When it comes to weight, theres a lot of potential to reduce it on the RE, CF's wet weight is close to 200kgs with no potential to reduce. Also the Hemi seems more capable of taking the abuse on the trails, not sure if the plastic on CF will hold up after a few falls.
Ordered mine a couple weeks back. I really didn't think it felt as heavy off the stand as most are saying, having said that I am coming from a Harley Forty Eight ha. Felt so light and easy to ride. Can't wait to explore on it.
Purchased mine as a daily rider, coming off a TRK 502, will be a whole lot easier to work on. Like the styling. Vibrations are being overplayed only by a few.
Just a quick note…. The tubeless tyres are a cost option on certain variants. The gold wheels you have there are tubed I believe. Someone from RE said the tubeless aren’t available in the gold wheels. But on the whole a really good review. Still prefer my current Himmy though 😊
That was the tubeless one, unless they had put tubeless tyres on those wheels from factory. I did put a text subtitle at the pricing bit that did state the extra price of the tubeless version.
@chris-s I understand what you are saying and I thought the same having reviewed so many. However, those tyres definitely said Tubeless on them, unless at factory they use the same tubeless tyres but just put tubes in them.
196 kg wet is heavy for a bike of this power, but there is a big rack, front crash bars and a main stand. I like a heavy duty side stand. Great dash. I like the fly screen. Great riding position: the bars, the rider triangle. Sounds like a really good bike. I bet the Scram version is interesting. Excellent review.
Nice review Mark 👍. Those 20mph zones are expanding across the country now - its getting to be an epidemic unfortunately. Smaller capacity bikes like these are becoming ever more relevant.
In the past, all ADV bikes had a center stand. I think the new 450 is fantastic. A simple, robust motorcycle that looks so wonderfully old-fashioned. Only the CEAT standard tires are bad. By the way, the black/gold one has tube tires.
Yes but these days some people seem to think that adventure riding means jumping logs and playing at being an enduro racer. Channels like Adam Rieman's (otherwise excellent channel) don't help as that is what they are pushing. Classic ADV would be long term long distance travel across countries, continents, etc.. convenience and ease of use is important. The RE450 looks perfectly set up for the job.
Nice video and the Gladiator bit towards the end well, that was EPIC ! I took one for a test ride and placed an order as soon as I returned to the shop . An absolutely brilliant bike ! 🤩Copes easily with the new moonscape road finish we have in Wales as well as the ridickalus 20mph pro-moron speed limits .🤬
These were "maybe available feb/march' - delayed to april/may and now end of may but the Hanle black, gold tubeless wheels are now 'june-ish' despite me ordering one last november. Tubeless variants do seem to be that last to get to customers. Seems RE are now producing 5000 a month but we in uk are not the top of their priorities, plenty of bikes in aus/nz/india dealerships on many youtube videos but when we get them they should have ironed out any 'new model' updates?
Nice review, sure that you are aware now but the bike you have does not have tubeless, the tubeless wheels have the spokes laced to the rim, similar to Triumph, BMW etc.
£6300 for this Himi 197 kg, looks 10 years old and not in a retro way...This looks completely over priced next to the CFMOTO 450 MT for £5700 & 174kg & 4 years warranty. Come on RE, your USP was price, what's the point now???😢😢 G8t review though as always👍👍👍
@@PhilipBallGarry Or you could just test ride the CFmoto 450 MT and if you like it and it's good get it, save £600 and buy a ferry ticket and let the adventures begin.. i agree on the wet weight of MT400
Cf moto is plastic and RE is always about metal, ruggedness

Love that you tested the centre stand, a detail often missed.
Tubeless tires a big hit for me! The weight will be nice on highways for stability in cross winds. Hope to see it in the US soon!
Spot on review, my other bike is a BMW GS1300 and I enjoyed this so much I placed an order, just a fantastic characterful bike with no weaknesses
Purchased mine as a daily rider, coming off a TRK 502, will be a whole lot easier to work on. Like the styling. Vibrations are being overplayed only by a few.
Average kmpl?
30-32 kmpl

That is the tube version you ride , the tubles are completely different spoked going to the edge of the rim
As Chris said it’s a easy spot, the spokes go to the outside.
@@motorsforthemasses nope, those are tubed tyres. The tuless rims are black and pig ugly.

Nice review! Thank you for the video!
Wanted to see the off road ride with the Mutt 401 too for comparison.

Great review Mark! So, when is the delivery date? 😉😎
Good review thanks. Looks like UK is going same way as here in Sydney where speeds are being reduced as low as 15.5 - 25 mph in some areas
Yeah it’s crazy. Part of the dumbing down of people and common sense.
Would love to see it in a dark blue or burnt orange but I dare say you could have it sprayed as you wish
Looks a decent bit of kit, be interesting to see how it compares to the NX500, especially on the road where they will both spend most of their time
Great review….. sounds like a good al rounder , at a great price, not the best looking bike but very practical… defo will have a test ride 👊
I really want one of these never fancied the 411 but this would be great
Thank you, great review.
Thanks for the review; but aren’t you underplaying its harsh vibration higher up the rev band?
I didn't feel that.
@17:35 *an extra 16 horsepower!
my old eyes could never read that clock
Which would you buy, Honda NX500 or this Himalayan?
Himalayan. The Honda was well built and decent but lacked the fun factor of the Himalayan. Himi's suspension felt nicer too.
@@motorsforthemasses thank you.
Maybe I will purchase a tubeless Himalayan

Please see my other comments on this.
Same here in New Zealand with the speed limits. They just don’t want us enjoying driving anymore.
Royal Enfield Germany says only Karmet White is tubeless 😲
in another review they did say 10000km service. is it true ???
I thought it was 4200...but that is off the top of my head so not concrete
@@motorsforthemassesthe service duration will increase every service, till It gets to 10,000. After 2-3 services i think.
Good evening Sir. Might i ask how tall you are?
Certainly, I did say in the video. 5ft 10 & 1/2
Thank You Sir. I must have missed that. Sorry
@@motorsforthemasses 1/2 of an inch can be very important !👃
We’ve had 20 mile an hour in all the Scottish border s for a few years now
like the look of this bike a lot. more modern more power. bit pricey compared to the NX500 honda.
Except the 21" looks ok to me
I still prefer the 411.
I don't
Agreed.. this is pig ugly
My money is for the cf moto 450 the endfiled is out of date on arrival
Let us know how you get on with the CFmoto, it'll be an interesting comparison 👍
the cfmoto is worse off road.
Don't go that way , no spare parts ever and it's a toys r us bike
It would get interesting in a couple of years between Himalayan and cf buyers. 😅
Cf kmpl is about 18 kmpl and himi gets over 29 kmpl there is a huge difference

They just need to release it in the UK already...
It's probably better to have them side by side and test ride them both first before throwing opinions about though?
Aaron palabyab did a detailed comparison after riding both. Its interesting
