  • This episode was my favorite so far! I think I should call my videos late reactions if we're being honest. (Because I take so long to post, AND I take so long to react when I'm watching...) Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this video and this episode, and I will see you for the next one. Sorry the episode feed got choppy at the end. You guys are the best!

Keep in mind that Andor's father (and Andor himself when he was a small kid) were separatists during the clone wars. That comment you made about us seeing a viewpoint where the Republic is seen as the "bad guy" is really on point, because that's exactly how separatists saw it. In fact, those kids on Kenari (Andor's planet as a child in this show) are orphans left to fend for themselves after the Republic strip-mined their planet for resources and their parents died in "mining accidents" (those ruins were actually a giant strip mine that the Republic abandoned). What's interesting about this show is that from the perspective of separatists, it's not like the Republic was good and then Palpatine took over and created a bad Empire - for them, the Republic was corrupt and treated their systems horribly, and the Empire was just a natural extension of that. It's almost like they would say, "see, we told you this Empire thing would happen".
Anyway, yeah, that stretch of first few episodes is a little bit of a slog, but it definitely picks up :) If you see the episodes back to back, the slow pacing makes a lot more sense, but for people watching them spaced apart, yeah, I can see why it would seem incredibly slow. Just keep in mind that even little details have a profound impact on the story, and they are sketching out a lot of character and event backstory.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! I totally agree with everything you said. That’s why one of my favorite episodes of the Clone Wars is when Ahsoka and Padme visit Lux and Mina Bontari (hope I spelled it right) and Ahsoka learns that politics and war aren’t always as black and white as they seem. Also why I’m so excited to see more of Dooku’s turn to the darkside fleshed out in Tales of the Jedi!

Overall I’m really enjoying the show! It’s definitely different compared to other SW series but I like how it’s different and I like the slow paced feel. Considering we have 12 episodes and a second season, the slow paced is very interesting and allows us to get a glimpse of each character. The dialogue and the acting is on point as well as the music and the visuals compared to Book of Boba and Kenobi. It seems these writers and producers are taking this series serious compared to other Star Wars projects. After watching Episode 5, I give the series so far an 8/10.

I’m so glad youre enjoying the show! I agree that it feels way less rushed and I don’t mind the change of pace, it’s just hard for me to get super into it, but I don’t like judging a series before it’s completed, so I’m expecting it to reel me back in soon! Thanks for watching! My reaction to episodes 4 and 5 will be up soon :)

@@laneybyers Yes I understand exactly what you mean. That’s why I went into this series with zero expectations and zero fan service. I don’t care for Cassian’s character at all so I’m hoping these seasons will change that.

Same! I’m glad the super big Rogue One fans are getting this series, and hopefully Cassian will become one of my favorites!

Love the pacing, character development ,music is on point , practical on location sets.
None of the characters we've met are throwaways. The dialogue is so clever.
Fvck am I glad I haven't heard"May the Force be with you" or seen a light sabre.
This is about the people in the day to day harsh life under the empire not about Luke or Han Solo.

The on location sets are visually stunning. I haven’t had a problem with any characters except maybe Timm😂 I’m glad you’re enjoying the show, I know it’ll only get better from here!

Thank you so much! Unfortunately that’s how I’m feeling too, that’s why my reactions to these episodes are so short. There’s nothing that really makes me react! It’s hard when you’re coming off of a show like Kenobi, but Im sure the series will pick up the pace soon!
