Phenomenal Data Acquisition! Truly an amazing piece of technology that should be outfitted to each fire department.

If you don't mind me saying, your thermal sensor was at the wrong setting. It should be at the higher level since it is a structure fire where temps are a lot higher. This will give you a better overall picture of the situation. Hope this helps.

Amazing example of how the thermal sensor can provide critical burn patterns back to IC and how thermal well thermal radiation is not impacted by smoke. Thanks for sharing. John

Hey Garret, did your department work directly with DJI to acquire this equipment or was there a third party vendor that you all used. Our department would like to get the ball rolling on an asset like this.

Hey Garret! Our FD will be purchasing the M30 this year. Do you have any online classes, specifically thermal related? I have used the dual for three years with no issues, but would like some formal training to log.

Hey Justin, not any online unfortunately.

Hey. Garrett! What os the best way to deploy a drone at a structure fire? I am assuming upwind so you’re not obscured by smoke and getting sprayed, but also not in the way, either. I will be flying with my local FD for training soon and am just looking for some quick pointers.

There is only one way -- ALWAYS check in with the Incident Commander first. Wherever he/she is that's you primary purpose. If the IC doesn't have a preferred LZ location then your LZ should be at a location that you aren't interfering but can still perform batter swaps quickly. Never forget, when you are flying on emergency response, the information to decision makers (I.C.) is why you are flying on that incident in the first place.

This is actually the M30 Beta unit (before it had an official M30T moniker). Was field testing for DJI.
