Details I've noticed: 1. Extremely natural blinking animations (i.e. as the eye blinks all the facial muscles around the eye also moves). 2. Remilia and Mystia's wings: the spines and the web/feathers are separately rendered and have individual movements (0:18)/(1:25) 3. Spatial distortion around Yukari's gap as it appears and vanishes (0:28) 4. Yuyuko seems to pull out a dango (?) to her mouth while Youmu is covering her (1:28) 5. Marisa's hat hop (1:56) resulting from the transfer of inertia from her broom to her body. The physics is done extremely well in general. Not to mention the beautiful spellcard animations meticulously referencing the actual IN game. There are probably much more that I've missed but this is in no doubt a piece de resistance.

I was watching this video while waiting for my microwave to finish steaming some vegetables. After it ended, I went to check on them; with comedically perfect timing, it finished up just as I arrived in front of it. Now, this microwave enters a cooling mode after the timer finishes; it did so now, meaning that when I went down there the display simply read "COOL". I agree with the microwave's assessment; I believe it would have said more, but its vocabulary, display, and capacity for artistic critique are sadly limited.
Of course Yuyuko and Youmu are fighting Mystia, everything else would be wasted potential. Jokes aside, those few minutes are absolutely breathtaking. I love how this guy always has to outdo himself every single time.
Honestly I was hoping s/he animate Undertale for ominous intent... More Touhou vs Undertale for another fandom warfare just like Minecraft vs Fornite Would be shocking if s/he plays Terraria, Roblox and Minecraft.

0:26 When the gap folds here, it actually looks like its warping the surroinding area, as if it were a rift in space and time suddenly warping out of existence.
This one is going to be insane. This is definitely the biggest one you’re doing. So many characters to animate with all those projectiles, clothing, hair, eyes, facial expressions, etc. you’re out doing yourself. I applaud.
The greatest? No. *More.* To make this _particularly famous stage_ until now, means he was waiting until he was able _to make his masterpiece_ . If this get the success it deserves... this could make noise. A LOT of noise.
I kinda doubt it would be complete before the end of 2020. Brambly Boundaries took almost exactly two years after Subterranean Stars, which also took roughly two years after Humans vs. Yukari. Eternal Night is probably coming some time in the first half of 2021.
God, I love this detail at 0:40 The way Yukari floats after Reimu starts flying, then follows after she's passed is so cool to me. I have no idea why, but I just can't stop watching that part.

My favorite thing about these models is that they truly look like a perfect 3D recreation of Minus T's digital paintings/artstyle. Finally it's his Touhou drawings come perfectly to life!

Can I just say how plain it is to see just how much you've improved between animations, and how much of a joy it is to see such improvements. Slick, smooth, and honestly it's brilliant to see characters actually interacting with oncoming attacks and their own skills, like Sakuya jumping from knife to knife or Youmu cleaving bullets in half. The little details are amazing as well, like how Mystia's ears move to reflect her expressions, or just how brilliantly the facial animation and body language perfectly sums up each character's personality without a word of spoken dialogue. Can't wait to see the rest. Also that little hop Marisa's hat does when she rises to meet Reimu is just perfect
The way actual fight choreography is mixed with the danmaku mechanic is really well done. It could’ve been basic projectile dodging and a zoning fight, but it’s way more dynamic than it could’ve been, especially w Sakuya. I bet there’s gonna be some cool stuff with Eirin’s archery too. Can’t wait to see more!
@@joannamysluk8623 Tbf, they have always been switching between Final and Extra bosses. In fact, Reimu has done more bosses solo (Remilia, Yuyuko and Koishi) than Marisa (Flandre and Utsuho) because Yukari was a 3v1.

I really love how much personality you can see from the characters in this animation, and also some really interesting attention to details, like making the half-ghost of Youmu be kinda translucid and the portals of Yukari distorting the space as they close, so many great moments in such a small amount of time! 10/10
i remember seeing the marisa vs flandre one years ago and being so impressed anyone could manage to recreate bullet hell in 3d. now just seeing this... i’m oddly proud and even more amazed than i was before

I must say, every time I look at your work it just completely blows me away how you can translate between the Border of 2D and 3D. I keep coming back to these simply because the quality of these animations are extremely good, much better than modern movies, sometimes. Please continue to continue with the great work, my guy.
This must also be a really cool retrospect having Remilia, Yuyuko, and Yukari as part of the main cast with their updated models seeing as those three were some of your previous Touhou 3D works (being able to see how you've grown and the model/movement comparisons and what not)

The Vampire and her faithful maid, departing from the mansion of Scarlet to punish whoever so brazenly dared to disturb the mistress’ leisurely night of moon watching. The Shrine Maiden of Paradise and the mysterious Yōkai of Borders, bringing the night to a crawl so that they may resolve the incident as quickly as possible. The Ghost Princess, leaving the realm of the dead on a whim to fix the moon, her loyal gardener being pulled along for the ride to fulfill her duty as the princess’ bodyguard. The Seven-Colors Puppeteer and Black-White Ordinary Magician, venturing forth from their forest abodes to return the moon to its rightful place, and maybe do a spot of “borrowing until death” in the case of the latter.
Nathan Humphrey what a beautifully written synopsis my friend! Definitely helps to read this after taking breaks from Touhou now and then, I almost forgot about Yukari given I know her for looking older than that.

Provided this animation will go up to that point? I mean, it's possible minusT will just take things up to the Reimu vs Marisa fight (with some Youmu and Sakuya thrown in for a good free-for-all) and ends it when the teams decide to focus on going to Eientei... I hope it won't; I'd love to see Reisen, Eirin and Kaguya (and also Mokou, but I'm kinda expecting that to be a later animation) but something tells me that the main attraction of this animation is going to be the Reimu vs Marisa fight...
I believe that the Reimu vs Marisa battle will be a quick match like in Brambly Boundries. Reimu battling Sanae, once defeating her, she quickly moves on to fight Koishi. Whichever one wins moves along to Eientei. I also think that Mokou will have her own separate animation video since all extra bosses seem to be a seperate video.
Honestly, the framing of that last shot gave me chills, and that's only stage 4. PCB was my favorite 3D so far, but I can already tell that this one will surpass that!
Oh my god. Reisen's ability to pause and reposition her bullet-shaped bullets looked fantastic in 2d, but spread to a 3d world like this it'll be maddening!
Finally, someone who realised that Sakuya wears high-heels, not normal shoes like you see in other animations It shows that this animation was verry well thought
The high heels Sakuya wears seem to make her look more like an adult. However, because she moves like a child, running and jumping while wearing them, there is a gap between high heels and high heels, which are a symbol of adult women.
The strong contrasts and lighting effects really make this video stand out compared to the older ones. While the earlier videos had cool effects as well, e.g., specular reflections in Subterranean Stars and Philosophy of the Despised in Brambly Boundaries, they didn't have the contrast to really bring out the cool factor. Light particles flying in a dark forest just looks really good. Speaking of which, the foliage looks a lot more detailed and lush too.

The thing that really impresses me in the sheer number of characters going at it at once. The most we had seen up to this point was the 3- Marisa, Reimu, and Sakuya, from the fight against Yukari. Then it was Marisa with Alice, Nitori, and Patchy running support. Then, finally, Reimu with Yukari, Suiko, and Aya as supports. Now... all 8 characters from IN are gonna be actively involved in the fights. That...is beyond impressive. So hyped for this!

My favorite thing about these models is that they truly look like a perfect 3D recreation of Minus T's digital paintings/artstyle. Finally it's his Touhou drawings come perfectly to life!

Can I just say how plain it is to see just how much you've improved between animations, and how much of a joy it is to see such improvements. Slick, smooth, and honestly it's brilliant to see characters actually interacting with oncoming attacks and their own skills, like Sakuya jumping from knife to knife or Youmu cleaving bullets in half. The little details are amazing as well, like how Mystia's ears move to reflect her expressions, or just how brilliantly the facial animation and body language perfectly sums up each character's personality without a word of spoken dialogue. Can't wait to see the rest.
Also that little hop Marisa's hat does when she rises to meet Reimu is just perfect
The way actual fight choreography is mixed with the danmaku mechanic is really well done. It could’ve been basic projectile dodging and a zoning fight, but it’s way more dynamic than it could’ve been, especially w Sakuya. I bet there’s gonna be some cool stuff with Eirin’s archery too.
Can’t wait to see more!

In fact, Reimu has done more bosses solo (Remilia, Yuyuko and Koishi) than Marisa (Flandre and Utsuho) because Yukari was a 3v1.

I really love how much personality you can see from the characters in this animation, and also some really interesting attention to details, like making the half-ghost of Youmu be kinda translucid and the portals of Yukari distorting the space as they close, so many great moments in such a small amount of time! 10/10

いやこのノーマルマップはrayによる物、キャラや背景も既存、弾幕エフェクトなんかはビームマンｐが作ったわけで、実質この質感自体を本人が作ったわけではないから、それなりに使い慣れたMMDerなら数日で出来ますよ。
ただ賞賛すべきは弾幕の原作具現化やキャラ同士のドラマが素晴らしいと思います。

これ実はMMDではなくblenderで作られたもので、キャラからステージやモーションまでminusTさんがすべて0から作成されているんです🤔
前回までは別のモデルを使用されていましたが今回モデルを全て作り直されたらしいので本当に年単位でこの動画を作られていたと思います、すごいですよね
人物のエフェクトはもちろん、物凄い数の弾幕、魔理沙の家のとっちらかった小物の数々…途方もない時間をかけて作ったものなんだろうな

I wonder how will MinusT animate Reisen's Spell cards.
Provided this animation will go up to that point? I mean, it's possible minusT will just take things up to the Reimu vs Marisa fight (with some Youmu and Sakuya thrown in for a good free-for-all) and ends it when the teams decide to focus on going to Eientei... I hope it won't; I'd love to see Reisen, Eirin and Kaguya (and also Mokou, but I'm kinda expecting that to be a later animation) but something tells me that the main attraction of this animation is going to be the Reimu vs Marisa fight...
I believe that the Reimu vs Marisa battle will be a quick match like in Brambly Boundries. Reimu battling Sanae, once defeating her, she quickly moves on to fight Koishi. Whichever one wins moves along to Eientei. I also think that Mokou will have her own separate animation video since all extra bosses seem to be a seperate video.

Honestly, the framing of that last shot gave me chills, and that's only stage 4. PCB was my favorite 3D so far, but I can already tell that this one will surpass that!

Oh my god. Reisen's ability to pause and reposition her bullet-shaped bullets looked fantastic in 2d, but spread to a 3d world like this it'll be maddening!
Finally, someone who realised that Sakuya wears high-heels, not normal shoes like you see in other animations

I think she wears Mary-Jane shoes with a bit of a tall tip near the end, forgot what it was called but still.
The high heels Sakuya wears seem to make her look more like an adult. However, because she moves like a child, running and jumping while wearing them, there is a gap between high heels and high heels, which are a symbol of adult women.
Meanwhile, Alice just chills on the sidelines with Yukari, watching Marisa vs Reimu go at it 1-on-1.
Don't forget survival spellcards... Marisa will be dodging them next (I wonder if they'll be animated. MinusT already made the spellcard design...)
Until Reimu and/or Marisa calls them up for back-up spellcards to use.
The strong contrasts and lighting effects really make this video stand out compared to the older ones. While the earlier videos had cool effects as well, e.g., specular reflections in Subterranean Stars and Philosophy of the Despised in Brambly Boundaries, they didn't have the contrast to really bring out the cool factor. Light particles flying in a dark forest just looks really good. Speaking of which, the foliage looks a lot more detailed and lush too.

The thing that really impresses me in the sheer number of characters going at it at once. The most we had seen up to this point was the 3- Marisa, Reimu, and Sakuya, from the fight against Yukari. Then it was Marisa with Alice, Nitori, and Patchy running support. Then, finally, Reimu with Yukari, Suiko, and Aya as supports. Now... all 8 characters from IN are gonna be actively involved in the fights. That...is beyond impressive. So hyped for this!
There was that small part in Yukari vs the Humans when she summoned Chen and Ran to fight with her, so we got a brief 6 person fight scene before.
