The red bean gel has been a favorite for me since it came out and I tried it on a whim! I have sensitive acne prone & combo skin, and I feel like gel creams are so great for sensitive skin because they are just so cooling and calming, so I love using them even in the winter over a thicker moisturizer. BOJ has a longtime customer from me for the red bean gel now! I'm curious about the amount of research vehind the red bean ingredient but the experience and feeling using it is enough for me
I love the Purito Oat Gel! I have used both the BOJ Red Bean gel and the Purito Oat Gel. I have dehydrated combination skin that is oily in the summer. The BOJ Red Bean gel was nice, but it did nothing to calm down my rosacea. Purito’s Oat Gel has those soothing qualities I need in my moisturizer. I find that using it during the day with a sunscreen over it is enough for my skin. At night I either use a cream or mix the oat gel with a cream, depending on what my skin needs that day.
Omggg so many epic battles!🤩 I’ve been wanting to repurchase the reform of Illiyoon (did not like the prev version) but you’re also selling me on the Aestura cream. This was the battle I’ve most been waiting for so thank you!! PKY Blue Label was so lovely and soothing in the harsh winter but it gave me closed comedones within 2 months. Based on that, I’ll have to pass on the PKY Black Tea but it looks divine. One of my key learnings from last year is to really understand which ingredients my skin loves and hates and stick to ones I love and have a minimalistic routine centred around that. I'll have to pass too on PKY because of their coconut use. It has a tendency to break me out and both products use either Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride or other form of coconut. I learned this the hard way with Joseon's Dynasty cream. Illiyoon might be something to try and not just on my hands! lol
I've recently started using the Aestura Ato Barrier and it feels divine on my skin. I'm combo/sensitive and I feel like this particular moisturiser is taking care of all my needs. I also slather it on my face after my retinal serum in the PM with great results. I hope this helps a little. That said, I'd be lying if I didn't say that I'm curious to try the Ilyoon cream too, although, after Kelly's analysis of it, maybe I feel a little less urgency to buy it.

I also find the new illiyoon much lighter than the aestura! How interesting. For me the oily ingredients of aestura sit in top of the skin and never really absorb, whereas my skin seems to drink the illiyoon in, and what’s left on the surface is a super thin and luxuriously soft feeling dimethiconey veil
I'm using the beauty of joseon red bean water gel, it's 1/2 already but i really love it even to reapply, it doesn't last very long but it's great for my sensitive acne prone skin, because sometimes if i use thick cream it made my skin breakout.

Finally! I am so curious how Aestura ato compares with the Illiyoon Ato. What is stopping me from buying the Aestura is the price. I'm from Canada so eveything is tends to be pricey but there is a $10 difference between them. If they are very similar then price is my deal breaker.
Ive used two of the illiyoon ones and recently got the Aestura after a Japanese kbeauty TH-camr Kayo recommended it and I love Aestura. I also got the cream mist which is similar to the Laniege cream skin mist but a bit lighter which I prefer
I agree so much with your review of Purito Oat gel-cream. I have very oily skin. I used this product during the summer. And even then - it just was not enough by far. It is more like a thicker gel-serum than moisturizer. It is definitely NOT a gel-cream. It is just a gel. It feels wonderful when first applied to the skin - so hydrating. But it immediately disappears and your skin will start to feel tight and lacking any moisture. I ended up using it this way - I took half and half this gel and another regular moisturizer, and used that mix. That was I was able to make it work. But I hate when brands use misleading product names. Just name it a gel. It is not gel-cream. One drop of squalene for this tube does not change a gel into a gel-cream. I certainly did not feel the oil in that gel, it must be miniscule amount.
My favorite part in my routine every night is my moisturizer which sounds bizarre but man since I’ve discovered Korean ones I have like 5 on a constant rotation depending how I feel. I love it. I never was able to use illyoon because the ceramide capsules just stayed on my face and never melted in which drove me nuts 🌰 my favorite texture is the Pyunkang Yul ATO cream. I keep the ATO lotion at my kitchen sink. The 2nd or 3rd ingredient in the lotion is Urea so I’m assuming it’s at minimum a 5% urea if not a bit higher. I love so many of your recommendations I’ve bought nearly all of them! Biggest fan over here!!💜💜💜💜

Be forewarned, it smells like straight up craft/Elmer's glue as you're putting it on. But it's a very comfortable effective cream for colder months without being too thick and heavy.
Glad you enjoyed! The oat cream is nice, but not quite enough occlusivity for my skin right now. I'll have to try again in spring but right now it's not doing it for me!
Kelly… have you tried the “newer” moisturizer by Dr. Sam’s? It’s called flawless moisturizer intense. It has a lot of good ingredients in it and I thought you might really like it. I do. I’m 58 y/o so I’m looking for anti-aging supportive ingredients along with hydration & moisturization. Thx to you I’ve been able to put together a routine that I love…not that this stops me from trying new skincare lol. Sometime could you elaborate on the difference between hydration & moisturization? I just can’t seem to grasp the difference.
Great video Kelly! Did not love the black tea enough for the price. Aestura is excellent for my dry, mature skin. One product I seldom see reviewed is Round Lab's Soybean cream; lovely texture and more richness than their Dokdo cream.
Yes, the soybean nourishing cream. I haven't used the reformulated Illyoon, but the Round Lab has the silkiest texture and is very moisturizing although maybe not as occlusive. The soybean serum is also terrific. I am 62 with very dry skin living in an area with a harsh winter climate.
It's so interesting to me that you call new illiyoon too emollient, but blue label "medium" weight. Old Illiyoon is def medium, but I hated new illiyoon bc I thought it wasn't moisturizing enough, I think maybe not occlusive enough on my skin. But I love PKY blue label bc of how thick and emollient and occlusive it is. (Gonna try the black tea one next bc of your previous video). I guess even different skin perceives the weight of products differently. Like you and a couple other skinfluencers think cream skin is too oily/thick but Dr cerucle is lighter, and I just have the opposite experience! Dr cerucle to me is hydrating and oily, but without the moisturizing/hydration locking benefits of being oily. So then I'm like, why did I just put that on my face......

Usually just products that strike me as similar to something I've already used. Either in how they are marketed or the ingredients. Like aestura is so similar to illiyoon in how it's marketed and the ingredients so that one just made sense to do!
The Beauty of Joseon has Saff flower oil, which is probably why. I tried the oat, and my sensitive Rosacea fungal acne skin hated it. The bean gel isn’y fungal avne safe due to the oil, but ordered it anyway to try.

I can't see copper tripeptide-1 on my PKY ATO cream's ingredients list. I can't also see it in the ingredients list you put on the screen. Please can you point out where it is? Have u tried using the BOJ or the purito as a primer step before makeup just a thought but it may make a good foundation primer . I already know u could layer it before a thicker cream if wanted . I just notice alot of hydrating primers are somewhat similar but not as good ingredients and it might be good as that step.

What about if you get closed commodones from almost everything and you cannot find the right moisturizer especially at night. My skin is suffering. I used niacinimide a yr ago and ever since it seems every thing is giving me commodones. I am stuck to a very minimal skin care routine sooo gentle I'm sure nothing is even effective. Kelly I need help. I'm watching all of your videos hoping I find something that won't trigger the commodones. I swear even squalane gives me them. Especially capryl triglycerides and even too many ceramides. I have tried rose hip oil a light layer on over my panthol water cream but nope closed commodones. Have you ever heard of this. ?
I forgot to add. I've used adapelene for almost 2 yrs and even after going slow I destroyed my skin barrier. I ended up with more texture and commodones. I stopped the adapelene and many of the commodones went away . I now use by wish trend pha and I percent salysilic acid wash the pink bottle and benzoyl peroxide 2 times a week leave on short contact for 15 minutes to affected area. My skin looks better but its not as hydrated or plump as it used to be I use the make prem hydrating toner I use mineral 89 hyloronic acid I use be plain ceamide serum and top off with aveeno oat serum and b5 water gel from skin n lab. This is not enough.
@angelicareynosa8052 hey there, using adapelene also broke my skin barrier. I dont use it anymore. The illiyooon ato cream and the ample N ceramide shot ampoule rescued my skin. I also used to get closed comodones and little white heads all the time. I started using Neutrogena advanced acne serum, and my skin soooooo is not congested anymore and hardly any kind of acne. It is very gentle, been using it for 2months everyday . I can't believe Neutrogena fixed my acne! Anyway, I hope this helps. Also, i dont wash my face in the morning with anything besides water in order to not strip my face. Using oil cleanser or a Jojoba seed oil massage a few times a week helps to melt blackheads and congestion, too. So at the end of the day if my skin is not moisturised enough (stripped by too many actives) or moisturised too much i will break out. We have to find a balance, please use few products at a time to figure out the balance. care
I bought the red bean water gel moisturizer and it's sticky and tacky after 20 minutes after applying. Is that normal, and how do I get rid of the stickiness

Like you and a couple other skinfluencers think cream skin is too oily/thick but Dr cerucle is lighter, and I just have the opposite experience! Dr cerucle to me is hydrating and oily, but without the moisturizing/hydration locking benefits of being oily. So then I'm like, why did I just put that on my face......

Usually just products that strike me as similar to something I've already used. Either in how they are marketed or the ingredients. Like aestura is so similar to illiyoon in how it's marketed and the ingredients so that one just made sense to do!
The Beauty of Joseon has Saff flower oil, which is probably why. I tried the oat, and my sensitive Rosacea fungal acne skin hated it. The bean gel isn’y fungal avne safe due to the oil, but ordered it anyway to try.
Kelly, I'd love to see what the hype over SKII is about. Do you have a this or that for products like that? A cruelty free dupe, perhaps? 🤔

I can't see copper tripeptide-1 on my PKY ATO cream's ingredients list. I can't also see it in the ingredients list you put on the screen. Please can you point out where it is? Have u tried using the BOJ or the purito as a primer step before makeup just a thought but it may make a good foundation primer . I already know u could layer it before a thicker cream if wanted . I just notice alot of hydrating primers are somewhat similar but not as good ingredients and it might be good as that step.

I’m confused 😕, I’m using cerave for mature skin at night my skin is dry . I want a thick moisturizer like cerave probably better consistency! What about if you get closed commodones from almost everything and you cannot find the right moisturizer especially at night. My skin is suffering. I used niacinimide a yr ago and ever since it seems every thing is giving me commodones. I am stuck to a very minimal skin care routine sooo gentle I'm sure nothing is even effective. Kelly I need help. I'm watching all of your videos hoping I find something that won't trigger the commodones. I swear even squalane gives me them. Especially capryl triglycerides and even too many ceramides. I have tried rose hip oil a light layer on over my panthol water cream but nope closed commodones. Have you ever heard of this. ?
I forgot to add. I've used adapelene for almost 2 yrs and even after going slow I destroyed my skin barrier. I ended up with more texture and commodones. I stopped the adapelene and many of the commodones went away . I now use by wish trend pha and I percent salysilic acid wash the pink bottle and benzoyl peroxide 2 times a week leave on short contact for 15 minutes to affected area. My skin looks better but its not as hydrated or plump as it used to be I use the make prem hydrating toner I use mineral 89 hyloronic acid I use be plain ceamide serum and top off with aveeno oat serum and b5 water gel from skin n lab. This is not enough.
@angelicareynosa8052 hey there, using adapelene also broke my skin barrier. I dont use it anymore. The illiyooon ato cream and the ample N ceramide shot ampoule rescued my skin. I also used to get closed comodones and little white heads all the time. I started using Neutrogena advanced acne serum, and my skin soooooo is not congested anymore and hardly any kind of acne. It is very gentle, been using it for 2months everyday . I can't believe Neutrogena fixed my acne! Anyway, I hope this helps. Also, i dont wash my face in the morning with anything besides water in order to not strip my face. Using oil cleanser or a Jojoba seed oil massage a few times a week helps to melt blackheads and congestion, too. So at the end of the day if my skin is not moisturised enough (stripped by too many actives) or moisturised too much i will break out. We have to find a balance, please use few products at a time to figure out the balance. care
