- Uncover the story of the Bennerley viaduct, a masterpiece of Victorian engineering and Britain's longest wrought iron viaduct. Built in the 1870s, this iron giant spans the Erewash valley and survived the impact of a rare Zeppelin attack during World War I

Excellent
Great nice to see you moving into more different history too
Yet another wasted railway route. Commencing at Burton upon Trent through Derby and on to Nottingham it created a direct route from the West Midlands to various parts of the East Midlands such as Nottingham and service towns like Ilkeston. It would now have been great value to the rail network.
Take the dog over there most days
nice.
The UK officially switched to the metric system of measures in 1995. For someone, meters are better perceived than feet. 🙂
......for others rods, poles, perches, chains, yards, feet, and inches are perfectly acceptable and have the advantage of not being "Continental" (or foreign). It was the politicians who decided for us, as per usual -- so pleased that you approve.
@@wossisname4540 Then it's time for you to switch back to Crowns, Shillings, Groats, Florins and Guineas.
2:02 What's that funny-looking road system on the left?
It was once an industrial works and the roads were internal within it.
It was the site of Bennerley ironworks
The land was last used as a coaling plant where merry go round trains came in and out and the roads were part of the plant .
Yes, but the viaduct was built to imperial measurements, feet and inches. Converting imperial into metric measurements, removes some of the magic...
Yes. It might make it not fit properly anymore.
