This was my 4th participation in the Wings for Life run. It's great fun while supporting a worthwhile cause. Sarah, great that you took part in Wings for Life in Vienna. I'm Austrian and I enjoy watching your posts on Running Channel!
Well done Sarah! I also participated from Uganda. The idea of having a car chasing you was both exciting and terrifying. I was also running at 2pm which is always hot! But all in all it was worthwhile. I am already looking forward to the one of next year.
@@hairyairey what time do your races normally start where you are? Here in Johannesburg South Africa the normal start time is 6am. So no time for a full English 😅
@@rodchitate the Great North Run has a historically unique start time of 10:40BST. From memory for the wheelchair and female athletes to set off first at 10:00 and 10:30 respectively. So I thought 7am would be fine. It wasn't!
I actually signed up for this because of your video about it a couple of months ago! I set out to do 12-14 miles but suffered some GI issues and made it only 8.2 miles. But it was fun and definitely different from anything I've ever done!
Well done Sarah! I did WFL in Poznań in 2018, got to 25km. Also tried doing the app run last year but it didn't work very well on my old phone. But it's a great event which is well worth a try at least once!
@@runningchannel you know what I will. It looks like it will be a hoot. I just looked at the website and it's not here in Australia. A perfect reason for an overseas trip

@@runningchannel at my current fitness level, not a chance, but in the future it does sound like a fun idea. It reminds me a bit of the "Zombies: RUN!" app.
I've done this the last few years (always as a virtuak run) and it's pretty good fun! I'd be keen to try it with a a real catcher car, if they restart such events in the UK.
When you'd been caught you could go back to the race village and collect your medal 🙂 You could keep running but we don't think many people took that option 😅
@@runningchannel I would if I was running with Sarah she exudes joy all the time. Or Anna. Or Rick. Maybe not Kate and Andy though I'd die at their pace, still love them though!
Well done Sarah 🙌🏼 And that’s so cool that they start at the same time around the world! But also, how do you then go back to where your stuff is etc? Obviously in a normal race you either finish where you started or the bag van goes to the end of the race…what happens when everyone finishes at different places?
That's an idea I might do🤔🤔 and bring my disabled son and push him ... Or supercharge his powered wheelchair 😂 Not cheating just taking advantage of the situation 😊😊

Wow that's really impressive running in that heat Jovia! So glad you enjoyed it, it's such a great event for a brilliant cause 😄

What a good way to run, running for those who can't. Way to go.
Interesting combination isn't it 😂 It is a beautiful moto

Absolutely loved doing this, can't wait to do it next year again!
Great vid as always :)
That’s one heck of a thumbnail image!!!
I've done a Wings For Life race. The organizer did a WONDERFUL job organizing it.
Faster,,, faster,,, and faster,,,

Hello DJ
I like your remix music
Your wonderful gift of being able to smile through most anything is infectious Sarah! Well done on this girl, you kicked butt 💪🏻🌻
U are an amazing and inspiration to other runners maam.
I would be screaming like an idiot when that car got close. Full on school playground mode.
I think we all would Vivian 😂 like a terrifying game of tag 😂
Great race Sarah! Smashed it.
Clearly she made 20km but at the end of the video. I was on the edge of my seat. Thinking omg omg will Sarah make it.
Thanks Marc! You going to give it a go?

Amazing! Congratulations Franziska 👏 What a memorable first first run 😀
It really looks like fun and hell at the same time!
Amazing running Sarah, love the video
Cheers 🥂 to a Wonder woman, giving her all, while keeping the fans in the loop!
Yay Sarah
That is genuinely scary, but the adrenaline rush must be huge. Brilliant clip.
Thanks Rob! Think you'd enjoy a race like this?
That looked AMAZING!! I have to find one within driving distance of me! As always, love your energy and attitude!
What was Sarah's finial distance? Did Sarah hit her A goal?
She got to 19.2km 🙂 Would you give it a go?
-> title ;) 20k and you may check strava. Even pacing would've brought her further :)

Looks fun and stressful! Was the course a big loop, or did you have far to go back to your hotel or whatever after? Post run party?
Once you got past a certain distance there was a shuttle bus to take you back to the race village where you could celebrate and collect your medal 😀
Amazing run, Sarah! Knowing you are running in Vienna I would have been there cheering! 😀 Seems now I am motivated to to try it next year. 😂
Give it a go Silvia! Think you would run further with a car chasing you?

I am from India and what is term and condition to participate in such race.
I so want to do this race, hmmm dilemma I have my 1st ever marathon a week after this, should I sign up?
This reminds me of a book I read as a teenager called The Long Walk, The Bachman Books. A book of short stories by Stephen King.
Omg I want to run this now. Can't imagine the adrenaline ahahahaha "it's a fleet" made me laugh so much.
That’s awesome! But I can totally understand the nerves being on end while going!
I seen the thumbnail and immediately thought Mark Zuckerberg was running??!🏃♀️😅
That looked like a fantastic event!!
Oh wow, really well done!!
Thanks Vivien! Would you give it a go?
Great footage.
Thanks Simon!
How far did you go and how long did it take please Sarah?
well done!! but I have a question to this can you still run behind the Car or is it completly finished?
