This one is about a good man that went on pilgrimage to Santiago, whose son was hanged in Tolosa, and Saint Mary brought him back to life.
"It is the Lady's will that he who swears in vain should be punished."
Herein I will tell of a great marvelous miracle that Saint Mary performed in favor of a German pilgrim who went to Santiago, who is patron of Spain; through Rocamador he came to the city of Tolosa.
He loved Saint Mary above all things and, because of this, he often prayed for her to protect his son and him, for she was the mother of Christ, who is God in Trinity.
When he arrived at Tolosa, they went to stay at the home of a great heretic, of whose heresy the good man knew nothing. When the people saw this, they were very distressed, and said unto the son: "Leave that house at once."
The misbeliever, who was full of evil and deceit, every year would perform new acts of falseness. So that the good man would not leave his house unharmed, he secretly took a silver cup and hid it inside the son's bag. As they left, he quickly ran towards them, shouting loudly how they had taken his newly burnished silver cup, and when he reached them, he shrieked "Stop at once!"
The pilgrims were shocked at this, because they saw the judge approaching with his armed men, who then restrained them. They were searched thoroughly until the cup was found; this is the truth.
The heretic swore that that cup was his, and that the young boy who carried it had stolen it from him. The judge, full of fiery anger, said without doubting: "Hang this boy."
His cruel men did so quickly, without any pity for the father's anguish. As he saw his son at the rope, the man entrusted his soul to the Lady of Grace and left for Santiago, as he had promised. On his way back, he did not forget to visit the place where he had left his son, who had been so gravely betrayed, and whose body still hanged. The father looked awhile, and wept.
As he grieved, his son said to him: "Father, my father, good man: do not despair, for I am alive. I am guarded by the Holy Virgin, who sits besides the throne of God, and held me in her hands through her great mercy."
When the father saw his son speaking thus, he ran to bring the judge and drew a great crowd, so that they may see his living son, who had been cruelly put to death. But this was not what the Virgin allowed, for she strikes down the wicked and raises up the good, and so she held him up with her hands, that he may not hang by his throat. The man said: "Hurry, unhang him!"
They all went, and so did the father, eager to relieve his living son. As they brought him down, they saw he lived, and made such loud and bitter cries that it was necessary to tell them: "Be quiet."
When they became quiet, the son told them what had happened: how he had hanged for three months, how the Virgin protected him all throughout, and then he told them the truth about the whole affair. He pleaded: "Bring that heretic along; he hid the cup in my bag so that I would face a cruel and lowly death; but it was not so, for such was not the will of the Virgin Mary. She instead wished that I live; praise her greatly for this.
All the people then searched Tolosa for the heretic, and when he came, full of shame, he told the truth aloud. He was put to death by fire.
Like so did the Mother of God intercede on behalf of that good man, and made great justice, for he was a true and loyal man. She gave him back his son and gave the heretic the death he earned through his wickedness.
Because of this, oh friends, let us praise her greatly, for she always consoles the sorrowful and forgives the sinful, and is good to all, old an young. Because of this, always praise her great miracles.

Absolutely charming!!! Thanks for sharing. It's very hard to find these lovely ancient music performances. The beginning of the piece is kind of creepy, but the rest of the cantiga is dreamy.
