Karen - I loved doing this. And a tip for others (if they don't already know), after I watch it through once, I then play it again at 1/2 speed. Thank you for your tutorials.
This was a great tutorial. Using just the one colour allowed me to focus on techniques. Loved it! I am now confident to paint my own landscapes. Thanks Karen. 😁
This is a great way to see ones skills and try to improve on any trouble spots - thank you! Also, it seems to take relatively little time, which is great when one doesn't have a lot of time to paint.
This is my favorite exercise. It’s really boosted my confidence. I’m going to continue this practice for a bit, with different colors and variations of the scene. Thank you!
So beautiful, you make every painting so exciting .Love seeing how each painting slowly comes to life.Haven’t started my watercolour adventure yet just trying to absorb as much as l can before l start.

You are such a great teacher! After being paralyzed with fear of failure for a while, I actually picked up the paintbrush yesterday to do one of your tutorials. This is one that I'm going to do today. Thank you so much! 🎨
Hi Karen I absolutely love your idea of one colour. It really is a great way to learn about tones and shadows. I’m going to give this a go with a picture I took of some trees after getting annoyed that I couldn’t get the colours right. Thank you for your brilliant informative posts 😊
It may be to do with the camera angle? Hold the brush where you feel comfortable. Try to avoid holding it near the top. So you can see what you are painting. Hope this was helpful 😊
Yes I do, thank you for asking, here is a link to another one colour tutorial which I hope you will find helpful: th-cam.com/video/996r7KKyVhc/w-d-xo.html

Hi Karin, I see that you often hold the brush quite high, is that better or does it not really matter.
It may be to do with the camera angle? Hold the brush where you feel comfortable. Try to avoid holding it near the top. So you can see what you are painting. Hope this was helpful 😊
@@KarenRiceArt Thanks Karin!
