12000 dead civilians i think is a little more tragic than your 53 airman. Britain was definitely war criminals to
Definitely not the most daring mission of ww2. That would be d day or Okinawa

Hidden dungeon featured in at least three TH-cam videos.
Rhys wouldn't have been pronounced like that. Since it's a Welsh name the correct pronunciation would be Rh-uh-s (a rolled rh also)
Forgot to mention how they maintained the low altitude at night over black water, they had 2 spot lights pointing straight down at slight angles, when they were at correct altitude, the 2 circles would become one, as they get lower the circles come together as lights on angles. This was only way as you couldnt always define where the water was at night
Never mind the criticism, we all know, over 70 years later, what they did is still known to today's teenagers. Remember, a lot of these crews were teenagers or early twenties themselves, boys, which were what these guys were, what they accomplished at the same age as today's teens, made them the greatest generation ever. Could you imagine today's wimpy, phone watching and texting lads who are often without jobs, mentally unstable because they use too much weed, feckless, rising up to do such heroistic efforts, even volunteering to do so? I don't think so!
You forget that those lads fought to make it so the lads you describe could become the way that they are 😂
Never smashed the dam, blew like a depth charge...
If I remember correctly it would hit the damn the slide down to the bottom and explode causing more damage,
@gulfcoastaero8048 aye
Man that's creepy, they must've had a good tale or true story to make people fear that specific cave so much but we'll sadly never know it. Or it was one schizo lunatic who believed he was saving the world by keeping the demons from entering our dimension.
Symbols of oppression is all they are…. To serve as a reminder… 🏴🏴🏴 YMA O HYD…
It took great effort to design and build that structure and the vision of local people to preserve it , but already a local retard has sprayed the new brickwork with paint .
A remarkably poor narration..
Post war re assessments downplayed the raid as a largely propaganda victory pointing out that the Germans rebuilt the damage done in only 5 months. Dan Snow in his 2013 BBC article restores the balance. The raid did huge damage, in particular pulling resources from the construction of Normandy coastline defences. The propaganda boost was huge, not least in demonstrating the sheer ingenuity and flying skill required. Worth watching just for the sound of those Rolls Royce engines and the final shot of the restored Lancaster.
Very informative ! Thank you! 👏👏😊
Proposed to my wife at the top of the kings tower, still going strong 23 years later
Um im going there in january on a school trip overnight
I am related to one of the Knights Templar sent on the third crusade. The old one that died in battle a world away, because he put up a fuss giving up his land and seat to the child prince/ king Edward. The crown sent a 60 yr old man to crusade as a type of punishment, I believe.
Definitely haunted....
Truly a great mansion!
BLIMP!
Please stop with the bbc style of presenting, its just cringe
Take the dog over there most days
Yet another wasted railway route. Commencing at Burton upon Trent through Derby and on to Nottingham it created a direct route from the West Midlands to various parts of the East Midlands such as Nottingham and service towns like Ilkeston. It would now have been great value to the rail network.
2:02 What's that funny-looking road system on the left?
It was once an industrial works and the roads were internal within it.
It was the site of Bennerley ironworks
The land was last used as a coaling plant where merry go round trains came in and out and the roads were part of the plant .
A brave move to present this as it's not your usual cosy history.I I have read somewhere that there was a greater number of casualties per head of population in the Civil War than in WW2. 2.
Yes, but the viaduct was built to imperial measurements, feet and inches. Converting imperial into metric measurements, removes some of the magic...
Yes. It might make it not fit properly anymore.
The UK officially switched to the metric system of measures in 1995. For someone, meters are better perceived than feet. 🙂
......for others rods, poles, perches, chains, yards, feet, and inches are perfectly acceptable and have the advantage of not being "Continental" (or foreign). It was the politicians who decided for us, as per usual -- so pleased that you approve.
@@wossisname4540 Then it's time for you to switch back to Crowns, Shillings, Groats, Florins and Guineas.
Great nice to see you moving into more different history too
how freaking cold these places must’ve been
Excellent
After all these years the privatisation of the railways hasn't taken us forward but backwards shareholders have taken away the money for improvement profits will always come before investment.
nice.
That be Edward 1st....😮
And now we can’t even win a rugby match! How things have gone down hill for 🏴 Wales.
