It might be easy for other artists to get a GRAMMY nomination but definitely not for BTS or any Asian Artist Or group who speak and sing primarily in their native language.
specifically when it comes to being nominated in relevant categories alongside other western and mostly English speaking artists.
For BTS ( or for any Asian artist for that matter) even being nominated is extremely tough and is a huge deal.
Sadly conditions are very different for Asian artists when compared to Western artists and that's a fact..

I hope you stay in this path, and even though the vocal line deasn't have official album or mixtapes yet, i hope you will choose to react to some solo songs of each member of the vocal line before you get to BTS group albums. I'm sure that when you'll react to the group's albums, the chemistry and connection in the songs between all the members will be more clear to you. Thank you for the reactions!💜

I had saved a devious meme folder with only the finest bts reaction memes and i kid you not, I CANT FIND IT. It's been 3 months since the tragedy
The attacks came mostly from EXO fans, the SM group that started a year earlier. While EXO is a great group, their fandom was allowed to run amok. All too many of them adopted a modus operandi of seek and destroy. Supporting and promoting their favorite group was inadequate. They felt they needed to diminish BTS so EXO could hog the spotlight with BTS being seen as flawed and inferior. And needless to say, once one side starts a fan war each side feels it has to come out victorious. This neglects the idea that artistry regardless of awards and sales is something intended for individuals to like or not like based on how it touches them, not some group think. Sadly, the internet much as with many things became a cudgel.
Now BTS is the group with most no of daesangs in the history of SK- 71 Daesangs. Also BTS is the SK artists with most no of album sales.
believe me, it was highly improbable for bts to even get nominated for the grammys, (it still kinda is to this day, let alone back then in 2018), because of the "boyband" stigma that unfairly surrounds them (even though i don't view them as a boyband) and the fact they're korean and sing in korean.
also, kpop artists only started selling 1M albums steadily after bts did it for several years straight so companies started employing tactics with a crap ton of different versions to boost sales numbers. bts were actually the first "kpop" (if you count them as such) artist to sell 1M copies with one pure album, and that was back in 2017 i believe. only after 2018/2019 do they start selling 2M+ in a week consistently. and then the rest of the industry followed because they didn't want to lag behind too much hahahah

When I became an ARMY, I was so hyped, it feels like I found a gem. I went on to check every articles about BTS, created a weverse and twitter account (and now IG too 😅) just to follow them. Twitter is hella toxic and I'm not even visiting other fandom's pages but their fans jump on every ARMY's tweet or trend just to trash talk BTS. I can't with them. They have so many time to waste. I don't deny the fact that there are toxic ARMYs too--- I mean this toxicity exists in every fandom---- but the amount of hate towards BTS and ARMY from Kpop fans is intense even until now because of jealousy.

In retrospect it does seem silly to doubt BTS but it's because we're looking in hindsight. Their's climb to the top was a slow and steady thing at first but there came a point where it started escalating so quickly that it was amazing to track. At the time, the haters doubted because ARMY and BTS had a vision that seemed impossible because of the giant "KEEP TF OUT WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE" sign that was on the gates of the Western music scene. It's was known that the US would let in very few Korean acts to get a taste of the scene but they weren't welcome to stay. They got bored very quickly and sent them packing soon after. The idea of a Grammy nomination was laughable. Not even a win. A nom. The idea that the Grammys would even look in the vague direaction of an idol group or even take the time to learn their group name would be surprising. To actually have them attend would be a big deal. But a whole nomination? To announce to the world that they are taken seriously enough to be recognized and listed as someone who could potentially win? That was seen as delusional. I know you know the industry enough to know it's all bull over at the Grammys but outside of the US that still holds some weight and reverence (though it doesn't deserve it). Of all people, that grubby group from a small company wasn't supposed to be the one to make it. There are so many shiny perfect idols from the prestigious Big 3 who should have made it instead.
So to have a group like BTS who were kind of rough around the edges (by kpop standards), not fitting the beauty standard for K-idols, and being themselves even when it's embarrassing or cringy, people saw them as messing up what it meant to be an idol. They were treated like the ugly ducklings who didnt fit with the group of other perfect idols. It aslo wasn't normal to see idols having to scrape by and climb their way to the top. The norm is to simply discover them at the top or watch smaller groups fade out and disband. It's offensive for haters to see BTS actually make it and continue to top themselves because even their faves who debuted with a golden spoon in their mouths failed to achieve so much. It pisses them off because they feel like their group was entitled to have what BTS has and it's an insult to watch them get it. Some are pissed because they think BTS should have gotten into the gate and pull the rest of the kpop industry over too. They don't get that BTS fans are here for the music so even if BTS wanted, they couldn't pull kpop over because music lovers often hear BTS and assume kpop is similarly great only to be let down. We often do given others a fair chance to prove their musical worth but then it's kind of catchy but vapid.
This video is too old so most of the things are from 2016 to 2019 looking at this man bts came so far and I'm glad I witnessed all of this

These Karma is an Army series is for fun and they (and XCeleste informative videos, and there was another old but good channel as well) came out way before Boracity came into the picture with more detailed info and receipts (boracity’s channel started in 2022). So I think you’re kinda spoiled haha. As more time passes, more content, tidbits revealed, etc., the more details we learn, so videos just become more informative over the years. For example, Outro: Tear is per lyrics a break up type song that go along with the theme of the Love Yourself: Tear album about the sad/darker aspects of love, where the year before, Love Yourself: Her is the positive/happier aspects of love. Anyway, two years after LY Tear album came out in 2018, we found out in BTS docuseries that was released 2020, Suga mentioned he wrote the melody(?) with BTS difficulty in mind (where the question of disbandment was brought up). For some reason, a lot of newer fans thinks it’s all about BTS disbandment, but Suga never said it was, just that it was sort of the inspiration he used and shared with the guys (which the guys cried). The moody opening piano notes actually came from previous BTS content from years before, which I don’t doubt Suga probably wrote (I just don’t remember details, I have to look back at sources). Anyway, Karma is an Army is just for fun, not that serious. You should just watch the other ones just for fun heh.

@@Jurnalist_ that’s understandable, I enjoy the original too. But Jhope made his own spin on it mixing English, Korean, and Spanish which turned out great. He also paid the original artist 2.7 million for the rights but released the song for free on soundcloud. He said he wanted to a version of this song because the song meant a lot to him while he was learning to dance (it’s also cool how he features a lot of local LA dancers at the end of the video). So, I hope you give it a shot.
I appreciate that you are interested enough in BTS to watch these types of videos, to get to know their journey more, but I kinda of wish that we weren't straying too much from the music. I really hope we are getting more music reactions soon, because BTS' discography is huge and I'm excited to hear what you think.
You asked where do they get the photos for the memes in this video? There is so much content on the Internet or TH-cam. Search BTS on YT and you'll see a ton of results. There's 9 plus years of them being on TH-cam so you can get a photo or image of them for a meme for anything you want. You talked about how much content is out there but I don't really think you realize how much. ❤️😆

10:45 I mean, there is a lot of work behind the videos put together (the AI voice makes them better) but we do know those meme moments like they are ingrained in our brains. Also BTS sometimes in some show, filming or something comment "oh, I bet army is gonna be at it again" when they have a ... meme-able moment. And indeed, army does their work T_T

Some of these doubts are less about BTS and more about K-pop not taken seriously… and that non-white none USA could win those awards and/or sell out tickets in landmarks usually given to other more known artists
Last time i saw the updates from Gaon ( korean main chart for physical albums shipments and sales ) BTS had 39M+ physical albums' sales ( and that's only their korean discography, they released the albums in Japanese which Gaon dont count )

But it can be exhausting to see again and again the same amount of hate torward BTS since 10 years. And witnessing all the innovative way some fandoms used to try to sabotage every BTS come back, every vote (and now solo projects). I have to say, being a total outsider of the Kpop industry, at first I was skeptical about this narrative "BTS vs the rest of the world" and thought OG Armys were obsessive with haters, but 3 years after, I have seen so much hurtfull thing by my own... Antis are so obsessive toward BTS, they try so hard to destroy them rather than supporting their fav. Someone should explain them that the war is over !

Yeah the fan wars in Korea have always shocked me. I think these are mostly Exo and Big Bang fans. I know a lot of hate has been targeted at BTS but it has in some cases been even worse toward girl groups. Very intense.

If you check their BTS singles discography on wikipedia, Dynamite has these achievements: KMCA: 2×Platinum, ARIA: 2× Platinum, BPI: Platinum, RIAA: 3× Platinum, RIAJ: 2× Platinum, *RIAJ: Diamond,* RMNZ: Platinum. It's for streaming. As far as I can tell, it's their only diamond right now.
