Your talent for watercolor is incredible. When I need a break from life I turn one of your videos on and escape into your painting. Thank you!
Wow, thank you!
Funny I do to
So do I 😂 I also have a couple of other artists I follow I do the same with. It’s the calmness in your/their voices. Four English (one male) and one Australian
FANTASTIC...!!! As always... 👏🎶📽️🖋️📖🖌️🎨
My son would love this as a Christmas card! Brilliant!

This is lovely! Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome 😊
Great video, Karen! Discovering the concept of using a limited color palette has genuinely transformed the way I approach watercolor painting. A suggestion to simplify choices by narrowing down the color options is, indeed, a game-changer. It's fascinating how this approach not only reduces choice paralysis but also fosters a more intuitive painting process.
Thank you so much for sharing that, I totally agree!
Ciao and Merry Christmas Karen
Your videos are always very informative! Thank you! ❤

you're an amazing artist and teacher! thank you so much
You are so welcome!
Your style is amazing. I am glad to see these paintings without pencil. I was trained as a pencil artist but I gave it up cause it felt boring, but seeing paintings like this is amazing, exciting, and also surprising. I particularly like this style with NO pencil. I will be studying all your videos in detail, was also wondering if you have a book on this style with no pencil. Is it considered "free form"? And was wondering if this NO pencil style is mostly always done wet on wet?
Even your paintings with a pencil used as outline are very dreamlike and beautiful in a creative way. Something that is often not the case in a lot of styles I see.
Your work shows that there are ways to use a pencil and still make the painting a painting and not just a drawing of a photograph so am keeping and open mind, but I am mostly interested in this style that only uses a paint brush.
I got water colors a month ago and have done about 150 paintings, nothing good, but I am mostly practicing and your paints are by far the most inspiring. That Milky Way painting is one of the most incredible things I ever saw.
Do you have any advice for developing a style that uses NO pencil and just the paint brush? Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing. I do love painting watercolours without using an outline. You may like my abstract playlist, many of the tutorials are painted without any pencil lines:th-cam.com/play/PL9SDXeoiXZQRUPEL6n_QOfwTJ6Yz2HZyt.html&si=twaSMNWKk0KxaUMQ
Now I am stressed to be stressed free!!! 🤣🤣🤣
And your technique with the rock is very amazing to me BTW. I never consider using it to achieve such a texture!
You can do it 😊

Thank you so much!
You're welcome 😊
Wonderful video. I bought some watercolors on a whim and painted some simple Christmas cards. I struggle with knowing when to keep adding and when to stop. I'm not "creative" at all but am enjoying the process.
Thanks for sharing. I always say to my students, less is more and allow painting to dry in between stages 😊
Amazing, Karen and so simple!
Thank you 😊
Love it 😊💖
This is stunning, i love it ❤❤❤
Thank you so much 😊
Just beautiful!
Thank you so much 😊
I love your gorgeous paintings and clear explanations! It is funny how often you say “sort of”. Seems very British😂

Very nice and imaginative, Karen
Thank you so much 😊
Thank you for another inspiring tutorial. You’re so positive, encouraging and generous with your tips on techniques. They’re all very useful, to me the most important will probably be the “don’t become a slave of the photograph” one. I wish you a happy Christmas and festive season. Francesca
Thank you Frances! Happy Christmas to you too!
Greetings Karen! Love the painting tips
Do you ever take an unplanned break from painting? I mean, just don't have the urge?
Thank you! Great question and yes I do have breaks from painting all the time 😀
❤
How are these simple casual moves end up so big at the end!? I keep being struck.
Nope.
It was still stressful.
I tried it. 😂
My trees ended up fully covered in snow, btw 😂
I wish I could losen up in my head in general.
Oh no! Keep practicing, it can help to loosen you up 😊
Lovely could you spell the first thin brush you used cheers
