I'm #TeamMary, a sacrificial.lamb that wouldn't get very far. Might barely manage to break into a sweat. Good on her though for representing those of us at the back ♥️
I did something along the lines of this where the racers were split into groups of two, one was zombies and one was humans. We were categorized based on our pace so that the fast zombies wouldn't just terrorize everyone. We were also given a tag that represented our life/brains. The humans would go 2 minutes before the zombies, and if we kept our life, we won. If the zombies got three tags, they won. The course was winding, so we got glimpses our our zombies now and again (mine wore zombie makeup). The best part was that it was a rainy morning, which made the ambiance like that of a horror film. Fear is a good motivator!
1st Wings for Life 2018 (Munich): 12km 2nd Wings for Life 2019 (Munich): 16km 3rd Wings for Life 2020 (virtual): 19.6km This year the Halfmarathon has to be done! 😬
Aaaahaaa, the subtle act of handing over the trophy to Kate in the beginning 🤣🤣🤣 and it only got better. I’m seriously worried about Anna, the sense of power seems to have gone a wee bit to her head 🙀 Great challenge, superbly fun video! Thank you, all you good people of the Running Chanel! 👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
Great video, lots of fun to watch. Well done to everyone who took part! I did WfL in 2018 in Poznań, Poland, completing 25km. The Catcher Car was driven by Polish ski-jumping legend Adam Małysz.
Great concept. I think that you could improve this by doing it by handicap allowing the slowest to leave first based upon a set time (you have times and distances from this event) and the fastest last of course. You could then add in the cyclist pursuer for extra drama. I used to take part in a monthly handicap with work colleagues. Most fun ever.
Great suggestion Michael and thanks so much for watching! Not sure I could have run much further than I did... it was a pretty all out effort for me 😂😂😂. But love the idea of a handicap making it a bit more of a level playing field!
That was absolutely FANTASTIC! Something any club/group of friends could do. Flipping well done! Also.. Anna was CLEARLY enjoying herself far too much!! Hilarious!!
Mucho respect for Mary and what a lovely smile and accent! My prediction for Sarah was 25 mins but I didn’t know enough about the current fitness levels of Kate and Andy to guess properly but I thought both would have to be maybe an hour? Well done to all though for a great effort and raising some money for a good cause.
All signed up already too. I was aiming for 5k when I signed up in March, but might try 7k or 8k. I've disliked running my whole 45 years of life, but I challenged myself to a zero to 5k training back in November. Loving running and your channel now, thanks!
Anna you deserve the Trophy for a being the winner and for b catching everybody. Anna your the winner, you deserve a double Trophy for a (catching Sarah before 5km, and b (catching Andy before 10km) Love the video, awesome Anna your the champ.
LOL - so many [mental] shouts now for reeling in folks on a race. "Ha ha haaaa! Sarah's look of fear over the shoulder!!"; "Run rabbit, run rabbit run run run!".
Like button hit. Absolutely loved the video. Anna is a little scary when she is about to catch ya. I read about Rick, thats a shame. I would have loved seeing Anna chase down her arch nemesis.
Perfect entertainment while recovering from a club training session this morning. On a different subject I suggested doing a Barkley-style contest - given it's easier for everyone to meet now lockdown is easing, could you find somewhere with pretty hilly terrain to hide books around?
Great video guys! Reminds me of an old show called the Interceptor that was on in the 80's on ITV (showing my age). Contestants being chased by a guy on a helicopter.
What a great video!!!! It looked so so so much fun, I did something similar when I was in the air cadets! Mary, so nice to see you on a video after your wonderful replies to our comments. Sarah you have certainly stolen my heart with your lovely smile, oh and great turn of speed. Kate, great effort and nice pacing. Andy, I wish I could run as fast as you. But Anna, you looked like you were having the most fun, though slightly scary!!! Wonderful video, one of the most fun for a while!!!
@@runningchannel Loved this challenge. How about something like the Berkley Marathons!!?? They have to do 5 loops (of a rough distance), and collect 5 pages from 5 different locations on each loop, each loop a different page (i.e page 47 from each book!). They are only given a rough map of where each book is, no watch and a cut off time for each loop! Just watch the documentary 'Where dreams go to die' to get the gist of what I am say.
We do a similar thing most years on my cross country team except the chasers are the fastest people on the team, and the head start is based on 5k time difference. The chasers however can go at whatever speed they can which usually leads to a very fast first mile.
Just signed up! Remember reading about it last year and thought it sounded like a great idea but it didn't fit into my training, thankfully this year it does!
I watched this while running on a treadmill at work and I just laughed out loud. Such a brilliant video! Does The running channel have a Wings for life- team one could join?
Another great challenge and fun to watch everyone constantly checking over their shoulders everytime they heard a bike coming. The team should try the 4x4x48 challenge.
Anna looked like she had so much fun I have volunteered to be the chaser cyclist for my partner's running club for this event. I'll have to set up a speedometer, should be ace!
@@runningchannel thanks, I'm sure I'll have a great time, especially chasing the more speedy runners down! As an aside what app/speedometer was Anna using? It was really clear to read
That was so good!! I can imagine this is terrifying - is the bike about to catch me 😱😱 Well done all, brilliant running and a seriously scary bike chaser!!! 🤣🤣
Think I may just have a new favourite running channel video! Great efforts from everyone and well done to Mary on her new fastest mile! 😁 Amazing video!
Great idea. I think that I might want to do something like that with a few volunteers from my running club, as soon as the numbers of covid infections go down again.
Will you be joining the race? How far do you think you can go? Let us know in the comments below
The Running Channel
I think Anna would catch me straight away.
I'm #TeamMary, a sacrificial.lamb that wouldn't get very far. Might barely manage to break into a sweat.
Good on her though for representing those of us at the back ♥️
Even more exciting at 2x playback speed!
Suggested we do this at my running club
Already signed for it, planing to get 20k.
“ about a minute in and I’m the human sacrifice “ omg that line has me laughing so hard. I love this race idea
That got me up in my feels. The struggle (as a back of the packer) is real 😂
Good on Mary, the social media Queen! Proving you don't have to be fast to compete and to have fun!

Ooooh that sounds awesome Megan!
That sounds AWESOME!!
Anna’s obviously been watching all the horror movies to practice for this.
😂😂
Having child hood flash backs of the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang 😝
@@Tara_Masika this is so accurate
Never thought Anna could say so many creepy things. Scary that one
Congrats, Mary for your PB! ( and being the human sacrifice among those wolves).
Anna was a little scary 😂. Got to love Sarah’s tactics. Great video
Haha thanks for watching!
OMG, she was so scary! LOL

Ahh amazing! Best of luck for this year!
Clearly Anna was the perfect perfect option as the Catcher 🤣 this looks like so much fun.
That’s exactly how I would describe Kate: “general running badass!!” She’s so quick and strong!
Mary is the QUEEN! I'll be dead if I had the fastest mile split but you talked to the camera at the same time, with a smile! Good on you!
Thanks Josie!
Anna... I think you enjoyed that way too much 😂😂😂 very funny.. well done all!!
Haha being the chaser is a very fun job! Thanks for watching 😊
Yeah ... She was evil and sinister! Brilliant!
I never thought we'd see Evul Anna. The power of The Horn is real!
😂😂😈
Can we appreciate Mary's effort! That smile!
Yes, PB too!

10/10 to the drone operator
Thanks Scott! Stay tuned for some more epic drone shots in tomorrow's video!
This looked so much fun. Loved Anna's evil chuckles as she caught each runner. Well done The Running Channel 🙂
Thanks so much! It was tons of fun to make this video 😊
Brilliant video guys!
Anna: I spy a Sarah!
Sarah: S*@T!
LOL!
Haha - yes! So glad you enjoyed it Josh 😊
Anna's commentary on the bike was so funny, I loved it! 😂🚲
Great video, lots of fun to watch. Well done to everyone who took part!
I did WfL in 2018 in Poznań, Poland, completing 25km. The Catcher Car was driven by Polish ski-jumping legend Adam Małysz.
Amazing, thanks so much for sharing!
4:42 Sarah sounds like me when I was on that obstacle race team. My tactic was to keep up with our strongest runner while not dying.
Haha great tactics!
That was awesome! I think Mary is my new hero we should all try that hard
Anna definitely speeding there. That extra half a mile per hour made a big difference. Andy deserved that 10k!
Watching this three years later - Missing Anna.

I like how Kate was holding on to that trophy lol - I would have done the same! this was fun to watch and probably even more fun to run.
Thanks so much for watching Lina!
someone was having WAY to much fun and it was'nt the runners. Love the idea must admit never heard of this
Haha! Thanks for watching Lee!
Give more room to Sarah, she has a talent 👏
That was absolutely FANTASTIC! Something any club/group of friends could do. Flipping well done! Also.. Anna was CLEARLY enjoying herself far too much!! Hilarious!!

Lol how stressful! I would scream. It would be very dramatic when I got caught.
Haha it was very scary! 😂
Andy’s shriek after “I need a loo stop” 😂😂 So familiar!
😂😂
He would’ve made his 10k target if he didn’t have that loo break.😂😂
I love this channel!!
Me too
Fastest Mile! Woo woo! Great job 🥇. I love it when that happens on a run 👍
Mary, well done on your PB.
Wow, what a great race. Well done everyone! Anna, I think you enjoyed that challenge quite a bit!
I love the team and this channel.
Thanks Joseph!

Glad you enjoyed it, Mark! We had so much fun making this 😊
Thank you for thinking of others and warning them about the air horn ❤
This was excellent! Anna had me cackling along with her!
Anna is positively scary in this..especially chasing Sarah....this could be a movie!
Catching up on my running channel viewing that was excellent, from mary sacrificing herself to the steven king inspired joy of anna at the end. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it! It was so much fun to film this 😊
This was fantastic! Loved watching it. Fun idea and for a great cause.
Evil Anna, lol! Brilliant race by all!
You guys have astonishing cinematography. I think that’s the right term. Awesome episode. Awesome cause. Love you guys!

Interesting concept. I know I'd be pushing it if I had one of you chasing me down on a bike. Enjoy your videos and look forward to each edition.
Thanks for watching Eddie!
Well done everyone! So much fun to watch!
That was SO much fun! My adrenaline would be sky high, being chased.
How good was it to see an Olympian being just like the rest of us? Go Andy!
Aww thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video 😊
What a great video. Very funny. Well done all !! I love Sarah´s tactics and her shoes (Hoka Mach 4).
That looked brilliant!! Lovely route to run, and great effort from you all. Anna you was a bit scary 😂😂
I love it, always a new Running Channel video at the start of my weekend.
Perfect entertainment while recovering from a club training session this morning. On a different subject I suggested doing a Barkley-style contest - given it's easier for everyone to meet now lockdown is easing, could you find somewhere with pretty hilly terrain to hide books around?
Great challenge idea - thanks Andrew!
Awesome video! Lots of fun to watch and great charity. Maybe I’ll run the ace next year. 😃
Thanks so much for watching!

is it just me or was anyone else surprised to find out that Anna is not the MD of the running channel?
One of the most enjoyable RC videos so far
Go on Mary!!! She's my spirit runner. ❤️
Awww - thank you 😊
That was such a fun heartwarming episode :)

Amazing! Best of luck for it!
I was so excited for this video 💓 please make a separate series for this sort of race!!! Please please please!
Great suggestion, thanks!
would love to see more of Mary in the videos :)
Thanks so much 😊
Awesome stuff guys!
Thanks so much!
Great to see everyone out to support a great cause! Makes the effort worth it😎
Mega fun video. Anna was like “broom” riding! Hahhahhah! Nice one! Love you guys and girls!
I watched this while running on a treadmill at work and I just laughed out loud. Such a brilliant video!
Does The running channel have a Wings for life- team one could join?
Yes!!! I love Wings for Life. This will be my third year participating
Fantastic Devin! Enjoy it 😊
Another great challenge and fun to watch everyone constantly checking over their shoulders everytime they heard a bike coming.

Think I may just have a new favourite running channel video! Great efforts from everyone and well done to Mary on her new fastest mile! 😁 Amazing video!
This looked a lot of fun to put together. Great viewing too. Keep up the great work team
Thanks Thomas! Was definitely a very fun day of filming 😁
Phenomenal efforts - especially by sarah back then
Am sure she’d probably match Kate now
Outstanding pace from Andy but perhaps hiding in a bush until Anna passed so he could complete that 10k would have been the smartest tactic 👍
Haha great tactic Tony!
Really enjoyed that...never before have I been shouting kick on like I was at Andy 😂 Looked like brilliant fun. Well done to all!!!
Thanks David!
What a perfect challenge! All for a great cause! You are all incredible! Thanks for sharing this.
Great challenge and video with some lovely scenery and shots. Where did you run it? And yes, I'll sign up!
Thanks Ann! We were filming in Bedford 😊
Brilliant work guys as always...get fit soon Anna ❤
Thank you 😀
Kate 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
OMG you guys are so competitive and fun 😂 would love to try this with my friends ✌️
Much improved video guys! Stirling effort from all the runners, good on you Mary!! 🙌
Thanks Jamie!
😂 That was the most funniest and fun race I’ve ever witnessed. Great idea!! 😃
So glad you enjoyed it! Have you got an idea for a new challenge for us?
brilliant!! excellent work entertaining us while doing a pretty hard run and awesome editing, too. and stunning drone shots!! thank you! subscribed!
Glad you enjoyed it Daniela! It was SO much fun to make this video 😊
I think sadistic Anna enjoyed that :) great Vid. as always :)
We think she did too 😂
Love this challenge!!! The cause and the fun LOL!!!!
Great idea. I think that I might want to do something like that with a few volunteers from my running club, as soon as the numbers of covid infections go down again.
Nice one! Do let us know how it goes 😊
Excellent content once again
This was FANTASTIC!! I was wondering what the other trail users were thinking hearing the air horn. Lol Congrats to everyone!!
Thank you Kelly!
Anna’s evil monologuing has drawn me back to this video multiple times
Great video, love the concept of a chase and great cause.
Thanks so much for watching Chris!
Well done, fabulous running by all 👍
Anna is so funny, love the challenge.
Thanks for watching!
That was awesome! Great effort Andy. 🏃♂️
anna VERY ENTHUASTUC and great effort from Mary Sarah Kate and andy the winner . BUT the QUESTION we are all asking is WHERE IS RICK ?????????
Thanks Daniel! Rick is injured at the moment, but an update from him is coming soon 😊
YEAH! I can't wait for the Wings for Live race this year. I'm gonna partake in the virtual event. My goal is to run 5K before getting caught.
Sounds awesome Luis! Good luck!
