Fantastic. Interesting how Reich has evolved from seemingly slow, stern and ascetic progressions to these playful, lively and thoroughly dynamic compositions without ever losing the hypnotizing attraction of his music.
Hi! Thanks for your comment. This performance actually features two groups, Ensemble Paramirabo ensembleparamirabo.com/en and Thin Edge New Music Collective www.thinedgenewmusiccollective.com/. I don't know if they have any plans to work together again soon, but I agree! They sound great together 🙂
An astonishing performance of what must rank very highly in Reich's corpus. Some real sonorous beauty, and extreme excitement here. Bravo for uploading this!
I'd heard this recording years ago and loved it. Listening once again, I realize that what I find very exciting is a certain energy I usually find lacking in the typically overpolished and somewhat bland NYC-style performances. Bravi!
Those are quite the well-worn sheets at 14:20! Too bad Reich hadn't composed this masterpiece before One Night Stand in 2006, I'm sure it would made the night even better.
probably the finest recording I've heard of the work, and with the full 12 person crew live at that! Bravo!
Wow, thank you!

And the unexpected lyrical nostalgia...
Birgit Bofarull It's so beautiful it makes me cry

It is incredibly awesome, one of the best performances I have ever heard. Wanna see more from this band
