Fully agreed. How many versions herd of it and how much listened to it. I even had a dream where I met "The One Girl"(She 14, I 34 and married, were welcomen by her parent and while waliking in wedding-dress I had her smartphone play this music and.... wow!)

This is definitive the best version of this masterpiece!! I search them for a long time... I have an old recording of this version from a radio broadcast at 1979 at cassette ;-) but the tape is marode. Many thanks for sharing !!
Amazing to hear the original middle section! The ECM version is incredible...but this slow version has a lot going for it. More space for the fast strings.
It's interesting that he cut down the one section to just be a short series of connecting chords. I wondered why that was the one place where we get new chords that do not last.
Always knew there had been an extra section there, as it can be extrapolated from the overall structure and the short passage. Great to hear the original conception! Wish I could hear more about the history of this and how you got it?
My only criticism is that the bass in the final section should have been more pronounced and articulated as a clear I - V interval. It gets too washed out and the 1-5 makes it sound amazing. Too many recordings have the bass waver on the tonic rather than alternate.
Best piece of Reich. Pitty the sound recording is bad. The brass seems no part in here. Best performing is on a record of the eighties so far. Pitty you can't listen this record anymore on TH-cam only when you pay.

This version is too slow and sounds a little flat in my ears.
