- Actress Meagan Good's real-life views on sex and marriage are quite different from her character's outlook in "Jumping the Broom." It was on that set where she first worked with her filmmaker husband, DeVon Franklin. They believe saving sex for marriage is the key to success. For the couple that meant committing to celibacy until they tied the knot in 2012. Good and DeVon join "CBS This Morning" to discuss their new book, "The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life and the Life You Love."

If you are going to hold a belief, you best be prepared to defend it...intelligently. +na5 Why does a belief have to be defended and explained? The book is for those wanting to take that specific walk in their life. They were questioned as if they're doing and promoting something wrong. I did not like that. It was just plain rude.

Those interviewers were terrible. Incredibly snarky and condescending. Meagan and DeVon are a beautifully God-ordained couple and I love how they were celibate until marriage. The fact that these interviewers and the world looks down on this way of life is sad and speaks a lot to how fallen this world is as a whole.

Yes they are perfect for each other. Its like she said, they have trust and confidence because they took the time to be friends and grew to know each other without the cloud of sex. It makes a huge difference.

What did this interview feel so awkward to me? Why did I feel like they were being "hated on" so to speak.
I felt the same way. But in the end, Megan and Devon are spreading the Right message. The media is oversexualized. Everyone needs to know this. Waiting is worth it. people get divorced so much days, it's ridiculous. #sexclouds your ability to make good judgment. Period.

if you put sex first, when to take the sex out (to be honest. the longer you stay with the same person, attractions can reduce) what else can you do together. what else will be worth your union. That's why people cheat. sex is important to cheaters.

Seems as if the interviewers didn't believe they were actually celibate. If you read between the lines It's as if they kept asking the same question...."do you guys do other sexual activity besides having sex?". Like, how many times do they have to tell you NO?! But they still continued to ask the same question. The other lady even had to remind them "this is a family show"

I must admit that the interviewers made this interview very uncomfortable to watch because they came off judgemental and snarkish. Devon and Meagan are beautiful and kind spirited people who handled themselves so professional and classy!
People are so PC even with something as great as sex. Compatibility??? That is a PC concept. Loving someone is so much different then lusting for someone. Loving is so much better. God made us and tells us fornication is a sin against Him. If we actually thought about God more, we would be so much better off. Sex before marriage has brought us nothing but hundreds of STD's. The Wait is worth it. Good for them.
That's the oldest argument against sex. I'll tell you this, god doesn't exist. Therefore do whatever you think is right. Asking god is actually asking yourself so wether you want to have sex or not is up to you not a magical deity.

The interview was a little "tense" toward the end. The hosts were trying to get them to contradict what they were promoting "aren't there other ways to be intimate besides intercourse?". Like I need those worldly journalists to chill out for real. But the couple handled it well. But really look at the looks on both their faces.

I think a lot of people who don't practice celibacy are curious about where to draw the line when lust rears it's head... it's not stupid to be curious about something you don't understand.... Meagan's face at 5:46 lol. Interviewers were reaching for some controversial response. They kept it together in this interview. Ironically, they weren't the ones coming of as judgmental to another person's lifestyle.

i don't think the question gayle asked about meagan's party life was out of line...maybe the way she said it but if anything it was a perfect way for meagan to admit that yes i was like that before but by God's grace im different now. people are always going to bring up your past to try and demean what you have now in Christ but you can't let yourself get all defensive and ashamed about it. it's part of you and a testimony that God can redeem anyone. im so proud of her for the way she handled it. beautiful couple..i pray she continues to grow stronger in the Lord everyday.

lmfao, I laugh every time I hear that "compatibility" question. It really is such a dumb question! I mean, you're going to end a relationship because sex is a bit rocky at first? Um, ever heard of growth? Discovering what the other person likes and then having your very own unique style? Besides, I think the best answer whenever you are asked "what if you're not compatible?" is "I'm a man. She's a woman. Trust me, we're compatible" ;)
Absolutely correct. Growing that compatibility can be worked on, too, via communication and honesty and love, there are helpful books. counseling, medical clarification if needed. It's not merely mechanics. Technique can be learned and improved; if it's reduced to only a formula, that's not true love. It is a journey of a thousand miles, what is on day one grows and evolves, flourishes and blossoms, so that a loving couple can say they now have a love (including the sexual component) they couldn't have even imagined when they first began their lives together. It's heartbreaking that people think you have to 'try before you buy'. So blind, and so stupid, and can even be dangerous, and it's so very one-dimensional. Pinched thinking. Waiting till marriage also means you don't have a laundry list of previous partners to compare your spouse to, which more readily gives the desire to work hard to improve and build on the good, without a jaded past intruding and haunting your lives.

They handled that interview very well and they wern't caught slipping at all. For Gail to say "So for those who want to have casual sex, are they living terrible lives?" Why would you even use such harsh wording like that. Society always wants to paint Christians out to be harsh and judgmental and clearly these two are not like that. it wouldn't be hollywood if they didn't get that judgement which, I think they represented Christian behavior very well and honestly

I love that they zoomed in on Devon & Meagan holding hands! So sweet! I feel like after you tell someone you're a virgin or celibate maybe even, the person asking finds the most defensive question! Almost as if to judge you before you judge them! But choosing virginity til marriage or celibacy isn't to judge anyone else it is for inner build! It takes confidence! You have to be strong and constantly reassure yourself you are doing what's right! People will always make you question whether you're doing something right or not!
im 19 years old and i had made the decision to be celibate last year. I was recently in a new relationship in which i was honest about my celibacy. The young man i was with was willing to work with me but i was fearful of him leaving me. I even cried about it because i just felt so alone like"who do i know that has done this for me to even be hopeful in this choice?" but i eventually realized i wasnt really liking him and it tuned out he was calling himself seducing me to have sex by constantly wanting to french kiss when the moment wasnt even there. he actually ended up breaking up with me and i was actually at that point. And this women i work with just got married to her now husband and i found out she was celibate. And now to see this couple preaching is so comendable and I love how God works. It's like he said "You know what Tayler, I know this is a tough struggle and I'm going to show you some examples of people to help you out." Im sure im running out of characters but i will be buying that book.

I enjoyed that interview! Megan handled herself well with Gayle's line of questioning, I thought. She made it seem like she was trammping it up, and really needed to stop. I like how she wasn't offended. The status of relationships change over time. Sex is important, but what if your spouse takes ill and can't perform for a short or lengthy amount of time or money problems disturb your flow? At least by becoming friends first, there is more of a foundation to work through rough spots. I find that when women don't feel sexuality compatible is because they married someone who they weren't in love with, but someone who was good for them. So, they often cheat or move on to fill the void. Some women want a ring so bad that they will take the one who will take them to the altar, while the one they really want won't!

It is actually kind of sad that DeVon Franklin had to respond to the question: If you don't have sex before marriage, how do you know if you are sexually compatible? Um because marriage should not be centered on SEX or what the other person can do for you...Shouldn't the focus be on unconditional love, communication and trust? I support you guys! Keep standing up for righteousness even if you get backlash for these Christian values. That's how you know you are doing something right! "You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved" (Matt 10:22)

i really like the way that they answered those questions. I feel as if the panel was a little biased against abstinece/celibacy, and the way that they answered the questions didn't lead to tension between the two sides, or even lead anyone to thing that the coupld felt like better than anyone else.
They're a great couple and look at everybody who needed to test drive only to screw themselves up and have heart break. Their strategy worked for them

To the people of faith, this is a new marriage. If God used prostitutes, tax collectors, and liars to prove a point, he can do the same for them. It's true that they may not have lived a lifestyle that was holy in the past, but counting them out before they get the chance to? What does that say to others who would like to become a member of your faith? Even if you judge and confront your brother, it should be out of love.
To the hosts, I'm not sure if you were playing devil's advocate, but it allowed the two of them to stand their ground on what they were trying to say.

They asked about sexual compatibility...my question is if you're a virgin and never had sex how do you know what you like? 9 times out of 10 you don't know even if you think you do. So, if you wait until you get married-unless the person is just utterly ridiculous in bed and doesn't know where anything is-you're most likely going to enjoy it because you've never "known" anyone else.
