how it handles wind... I still use a hero 7 black with a wind slayer and sound is great (without having to resort to an external recorder). Maybe adding foam to the X4 mic would make sense or maybe it is not even needed. Either way would love to know before making a purchasing decision.
The wind muffs for the X3 and X4’s are available and do help. It depends on the angle of the camera, but you can pick up some damn impressive pipe audio if done right

Does it work with the X3 GPS remote?
You know..when it comes to using the QUICK option in rhr apo software, i never used it becsuse it didnt allow me to add telementry data after editijg my footage using that method. That wohld make my workflow so much faster if i could edit my footage via app using the QUICK mode and still add telementry data to that edited footage

I’m unsure. I only ever use it to record a few mins at a time. In my long term review I’ll test it
I bought the x2 a month ago because I was expecting the x4 this year.
I would probably upgrade to x4 maybe next year.
The X4 looks very impressive. I'd love to be using it but I also need/want a replacement to my Go Pro Hero 8 so I'm looking at the Ace Pro and then I need a new drone also. Toooo many new bits needed.

TINY little 1/2 inch sensors that each cover a hemisphere.. whereas the Ace Pro has a 30% bigger sensor to cover 1/10th of the viewing range

It isn’t unfortunately. The X4 has a much larger capacity and is slightly larger in size.

The overall size of the X4 is slightly larger than the X3, so unfortunately not
I bought an X4 for motorcycle riding. One of the batteries swelled up. If you stop riding and take a break for 5 minutes it WILL overheat and shut off. I didnt buy this camera to record at 5.7k. No where on the website before purchasing the camera doers it say Record in stunning 8k but if you do it inn the sun or standing still it WILL overheat and shut off and you will lose footage... You can see a video I uploaded the X3 vs the X4 on my page.

I have tested the DJI Mic 2 with the X4 via Bluetooth, and it’s impossible; it doesn’t work. Also, I think even using the receiver with the X4, transmitting via Bluetooth won’t work well for motovlogging. So... what’s the point? You have to use just the transmitter in your helmet alone without connecting it to the X4. I don’t understand it
Still using my X2 on my Multistrada, looks like I have to buy a replacement😢😬😀
