There's still cheaper ways. For example, our last trip to Disney, we stayed off property. Found a hotel room for $80 per night, with mini fridge and microwave and continental breakfast. We pack lunches. We still rope drop. And had a fantastic trip for a third of the price. 😊

We've stayed at the Swan and Dolphin using our Marriott points to save money, plus they're close to moderate tier prices. They have a great pool with a slide, walking distance to Epcot and HS or boat. Also dont pay for water in the parks! Get free ice water at quick service locations and you can bring Gatorade type packets to add for flavor and electrolytes. The drinks alone can save major bucks throughout your trip

We broke it up with stops at the corn palace in Mitchell SD, the St. Louis arch, a full day in Nashville and a stop in Savanah. We then spent 5 days in Disney, 2 in Universal studios and 2 with people we knew down there. As long as you don't mind going off Disney property it's usually pretty easy to find rooms for under $75 a night and many also include breakfast, which is another nice way to save a little more money. And if you pack lunch and snacks for the park or just generally don't eat at their high priced restaurants it's very easy to enjoy the parks on a budget. As AP's we go often and use this strategy to keep our costs low. We drive so we don't have car rental or ride share fees to worry about, but even if you did it's still a cheaper way to go. Also, even many if the less expensive hotels have free shuttle service to the popular theme parks-not as frequent as Disney Transportation, of course. But we've taken their transportation to the parks before and then just taken a Lyft back to the hotel before as many do stop before park closing. Which did work out cheaper than renting a car for one of our trips. The most important thing is to research what the hotel has to offer and weigh it against your needs. There are several clean, decent hotels near Old Towne in Kissimmee which is very near Disney but also makes for a very fun day/night in itself too. On the weekends they have antique cars aplenty in addition to games, Carnival style rides, quaint shops and restaurants-free parking and you can get unlimited rides with a 20ish dollar fee. Makes for a fun and relatively cheap date night.

Do Not Pay for Bottled Water 💦 at the Parks. All of the Quick Service Locations give you Free Filtered Water. As Florida water is Not awesome I would recommend bringing in the flavored drink packets. We like a school bread and a Dole whip or maybe a soft baked 🥨 on occasion, but we tend to not eat much at the parks anymore. For momentos go to the Character Warehouse. There is one on Vine and another on International Drive.

We came to WDW at the end of July for three weeks, two families totalling 7. Stayed in a ‘Disney’ villa. The house was 30 minutes from WDW, 45 from Universal, it was poorly decorated and the rental company oversold it describing the most budget as premium. We literally didn’t find out how far away from WDW we’d be until a week beforehand despite our agent telling us it would be months. We though we’d save money but the food shopping was so expensive, so with the car and petrol on top we could have stayed on site. Spent the last week in the Swan and it was amazing! I recommend my family do it after everything AJ has said. Would never stay in a villa again, but definitely would return to the Swan. Being a walking distance was a game changer!

2023 we’ve been getting better pricing than Airbnb because of all the add on fees they have.

    1) airfares never drop - 20 years in revenue management here, I can tell you unless there has been a serious disaster, airfares are never lowered. I am not going to reopen one of my lower bucket fare classes to sell more seats, this means there is no demand and by lowering fares I am not going to create that demand, instead I will just adjust my booking curve for future flights. So always buy early.
    2) Uber can be a great option for up to 4 people - we Uber all the time and it has always been reasonable. The benefit of Uber is that the price is per car which reduces the price per person
    3) Uber Eats and Amazon are also great options for food delivery - we have done this while staying on property and stocked the fridge with soda and had coffee for the am and breakfast/snacks

We went to Disney for under 2500$. Flight we used jet blue card points. No cost. We stayed at holiday in water park in Orlando. This was paid for with ihg card points and my wife’s discount as she is an IHG regional executive. Universal park passes cost under 600$ which we went to one day. Disney cost with genie pass was about 900$. Our hotel was a 3 bedroom suite with a kitchenette. We ordered groceries from insta cart. We cooked breakfast at the hotel daily. We had sandwiches for lunch on the days that we were hanging out at the hotel water park. The rest was spent on dinners. We went to a pirate show dinner which was awesome. Disney dfb .
Needs to go back to. 1985. Where fass passes were included . There park hopping was free!? I remember when my wife and I went to Disney in 1995. Walt would be so disgusted

I understand "progress" and I don't have to like what they have done (or undone) to the parks I remember. I personally however will not be spending that much for the train wreck they have built. All the nerfs and upcharges make me sick. I'll pass.

Disney and Cheap simply do not go together, period!

Disney parks have lost their way. It was formerly about the kids...now it is confusion and picking parents pockets. Throw away the current corporate goals and fire the employed society misfits and twisted management and return to a grounded American family entertainment experience.

Flamingo crossing is a great off site budget friendly option to stay. It’s also a Disney owned property so fun.
