    I think the X and the P series also needs to be mentioned. I suppose the X series are the compact version of the T series with smaller screens (13”) and like the T series they’re also ‘built like a tank’ while maintaining compatibility with docking stations. The P series must be the large screen ones (idk for sure).. oh and there’s the W series, I think W is for “Workstation” and they have dedicated graphics card, large screens and full keyboard set with numerical keypad, the ones to run CAD and Engineering software, also having support for docking stations and able to run on multiple monitors as well.

    • @tech29X
      @tech29X ปีที่แล้ว

      P series is supposed to be for Performance, intended to fill the gap between T and W series. It has a better thermal management system and is a popular choice among software developers or engineers viewing native CAD drawings. For content generation be it video or creating CAD drawings W series is suited to do the heavy lifting. E series is plenty good for bean counters and bean soup.

      My advice which is just recycled advice from friends is this: 16 is a minimum. If you want to play video games then that's a different question, you then probably need more. Look for a good CPU because that too is important, not just the ram, but it seems all three of these series have nice CPUs. I'm sorry I can't help more. T series seem to be more modifyable, i.e. easier to add another RAM stick or other things. But I'm not an expert.

      @@essennagerry Hi, thanks for your reply. 16 GB RAM seems minimum. It's not for gaming, just business, to do work on - spreadsheets, word, email, internet, etc. I need multiple tabs open and programs. Would 16Gb Ram be enough?
      What would be a good CPU - i7, 11th Gen? How many cores, threads? ? How much Ghz processing speed?

      @SkycompSolutionsInc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are on the right track here - Those little details matter (cores, threads, processing speed etc) but if you go for something with an i7 11th gen, 16 GB ram, you'll have no trouble running what you want. :) Reach out at Skycomp.ca if you need more guidance! Best, The Skycomp Team

    E series ThinkPads can also be configured with backlit keyboard. I have had one.
    Also, among the L and E series laptops I have used, I found that L series has better keyboard with more key travel.
    Could you please confirm if that difference in keyboards is among all L and E series laptops or was it just between the specific models that I used? Thanks.

      We believe it was just between the specific models you used - but check Lenovo's website to confirm!
