    Fun Fact: There is a Gerudo in the Eldin Region who mentions Gloom Hands and how Link will not survive an encounter with them. Thus, implying that Link is not the only person who the Gloom Hands attack.
    I don’t want to even think about how many have perished by the Gloom Hand’s, er, hand.

      If you manage to bring some members of this new Monster-Fighting-Group, which are indeed ready to kill a Hinox, to the Gloom Hands they instead start shitting in their pants instead of Fighting them.
      As soon as the Gloon touches them they inmediately get knocked out

    The Wild era is truly one of the most scary and disturbing but also heartbreaking. One thing that’s really scary is that when Zelda stepped in front of the guardian, she had no idea that her powers would manifest right then. She was going to sacrifice herself to save Link, who probably would have succumbed to his injuries anyway if things had gone wrong,and Hyrule would have been without both a princess and a hero, leaving the Calamity (and Ganondorf) to completely take over. Which is utterly terrifying.

    One of my favorite "creepy" places I've found is the small building at the base of the Great Plateau. In BOTW there were 3 stalkoblins just laying out. This is one of the few places they can actually be seen instead of just spawning in. In TOTK a gloom hand will always spawn there. I've always wondered about it and why darkness seems to cling to it.

    I love the horror elements of the villain(s) of both games. Ganondorf, the true body of Calamity Ganon, has practically become a Cannibal. The Malice and Gloom are two parts of the same substance that allows him to feast upon anyone he could bleed dry. One burns away its prey by touching it like acid. One saps away life from the inside, like venom or disease (like how Gloom saps away heart containers).
    After his failed execution in Twilight Princess, and reincarnation in Four Swords Adventures, this incarnation of the Gerudo King has become a parasite to the world.
    Like Demise said, Hyrule is doomed to wander a blood-soaked sea of darkness for all time.

    • @Chris-gx1ei

      Yay, I am not the only one that is convinced of Gloom being some form of Acid

      This is definitely the most deserved his monicker of "demon king" has ever felt. In the past he was basically just a dark wizard or at some points a monster, but now he truly feels like a vessel for something unimaginably horrible, the center of this world-spanning bloodsucking web of eyes and mouths and hands and molten toxic sludge.
      My only complaint is that I wish he were *written* more like what he's become. Seeing this eldritch abomination prattle on about his moustache-twirling plan to get really really strong and beat up everyone and take over the world feels like the literal devil manifesting before you just to say "by the way, I'm gonna break your nose at recess tomorrow."

    6:39 this got me thinking, in this Hyrule/story, Zelda displays great courage, Link displays incredible power and Ganon(/dorf) employs excellent cunning, wisdom, arguably, with his patience and planning.

    • @lundylow
      @lundylow 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's actually something I always thought would be cool to explore in future games. If the power wisdom courage thing was shuffled, and that could take two forms; Zelda, Link, and Ganondorf exhibit different qualities, kinda like you pointed out here, OR, and this is more interesting to me, the same qualities, but shuffling the roles. A cunning Zelda as the player, a rock-solid ally Ganondorf, and a courageous-to-a-fault Link as the adversary. Or maybe Ganondorf and Link buddy up against a trickster Zelda who's WAY too smart for them.

    While I am grateful Nintendo has given us the best version of Ganondorf there is, the lack of his background is one of the problems I have in Tears of the Kingdom. It would have been appreciated if there much in depth to his character that goes beyond his conquest of ruling Hyrule with an iron fist.
    And since Kotake and Koume made brief appearances in two Dragon Tear cutscenes, how come neither Hidemaro Fujibayashi or Eiji Aonouma bother to bring Twinrova back after 22 years? I like to believe it is vital to see how Ganondorf learned the vile magics from his surrogate mothers while the Sacred Stone of the Zonai is more like an amplifier to boost a user’s abilities. A modern take on this iconic villain would not give us another great boss battle would’ve been great to have for Link to face in Hyrule Castle before confronting the Demon King.
    Adding some dark and brutal history of the Gerudo in the time Hyrule is founded would have been included as well. All that put in my comment would’ve been a great dlc idea if not of the cancellation they put on.

    • @4wheal

      Honestly this might be the worse version of Ganondorf he kind of feels hollow as a character.

  • @JonnZth

    By watching this video that it sunk in, again, the fact that this was indeed the worst state the kingdom was.
    And then I think: If Zelda's power didn't awaken when it did.. The goddess bloodline would've been gone for real in this timeline, which is a bit spooky to think about.
    The spirit of the Hero is one thing, a spirit is not tied to anything except fate and reality, but a bloodline is a completely different thing. If it ended there, thats it.
    At that point Hyrule would've, assuming they would somehow recover from the absurdity of the calamity, be broken beyond repair. The whole thing would need some kind of reset on Hylia's part, and even then it would not be the same thing.
    Please note that i'm not a lore wizard, so i might just be spouting nonsense for all i know.

    • @xinpingdonohoe3978
      @xinpingdonohoe3978 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You're right. Bloodlines and spirits do behave differently. Impa knew this, which is why she sent every Sheikah Warrior she could to find Zelda, and why she wanted so badly to find a way to undo the Draconification process. Her family has been serving the same purpose since before the Humans returned to the surface, for countless millennia. Failure now would be inconceivable.

    So Zelda is a descendant of Sonia and Rauru? And we saw Sonia die so their heir is out there. Also the hero’s aspect looks to be half Hylian and half Zonai, is it their son?

    • @4wheal
      @4wheal ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The hero aspect doesn't really look like a Zonai through he has quite a few different physical differences from the zonia seen and there is also the fact the great Calamity is impilled to take place a couple centuries after the sealing war.

    • @xinpingdonohoe3978
      @xinpingdonohoe3978 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@4wheal no such implication exists. The first Calamity could have even been 20 years after.
      There are potential Champions in the ancient Sages, who all have a Divine Beast connection. If the Sheikah modelled the Divine Beasts after the Zonaite helms, it would only make sense if the wearers of those helms had an intimate connection, such as being the pilots.
      Sheikah tech was present during the Zonai era in some fashion, as Mineru's Construct appears and disappears with blue Sheikah energy. One of her personal Constructs also had access to Ancient Blades when it was sealed in the Spirit Temple, answering only to her. Sheikah tech of some form was around before the Zonai, as it appeared in Tri Force Heroes: the Wallmasters. Why would the Zonai not know about it? They were basically usurper rulers. The Sheikah wouldn't trust them much, and might have planted Hylia's descendant Sonia to meet the future Zonai king just to keep this new Hyrule led by the righteous family.
      The Ancient Hero's body and Rauru's arm seem compatible, nearly the same. There's *something* Zonai about the Ancient Hero.

    Am I crazy for thinking the past era that Zelda travels to in Tears may have occurred before Ocarina of Time? Perhaps that’s why the Stalchidren that pop up in OoT’s Hyrule Field have tribal clothing, because they were the Zonai tribes that were eradicated. Could be that Sonia and Rauru married in order to create peace between both of their cultures, but by then, most of the Zonai were already killed. After the events of the past Hyrule, Hyrulian culture flourished and the Zonai were lost to history.

    Like how castle town gose form a bustling town of happy people to wasteland filled with the undead.
    Even TP does this with its very long opening as we get to experience the daily life of peace the people experience only to see that peace destroyed and the innocents hurt.
    In both BotW and TotK, you only arrive after the villain has arrived, and so you never actually get to see the fall or the difference between the 2 sates.
    We have no connection to this event as it has alredy happened and therefor it has less impact.

    what if the botw and totk games actually take place in lorule after it had its triforce restored. that would explain the giant canyon that covers the north and northwest of the map as that would be damage from when their triforce was destroyed. and instead of destroying the triforce again and causing the land to die again they split the triforce into the secret stones.

    6:21 Can't Zelda Fly though? She does it in the battle with Dark Beast Ganon and she must have used that ability in the Imprisoning War seeing as Phantom Ganon replicated it when disguised as Zelda.

      @@a.jthomas6132 Age of Calamity was a different timeline. It happened, but didn't affect BotW much. Only the Champion successors were affected, being temporarily taken into AoC, letting them train with the Champions, which is why when they were returned they were better warriors when TotK occurred.

      I've had my own theory about that for years. It's my belief that King Rhoam and other survivors attempted to flee the Guardian onslaught by fortifying the Great Plateau. The Guardians were able to climb the outer walls of the plateau and defeat most of the survivors, if not all of them.

      @HyruleGamer hey, I got an idea for a lore video, so isn't it interesting that the pedestal that the master sword rests in remains seem to sit in a familiar place? Wasn't oot's castle and castle town surrounded by a moat? And is it possible that the pedestal can't move like how the goddess statues? And on top of that, could this be used to pivot the rest of the maps into orientation that have the pedestal in them? Love to hear what you think about it.

    this video is so redundant.
    looking at the overview of the map did you ever notice how flooded Hyrule looks? you can almost imagine how few hundred or thousand years ago it was flooded completely and was part of the ocean like in Wind Waker.
    it could be said that BotW was a restart of the franchise because the way Zelda locked herself up in both BotW and TotK is the same way Zelda sealed herself up Skyward Sword, that is to say became unavailable for many years for many years. and here i thought Hollywood was running out of ideas...
    frankly i would soon rather delete both BotW and TotK from the canon lore because they both messed up everything so badly you can't even theorize about a lot of things because a lot of things seem to belong in the trash following those two games.
    on and another thing if Link woke up not remembering anything why could he remember walking and breathing and needing to shield his eyes from the sun and not remember who he was supposed to protect or who he is? surely his memories aren't affected if he can remember how to walk and run and climb and eat and use his muscles and pee and talk even. also he wouldn't have been able to so quickly just run out into the world having been asleep for 100 years. his eyes, head, skin etc. would've been seriously screaming "get us back into the darkness of the shade you moron". *sigh* i really dislike stories of both games...

    As much as I loved this video, I must admit I was a bit disappointed that you merely mentioned the Gloom Hands, & didn't go into any further detail about them. Those Gloom Hands scare me far more than any other Zelda enemy ever has before, even after learning how to defeat them...& you didn't even mention Phantom Ganon, whose also rather scary, on the first couple of encounters, till you learn how to beat it.
    They both deserve more of a spotlight in these Halloween vids.
