I like the new aspect ratio & similar design to S23 series, also SD card support, stereo speakers with ip rating & decent chip upgrade & not too bad performance from A54, its a Solid device
The notch can be disabled in settings for nearly all the apps, if desired, and there is stabilization for 4K video. There's also Dolby Atmos and stereo speakers which are much better than the Google pixel 6 I had. A USB C to 3.5mm jack adapter can easily be purchased for £2.99 off Amazon.
Comparing it to my s20 fe 5g so far: Processor: A34 (About the same, could be even better) Display: S20 FE 5G (Non-notched display) Software: A34 (Up to android 17, 4 years OS support) Build: Both (Except the S20 FE 5G has a better IP68 resistance and the A34 having gorilla glass 5, they are technically the same in build) Features: S20 FE 5G (Dex mode, 30x zoom, ufs 3.1). But besides that they are still the same Speakers: Both (both have stereo sound with no 3.5 connection) Overrall the A34 seems like of sacrificing few features, but I would say its worth it considering its nice software support. Still would use my s20 fe 5g for features it has missings such dex mode. But overall the a34 wont have problem being my daily driver. So far have been saving for it and not regretting it so far

That notch isn't really a problem. Just choose a wallpaper that covers it etc. People are enjoying their iPhones that have that huge notch or island blocking a large section of the view and they don't complain.
Exactly, if you have an allergic reaction to a mere notch then spend 1/3 more and get the A54. Rather than boring us to to tears with moaning at this low price point for what you get...

Yeah should have been a punch hole camera. I can't believe how Samsung has been so inconsistent with the A series. The A11 had a corner punch hole camera but not the A31. Then after that the A1X series has been a notch camera ever since.

It doesn't heat at all while in usual usage and in gaming it heats very little (it never crossed 50 degrees Celsius in demanding games such as PUBG). The battery life is better than that of A54 and I think the cooling is also better. If these matter for you, go for A34, it's cheaper and superior at these aspects.

I've been eyeing this phone for awhile and I love the look, design, and bigger screen! Much better than my A71 5G ugly design lol and happy to see SD card support still and stereo speakers but sucks no headphone jack but it's whatever, I don't mind the notch that people are complaining about. I rather that than an ugly hole punch in the middle of the screen on my phone but thank God for Nacho Notch to clear that up. This phone of course wasn't released here in the USA but I'll just get it on Amazon because I refuse to get the A54, this phone is better.

The A34 is better to me for those reasons and I hate holes in the screen even though notches aren't any better. Depends on your priorities. If battery, screen , unmatched OS upgrades till android 17 then obviously a34 If camera , stock android experience till android 15 then pixel 6a however mind you there are almost no service centres, fingerprint sensor is finicky, battery life is below average

I myself had the same problem with these three phones. I finally decided to get the A34. Reason is stereo speakers, IP rating and mediateck 1080 chip. I normally keep my phone 3 years before upgrading. Currently I'm using Samsung M31 phone it's 3 years old now. Only problem with this phone now battery life and heating.

Here's my honest to god review after almost a month with the Galaxy A34 5G: 1) Design: I got the phone in the Awesome silver color, and I have to say it's gorgeous. The build is full plastic but it feels sturdy and the back does not attract fingerprints, the notch does look outdated but it's not a deal-breaker. 2) Performance: The Dimensity 1080 is plenty enough for day to day tasks like social media and TH-cam, it also handles games like smash legends well enough. 3) Camera: I have to say, coming from a Huawei P30, this felt like a slight downgrade, detail levels are way lower than the P30's and Night photography is slightly worse. Although I have to give it to the camera is much more reliable and consistent than my old Huawei, you always get the same image processing unlike the Huawei that sometimes applies a green tint to photos. 4) Battery life: I cannot believe gsmarena rated this phone at 133h in their tests, Battery life at 120hz with no power saving options is straight up bad! On an average day with limited 4g usage and a 30mins gaming session, the phone struggles to get above 6 hours of SOT. Not to mention the awful standby time, I go to bed at around 11pm with 50% battery life, I wake up at 9am and the phone has already gone down to 30%. That's my experience with the phone so far, I honestly regret my purchase, I'd recommend getting the Vivo V27 over it.
Isn't possible to put it into some kind of "bed time mode" during the night? This would help you with the battery drain a lot during the night. Check out if you have an option for that

General loudspeaker volume on my Samsung A34 is quite *low*, have to keep atleast close above 65-70% mark to hear decently.. YT, Music, etc. But I feel this is COULD BE a software glitch..normal voice calls on loudspeaker is way loud..Anyone with similar experience...?

The battery is straight brilliant (mine lasts for 15 hours without charging with continuous usage). I didn't really used the camera because I'm not a photo guy, but at a glance it seems pretty good.
Hi! Can you please try taking some photos with flash in low light/dark room with the A34? I have the A34 and I'm so annoyed by the fact that the flash seems out of sync with the shutter - the flash fires a few milliseconds before the shutter and almost all flash photos turn out dark (some even darker than without the flash!). I'm seriously considering returning this phone.
It's pretty huge, like the s22 ultra, so if you don't want a huge one, pass on it. And does anybody actually use the included USB C to USB C wire for charging? I don't know about you, but all my power blocks and ports I have lying around are USB A. Bummer

Been using A34 5G in a year. Still a great phone, no lags at all. Even the cameras, the only downside is the lowlight photos.

Man i was using a53 for more than 1 year i bought the a34 recently and is better than a53 in every aspect the notch is the only thing i didn't like about this phone
General loudspeaker volume on my Samsung A34 is quite *low*, have to keep atleast close above 65-70% mark to hear decently.. YT, Music, etc.
But I feel this is COULD BE a software glitch..normal voice calls on loudspeaker is way loud..Anyone with similar experience...?

@@outcast6103 It's not overheating at all, I have the phone and I absolutely love how cold it stays, even during gaming. Dimensity 1080 is a really quiet and handle heat very well. The battery is straight brilliant (mine lasts for 15 hours without charging with continuous usage). I didn't really used the camera because I'm not a photo guy, but at a glance it seems pretty good.

Hi! Can you please try taking some photos with flash in low light/dark room with the A34?
I have the A34 and I'm so annoyed by the fact that the flash seems out of sync with the shutter - the flash fires a few milliseconds before the shutter and almost all flash photos turn out dark (some even darker than without the flash!). I'm seriously considering returning this phone.

It's pretty huge, like the s22 ultra, so if you don't want a huge one, pass on it. And does anybody actually use the included USB C to USB C wire for charging? I don't know about you, but all my power blocks and ports I have lying around are USB A. Bummer

@@eurys18I'm sorry for just noticing this now. :((( the battery life is good, yeah. On a full charge, it lasts me around 12 hours. I have played with it, with a casual game, I could use it for 3 hours straight before running out of battery. Some reviewers I also have watched have said that go with a34 if u are after performance. A54 for photography. Not really a photogenic person so I just went this. :)) hope you're enjoying your new device.!!! :DD

Anyway, as an old person I just want Samsung doesn't matter what people said. It is brand that I grew up with. The durability, the quality is good. I am not the young people who really particular in function and features of a phone. I do not really care on display features like knit, amoled or hertz ( the hertz that I know is for radio😅). I just want it be functionable for basic photography, browsing social media and youtube will do.😊
