  • After making a video on our Defender related equipment and gear we carry we received a lot of requests for a video on all the other gear we carry.
    Well here it is, we lay out every bit of gear and equipment we carry with us on our full time overland journey around the world in our Land Rover Defender and Four Wheel Camper.
    We hope this can help you in planning your own overland trip or even just give some ideas for a smaller trip.
    Note we are not affiliated with any of the brands we mention in this video but highly recommend them or we wouldn't have it with us.
    Join us as we travel the world overland, exploring the cultures and traditions of all the countries we visit.
    In our Land Rover Defender and Four Wheel Camper which is our full time home we will take you rock climbing, hiking and exploring across all the continents on this planet.
    If you enjoy the videos and would like to support our work please like and subscribe or join the team through our Patreon account.

    I have a ‘Bear bell’ on my pack and on my bike in the UK and it bloody works brilliant...
    Never seen a single bear 🐻 in about 10 years

      Ha ha that's what you call an efficient bear bell 😁
      I have Kangaroo whistles on my front bull bar and they also work great... Haven't hit one kangaroo since I left Australia 😜

      I kept the story a little bit more family friendly than it actually was.
      There involved a lot more "F" words and friendly abuse when it happened for real 😂
      We camped with them for the next few days and learned so much?
      Also got taught how to make an awesome bread and a mean Potjie 😉

    Just perfect setup. Even for me. But would swop msr boiling stow for something smaller not as efficient but more adjustable when hiking and climbing "expeditions".
    I did climb when younger but excited prevented me doing it still. I do hike when I have a chance. Still have (almost indestructible 75L) 25years old backpack. Still using it.

    • @leighdearle5965
      @leighdearle5965 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello mate 😉
      We chose the MSR Dragonfly specifically as it has a very good flame adjustment compared to other liquid fuel stoves.
      It can be adjusted from simmer to very high heat.
      I would never hike with a liquid fuel stove only the trusty Jetboil 😉

    Hi guys ! Thanks for sharing your trip, so inspiring !
    Question for Leigh : what is your LED light bar ? What brand / where did you purchase it, and do you use it frequently ?
    A video of you dashboard and electric system of your landy would be great ! I guess you have many switches, would be interested to see where you integrated it
    Have fun and thanks for sharing your life !
    Greg

    • @leighdearle5965
      @leighdearle5965 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest I don't even know the make of the light bar...
      It was a gift from the garage that rebuilt our Defender.
      To be honest we try to avoid driving at night so it never gets used and the cover stays on almost all the time.
      I don't think an LED bar is necessary unless you like driving at night in very remote areas.

      We bought it in France.

    Just curious, you refer to your Dragonfly as a diesel stove so I assume that's your main fuel for it. I've never used diesel in mine so was wondering if it produces much residue on the pots and pans or smoke while in use?

    • @leighdearle5965
      @leighdearle5965 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To use diesel for the Dragonfly it's a different jet nozzle.
      Doesn't produce any smoke and only a small amount of black residue on the bottom of the pot.
      It's such a good stove and we use it almost every day 😊

    Question, does the Vulcano mosquito coil say on the packaging what the active ingredient is? Most anti-mosquito products in the US don't seem to work well. Vulcano isn't a brand here but if the active ingredient is available in some other product then I'd like to try it out. Metofluthrin around 30% is apparently most effective, followed by a mixture of Oil of lemon eucalyptus (30%) and 65% PMD, followed by nearly 100% DEET, if a study from 2016 entitled _Efficacy of Some Wearable Devices Compared with Spray-On Insect Repellents for the Yellow FeverMosquito, Aedes aegypti(L.) (Diptera: Culicidae)_ is accurate.
