Jon Theodore is a beast. My favorite TMV drummer.
He's from QOTSA, right?
@@raw_spit7013 He's from Golden ;)
@@Pandamasque it's a difficult task being the drummer for tmv.
Thomas could beat the shit outta the set also.
Only reason he isn't my favorite Queens of the Stone Age drummer is cause he's up against GOAT Grohl. Not really fair lol
5:08 lmao. Cedric trying to wrangle the mic after strangling himself with it and then Omar casually buttons up his shirt
cedric is the most enchanting person, can never look away. i always go back to this performance, i love how he just randomly grabs omar by the shirt and drags him across the stage... the faceplant.... everything. love all of it
This is easily the funniest Cedric performance. 🤣💀
One of the best
I think the funniest one is in 2010 at a festival, forgot which one but Cedric really didn’t care, his singing sucked you can tell they knew the crowd didn’t like their new stuff and Cedric was just hilarious in it 😂
People think Greta Van Fleet are on this level lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I know right? Prob the same people who think Nickelback isn’t that bad
Qué no mamen.🤣
No need to put other bands down.
I just saw that band at Coachella video and immediately came to this video because made me realize how great tmv is…
@@I.K.A.R.U.S Pinche Ikarus
i wish i wasnt 1 year old at the time 😩
That microphone hand switch at 14:33 though
Lol so quick
Holy shit 😳
The Mars Volta style
18:45 "Mi gato se esta quejando
Que no puede vacilar
Si donde quiera que se mete
Su gata lo va a buscar"
sublime
Canta Cheo
😂 una mezcla interesante
Don’t worry other lyrics makes no sense in English either
@@harryzack4115 Típico jeje

I was there.. I was 18 years old. Was also at the infamous ATDI BDO 2001 show (I was 15). Both blew my freakin mind.. never quite recovered. Still addicted. ;)
We were truly blessed by these guys, they were huge over here compared to the states. Thank's so much for the clean upload.
I’ve been watching the ten minute versions for too long and now you’ve gone and blessed me🤙
Now if we can just get the rest of the Cicatriz video and Drunkship. They exist. I just can’t find them.
Hahaha me too, for years.
Yess we need the whole thing!!
YES OMG YESS
Dangggg dadddy
Wow holy shit. I was like wow what’s the last 20 mins? And it’s still the song. What a fuckin session holy shit. Amazing
was there and still can't believe it went down
how is this band even for real
I was at this gig also it was rad. Mars Volta blew everyone away
at the time did you know you was watching 1 of the greatest proformances ever ?
@@jameshandley7197 Yes, it was that good. I remember being fixated on Theodore, because I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Felt like I was tripping (wasn't, just had some speed n weed). It was other worldly. The high lasted for months and I never really recovered.
@@fieldo85 lucky mofo I was in middle school when I first saw this video my friend showed me online I was hooked on band ever sense they blew my mind
Used to watch this live version of Roulette Dares every day when I was a teenager. Oddly, it would get me hyped up before break dance practice.
Me to
Loool dude what combination of drugs was Cedric on that day
Even 20 years later, Cedric still can't remember "ruse of metacarpi"
How high y’all think Cedric was? This dude face planted on stage on purpose.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 He was Wildin’ out!
Some artist don't need drugs to let the music take over
@@thiefonthecross7552 yeah but Cedric was high AF here
He was still dropping stuff back then, you can see those lost eyes on stage 👀 lol
When the album is brilliant but the performance of the album is brillianter
I saw them during the Detroit leg of this tour and they blew the openers off the stage. It is one of the top two shows I’ve ever seen!
8:29 this screech Cedric does is haunting
careful with that axe, eugene
@@growskull similar but Roger Waters just screeches atonally, Cedric is actually hitting notes
@@gumshake689 yeah but the tone is very similar and he was def inspired
We must accept TMV never can´t back with this music, Cedric/Omar they´re the front wheels and Theore/Isaia the back wheels, alderete the Driver and he have no license
Como los extraño, la energía, psicodelia, locura, los amo
Ellos están de regreso :)
@@rickgoethe me pone feliz
So sad the video ends too early, watching them has a special charm :D
Oh my God. Thank you for posting the entire set.
I just realized Cedric sings lyrics to Fahrenheit in the end of the Cicatriz Jam, "Genuflecting in the steeple".
Thanks a looooooooot!!!♥️♥️♥️
wow the peformance is just fucking intense
God DAMN I had such great taste in music when I was 15 🤣
Not sure there will ever be a band like this again. Absolute nectar of the gods!
true. i was just thinking the same thing. i started listening them at 14 and after all my experience and exploration of music through all the decades I've listened to since then, they are still the best...
There will come a time where rock emerges once again as the greatest and most passionate genre ever created. The band Yes was their equivalent back in the day, and then 30 or so years later these lovely angelic demons spawned out of nowhere. It will happen again!!! But we might be 60 years old by that time lol
Best TH-cam channel of all time. Thanks for the memories and moments. 🎸🎥🎧🔥❤
gracias por subir la versión completa sin ese maldito corte en plena candela de cicatriz
I love you man for posting this. Some of the highest energy for their live stuff
Marble shrine you are doing great work, sir.
Beautiful! Hairdos were on point!
GAD if i had a drumcam of this! Jesus Theodore was a force!
this period of this band is glorious!!! what a line up.
tremenda performace
graciassssssssss
Me encanta que todos están en el escenario bien locochones. Y el percusionista super aesthetic.
ERES EL MEJOR
27:35 Ambuletz lyrics!!
My buddy and I were at BDO 2004 mainly to see Muse and Metallica. Ashamedly we were too smooth brained to realise the talent of TMV at the time. However this performance was very memorable. We both genuinely feared for Cedric as he seemed completely fucked and trying to climb the rigging. Anyway the interest was piqued and can’t believe how fucking excited I was today to hear that there are serious rumours of a new release on the horizon!
Cedric is obviously high as hell here haha
@@stale_. Is high even the proper word? Haha
I distinctly remember showing the Cicatriz video from this performance to a couple people at a shindig 15 years ago. Before the video was halfway through people from different rooms of the house had made their way into my bedroom just so to investigate what the hell was going on and seeing Cedric deep throating the mic and face plant on the stage. One of my fondest memories of this band was just seeing the reactions of people hearing/seeing them for the first time trying to wrap their minds around what they were experiencing.
@@stale_. totally haha, what do you think was he on? i can't figure it out man lol
I'm thinking he was on MDMA.
They're so damn good live.
Yeah I think this is the best live performance ever
MV-FUCKIN-P!!!!!! Instant subscribe for sure!
Gawd i love uis voice
that groove they go into at 8:49 is so great
Melhor canal
Unreal
Si lo viste, lo vas a seguir viendo...
Half jam session half performance art
Incrível como parece um caos mas na verdade é matematicamente sincronizado. Fora a a energia desses caras no palco… que porrada!
Fuck YES WHEN THEY WERE SO YOUNG MAN
TMV: Guess you guys aren't ready for that yet…but your kids are gonna love it
"Sink your teeth into the flesh at midnight!"
I love that at 24:30 he starts singing a Brian Eno song... didn't expect that at all
in another recording he sings a bowie one in the same section lol
The Zeppelin of our times-minus the by then and now abused blues. Truly original. Nothing has come even close since.
How so, just out of curiosity? I love both bands, but fail to see or hear the similarities.
@@TheChance1991 Big everything, forward-thinking, couldn't give two-fucks about the mainstream, concept-galore-content.
@@TheChance1991 theres a lot of little similarities I think. Page and ORL are both insanely prolific riff writers, song structures are generally all just deviated pop/blues structures, both bands would use bridges for long form Odysseys and/or playing other songs in the bridges of whatever they're playing live. I can definitely see the parallels
@@TheChance1991 bro how can you not see the similarities? lmao
@@morrisalanisette9067 Hehehehe
ATDI will always be on the same level of originality in my eyes but was really just a prelude of the vision Cedric and Omar had for music. Fuck I miss these guys and just seeing the reactions of people when they had their Mars Volta cherry popped.
Everything changes when you get an Ikey tho
recently i listened to Brainiac - bonsai superstar and realized they almost sound like a prototype of atdi. cedric was on their documentary talking about them, so the influence was a lot. made me realize atdi wasn't as creative as i first thought
no le habia puesto like a este video
THE OG Band, Cedric; Omar, Juan, Jon, Key Owens. Good Days, man.
Don't forget Marcell
The probably don't make mics like they used to. damn.
12:40 daaaaaaamnnmmnnn!!!
I clearly have not been doing enough drugs to enjoy this…
John fucking Theodore.
2 minutes in & I’m bout to have a seizure from the editing of this video…. 🤣🤣🤣 there was absolutely no shortage of footage for this set.
11:20 cedric tf u sayin
It's from league of gentlemen - a UK surreal comedy TV show
I was at this gig. I was 18. I ate a microdot and an extacy. I don't remember anything from that day and especially fuck all from this gig. I'm front and centre and can see myself in this vid. Bit sad really.
Dig TMV but always think of that part in Get Him to the Greek when listening to them.
Hello Dave
I didn't think I had the attention span to make it through this, but it's like the exact opposite of Dave Mathews Band.
👊 🎭
Ya no le duele la cinturita 😂
No sé por qué tengo ganas de tomar falopa
x2
hahahaha
Cocaína, dimetiltriptamina y marihuana muy buena.
John Motherfucking Theodore everyone 🥁
I think cedric was still smoking crack during this time lol
Hahahaha oh man. I’m having a bad day and I really needed this laugh. They were such maniacs back then. Lightyears ahead.
What is the name of the song from 36:00? Please!
It's part of the Con Safo section of Cassandra Gemini but it's being played during Cicatriz, which was common for 2004 era shows.
@@TheMarbleShrine Not Con Safo though, that's the one from the end of Cygnus that is revisited after Miranda. This section is called Faminepulse I believe.
@@n.senada yes
God dammit I love Jon Theodore. Is there a more creative drummer?
No
How to make Legends: Advanced Course
17:55 cedric nearly hits omar on the back
12:38 ahí va Cerdric 😅
Is part of Cocatiz where a portion of scabdates came from?
Nah that ones from the Wiltern i think
Cocatiz xd
@@QwQ-qwq lol
Queens Of The Stoneage DONT DESERVE JON THEODORE!!!
Agreed!
i wish omar never gave him away
A young Tom Jones on drums
This wouldn’t have worked though if the rhythm section would have been as out of their minds as the rest of the band😂
There was a point in my teenage life at around my HS years to be specific, that there was this really weird, unfriendly dude just shittin' all over the people liking these performances in the comments, and I literally cannot wash my brain clean of the actual stupid, crazy ass shit he was accusing me of for just telling him to beat it; I really want to be able to look at TMV and not think of what an insane prick that one rando was trying so hard to be. People should just be able to enjoy music, and weirdo narcissistic freaks probably shouldn't be starting arguments with others online. People who can't find anything to like about something vaguely weird or interpretive seem to feel ridiculously personally threatened by the ones who make and enjoy those. YES THIS WAS LIKE ABOUT 14 YEARS AGO I'm just still fucking disappointed about it.
Sorry for the long ass comment plus dumb story
Cedric mustve been on something good
So edgy ..so intense
I mean its just noise most of the time
isnt music just noise?
High quality noise
@@gumshake689 most music has a discernible structure lol
your head is noise most of the time. WTF are you on about?!!!
@@trenken this does too, verse chorus verse chorus bridge verse chorus. just so happens that the bridge is 30 minutes long
Rock needs to come back to this level of intensity and passion.
they opening for Black Eye Peas??? In reality the black eye peas should be opening for The Mars Volta 🤣🤣 The Peas Suck!
graciassssssssss
