The way I describe Janis to people who never heard of her is. There is nothing pretty about her. Her voice is all over the place, not traditional. She is not flashy. She is not a pop star or anything like that. But when you listen to her you will feel pain, you will feel exposed, you will relive any trauma you might of faced. You will be amazed how one person can transmit so much pain and raw emotion into you heart. You will listen and think why I am I so addicted to her songs when I feel so much pain while listening..... But just like any addiction, the addiction is powerful. Its not easy to escape an addiction. Janis is by far one of my favorite singers. I can't say I enjoy her music when I listen to it. Because as an empath and someone who has experienced a ton of child hood trauma it make me feel hurt knowing how addicted she was to alchol. But when I want to feel alive and listen to someone else to relate to the pain I carry, I listen to Janis, Amy or Kurt.
It makes perfect sense to people who can relate lol ironically that's what music is 😂 you'd understand it in your own way as you relate in your own way. By judging anyone is just ignorance towards music lovers. 😅
I agree with you. I think what you said was perfect, it made perfect sense & it made me feel good (and totally understood) while reading it too - just like I do when I listen to this song. Gosh, she was taken far too soon. How old was she here?? So much felt emotion - so much DEEP emotion, for somebody so young. Just amazing, imo 💔 Edit: I know somebody that died young (30 yrs of age) due to addiction to alcohol - and several other substances too, so I totally understand where you're coming from. Please take good care of yourself - and to anybody reading this that can relate also, PLEASE get help if you're in this situation. You're playing Russian Roulette with your life if you don't, and I can tell you...it's the most painful thing a human will ever go through when the person they love dies, and you can't bring them back 😪

@@Whateverhappened_to_Fay_Wray hahaha that’s what I thought you were referring to. I thought there was some hidden Janis album that I hadn’t heard of by the same name. In the meantime, I’ve checked out the Beth Hart album and it’s great so far!
But when I want to feel alive and listen to someone else to relate to the pain I carry, I listen to Janis, Amy or Kurt.
do everyone a favor STOP TRYING TO DESCRIBE her to others...cause you make no sense
Yes!
It makes perfect sense to people who can relate lol ironically that's what music is 😂 you'd understand it in your own way as you relate in your own way. By judging anyone is just ignorance towards music lovers. 😅
I agree to some extent. Her voice is not "all over the place". Is technical. With a personal trait. Uniqueness.
Just amazing, imo 💔
Edit: I know somebody that died young (30 yrs of age) due to addiction to alcohol - and several other substances too, so I totally understand where you're coming from. Please take good care of yourself - and to anybody reading this that can relate also, PLEASE get help if you're in this situation. You're playing Russian Roulette with your life if you don't, and I can tell you...it's the most painful thing a human will ever go through when the person they love dies, and you can't bring them back 😪
Quelle beauté et quelle émotion. Cette chanson parle des femmes seules qui méritent un peu plus d'amour et d'attention. Merci Janis. 🌹
Saw Janice at Hollywood bowl in 1969 ….. With Santana and The Youngbloods …. Fantastic and Rebellious …. when Bowl peps turned on Lights, Janice kept jamming !!!!!!
Deve existir um paraíso, tem que ter... Para que todos possam ver uma dádiva dessas cantando ao vivo assim, isso não tem explicação.. definitivamente
favorite live performance, rest in peace queen 💌
ella solo se dedica a gritar

@@GabbyAldebaran It’s so much more than screaming. It is raw and powerful female vocals that no woman can match in their lifetime.

We are so very lucky too have footage of her to know that she existed on this earth once upon a time long ago!!
I started listening to Janice when I was 19. I went to a local record store and picked up the cassette. That was 1990. I played that tape for a long time. Enlighten! Forever a fan.
Bez sumnje jedna od najvećih svjetskih ličnosti u istoriji čovječanstva, legenda nad legendama❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Goosebumps man. I’m 27 in 2023, Janis you made history babe
I always thought of Amy Winehouse as a Janis Joplin type artist....unbelievable talent, passion and troubled souls
I liked Amy but not a candle could she hold to Janis,
@@pauldoyle1864 not a competition. Just both the free spirited, troubled, renegade anti establishment types. But I'm sure you like award shows and prefer either the Beatles or stones better or vice versa but that bores me too.
@Timothy Slaughter pretty rude aren't you
@@pauldoyle1864 I don't like music being a competition. Its art. But it did come across as rude so I apologize.
Ah no worries, Thank you for your message, I hope you have a great weekend
I love the performance where mama Cass is watching and goes 'oh my god', and Janis is having a perfect performance. It's amazing
Yes, Monterey Pop festival.
Ball and chain. Unforgettable
Monterey Pop. She also says "wow thats heavy".
Meu Deus, eu me arrepio todinha de ouvir essa mulher cantar... Que coisa extraordinária!!
It's so unfortunate that no other woman who sings blues,,, comes even close ,,,to how soulful Janis Joplin did it. Wow!! 🥲
I would love to be able to scream out the blues like Janis Joplin...Teddy Swims is really good too but these singers from the 60's are the pioneer's of the soulful gutsy sound.....!!
Einmal die 60iger hin und zurück mit deiner unvergleichlichen unverfälschten Stimme. Danke für die Minuten in einer realen Welt 💚
Wow I love her voice. She has blues and soul. And she's adorable.
Janis's blues gets me every time 💙
Она божественна, слушаю и слушала её и кайфую.. Это праздник души какойто. Света, 44 года, сибирь, красноярск
Wow I’m 59 years old and this woman knows how to sing, unbelievable talent
Intense! She feels every line.
Amazing! Love Janis ❤❤❤
Hello, how long have you been a fan of Janis??
My mom used to play her song all the time, did you attend any of her live shows performances?
Am from Nashville Tennessee... So what song from Janis do you love the most?? And where are you from if I may ask??
Hello Natalie can I ask you a question??
She knows how to pull them feelings out she's got me crying right now❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I use to follow Janis around Bay Area where she liked to perform. Janis was always my fav show as she put everything into her show,,..RIP but not forgotten.
Bom de mais. Eu a vi no Estoril em Portugal. Sei lá, acho que foi a Gal Costa. Linda, serelepe, charmosa. Encantadora. Se não me engano, todos tiveram anistia.. Janis Joplin, vc é inesquecpivel. Mulher Mulher. Guerreira.
Janis Joplin the very best at singing the blues. Gone too soon 🌺💜💜
Janis e a maior voz feminina da história da música.
