I liked Sam's approach to design from the canal longboat solution for the stove stack to the gravity defying solution for the mugs and plates. A wonderful craftsman. A fun video.
Lovely bus and very old school as well as so many of these conversions are always the same, everything painted white and to stark looking. I particularly like the air vent that you have on the front of your bus. Best wishes Sam and enjoy your travels.
This is the first bus I've really felt like I needed 🤣 and the magnets for the dishes on the ceiling is genius and something I don't think I've seen on any other tiny build. Love the woodstove and how it doesn't actually remove the window! So smart! The only thing I would change if this was mine is I would brighten it up with paint but I also love the wooden doors and things how they are!
I wasn't impressed with this bus at first sight: not pretty. But Sam really won me over with his explanation of how well it all worked together. Not flashy technology, but very well-considered, simple and sturdy.
I have to disagree-there is never a place you probably shouldn’t go in a school bus!! I love the way you found things to meet your needs. Recycle, reuse, repurpose!! Looks great. For some reason I expected to hear the song “Piano Man” as the opener! Love the Juniper tree you made!! Many great travels!!
I remember seeing wire artwork back in 2016 when I went for a holiday to NYC and just like Sam, the guy I seen doing it was very talented with he's creations. I purchased one for US$50... I love stuff like that.
Love your bus build you made some really clever storage option's...but I've just gotta say your artwork is stunning Jenna is very lucky to own a piece of your work...thankyou for sharing happy and safe travels from me in Melbourne, Australia 🙂👋
You are correct, we had no a/c on our school buses in the 70’s how did we survive 🙃 Very cool space, making it personal is what makes this life a great experience for so many. Having a bathroom is something my mind goes to immediately when seeing these builds, not something I would choose to go without, that’s however just me 🤷🏻♀️
WOW!!! You are truly one interesting and artistic fellow!!! What a grand lifestyle you have created for yourself ~ creative is an operative word for you ~ your philosophy of life is beautiful ~ I send you Light, Love, Peace, Joy and Abundance always, as you experience one adventure after another! I love you.
Awesome video, his home reveals the peaceful life he has. Wonderful home ! Thanks for sharing this video.Always a delight when I get my notification that you have a new video:)
This was such a great tour. I love this bus! It was also very enjoyable getting to know the owner. He has really inspired me with his creativity. Thank you very much!
I think that mini school bus is also great as a Crusin' USA diesel powerhouse street racer. Do not forget the diesel racing engine upgrades and twin turbos for this idea.
Favorite bus build. Love the hummingbird analogy. Would have liked more info on the tip out window in the kitchen. And what is behind the spice cabinet in the dead space. Like starting from the back and moving forward.
Thanks! The kitchen window is the emergency exit :D I put that window above the sink intentionally. Makes for nice air flow. Behind the spice rack is open space that I store my inflatable kayak in at the moment
Jenna this was really cool. I love his energy! He did a lot of thought when he was putting this together. I liked it. Apart from no shower in it. It was really cool. I loved his philosophy of life too. Just a genuinely cool person. Thank you for this one. Sending good vibes from California💜🤟🏻😎
Hola. Pienso que cada persona tiene el derecho de vivir como se sienta más cómodo. Lo felicito por su trabajo y su grandes ideas. Y le deseo que disfruten su jornada.
I truly love Sam and so much of what he had to say. One small, surprising example that you almost never hear mentioned these days - maps, yes! Oh, he had lots more to say that I found interesting, too, for sure. Love his bus, and oh, that beautiful woodwork that he'd done! Also, that's a truly beautiful juniper tree he made for you, Jenna. He is a true artist, in many ways. Great video - loved it!
I actually really like your build!!! Kudos to you man. Only thing for me i didnt see is your fridge and your shower. For me personally didnt see what you use for internet services. LOVE YOUR WOODWORK!!!!!! I will definitely check out your website and get one of your trees... awesome!!! god bless thanks for your video and your build and keep travelling!!!!
Thanks! I would love for you to have some of my artwork. For me I keep bnslife simple and have always been able to find a shower and Internet when I want it. IT's not a necessity to have one especially when most busses have a shower in the kitchen haha small spaces don't tend well to showers. I have yeti cooler for my cold stuff and that's good enough.
Few owners bother to pop the hood to show us the engine - his looked well gone over, crucial when your home travels by its engine. The apparent lack of any bathing facility, even any discussion of an outdoor shower, is a real negative for me. One couple had a shower in the middle of their ambulance build - it took a bit to set it up, but they could take a shower.
There are trade offs to having a shower inside. I do have a solar shower I set up when needed, but for the most part no I don't shower every day like most people haha I'm fine with that
Really love the woodworking that he has done..love that antler pull.. I believe in reading a map as well. No electric? Did I miss that? Sorry..but I would have to have some shower set up. Seems like a very creative and humble man..roll on!!
Hello Griff! Thanks for watching so closely. I do have two deep cycle batteries under the hood and a 4500 watt inverter for power inside. I also use a solar shower when I need to clean up. I also frequent hot springs as well as the occasional river or lake :)
How can you get on touch with Sam to help support his art work, as in to purchase..absolutely love his humble life.. he used every inch of his bus well.. he showed how he stays warm in the winter, but not cool in the summer, or if he has any kind of lighting
Sam's bus is beautiful, but I often wonder where I'd park one. I live on Vancouver Island and our boondocking is typically on logging roads with pull outs and winding tracks. Much as I'd love one, I don't think it would fit 😢. Very cool home and that hood vent and magnets on the ceiling are very nifty!! 🥰 💖🚙🇨🇦
Thanks! It is certainly easier to boondock over here out west with all the public land. But having a small bus it is so much easier to park. I couldn't imagine a big one!
A very nice and clever set up and interesting charachter he is but the bus itself... Oh, that bus! What a beautiful machine! Just a question: why nobody converts original roof lights in front/rear foglamps or something?
My friend is going to do that. In most states in the USA they cannot be red or yellow even if they arent on, so they must be changed to a regular light or capped over
Really Enjoyed this Video Love the design it's Home for sure Amazing Artist. Sam do you sell to Canada do you have a home page for your Art would love to purchase.
My question what do you do when your bus breaks down? Do you do all engine repairs or do you have someone else do the repairs and if you have someone else, who do you get? I'd love to get a bus like that however my only issue would he engine break downs.
I do all my own repairs, it would be very difficult to find a shop that would do it and do it right on these older ones. I have been working on engines and rebuilding stuff since I was a kid though, so it's easy for me. Most people ask me for help fix their stuff haha! Don't fear the unknown, my friend's 2012 bus just had its engine fail and so you just never know
@@serendipitybuslife wish I knew how to work on those busses, I would get one. That is the only thing stopping me. I woukd have no idea where to take it. Thanks the reply! 🙂
@@StarrlaRo TH-cam University! anything can be learned Haha I had to pick it up along the way as well. A big part of the journey is the break downs. I've met some of the best friends during what seemed like the worst times,
Does this sort of remind you of Into the Wild? Besides the ending of course.
Haha I resonate with that for sure! Embrace the adventure and don't fear the unknown
Great bus and sooo well put together. Also enjoyed the owners personality. He seems so clever, creative and mellow.
Layed back and free spirit 😊
Thanks! The bus is my sanctuary in so many ways
You nailed it, he is that! That's my brother! :) glad his personality comes through so well in the video
Gifted artist.....gentle soul....
Wow, love his artwork. That ring! So creative. One guy had a deck and fire pit on roof. He would like that ! So cozy!
Love the sculpture. Talented.
Wow..Sam is amazingly awesome!! He is truly living his best life !! I wish him many blessings!
Thanks!
I liked Sam's approach to design from the canal longboat solution for the stove stack to the gravity defying solution for the mugs and plates. A wonderful craftsman. A fun video.
What a warm, comfy and cozy bus! Great job! ❤️ Love it!!
Love the hummingbird bird reference
love the idea of upsizing to a tiny home
Lovely bus and very old school as well as so many of these conversions are always the same, everything painted white and to stark looking. I particularly like the air vent that you have on the front of your bus. Best wishes Sam and enjoy your travels.

love his creativity. the magnet roof idea is great
What a pleasant outlook this fella has. This would be perfect for me with a 4x4 modification.
Thats the plan!
I wasn't impressed with this bus at first sight: not pretty. But Sam really won me over with his explanation of how well it all worked together. Not flashy technology, but very well-considered, simple and sturdy.
I couldn't agree more. I really like Sam's attitude about it all.
Haha thanks! Yeah I try to keep in basic on the outside while the inside is epic!

This guy's cool . . . he has adopted to that principle -.'one man's trash is another man's treasure' ! 😎 🇺🇸

About 6'2''
Too many windows equals too hot or too cold.
