@@PyschoPike it was at a time where the character was alive against all odds.. looking for his loved ones in an apocalyptic, lonely, scary, barren place where an explosion happened.... much like the families were looking for their loved ones in the rubble and the apocalyptic feeling atmosphere of when the bombing occurred. .. the feelings were captured and we felt how he felt. It was on cue. Nothing wrong about capturing a gut wrenching feeling through beautiful song placement.

Love the way this choice ties into Vanderohe's statement about how he's haunted by the faces of the people who died during the zombie wars, the zombies he killed who were once people. Some people are mocking Zack over this choice implying he doesn't understand the song isn't actually about zombies but as usual, like with his thematic music choice for Aquaman in ZSJL people want to paint him as stupid or edgy. He puts a lot of thought into this stuff in actuality.

She wrote the song for 2 boys that were killed in a bombing in England by terrorists. They were 3 and 12. The terrorists planted 3 bombs randomly across the busiest streets and nobody believed them until the first bomb went off... then the people ran away for cover and sadly, they ran right into the second bomb.. the 2 boys died and 56 people were injured in total.. so very sad.

This is the first time I've seen a Zack Snyder movie receiving more backlash from audiences than from critics, and all cause some people, understandably, got triggered by the dumb, tongue-in-cheek plot. I didn't mind it that much. It is a zombie movie with clever mythology and dream-like cinematography. I had fun with it, even recognizing it ain't one of Snyder's best movies.
For it being a gory zombie movie it was a fun turn your brain off film. But the odd plot twist at the end was what made me meh over it for the first time from Snyder. But it’s all good, nothing is always perfect.
Watching it for the first time was a thing of pure magic... I haven't had a feeling so powerful in a movie for so so long, I thought it just wasn't impactful anymore. But this song and this scene, it was so beautiful and so moving. Zack is a true artist and it moved me in a way I never thought a movie could anymore. I wish I could go back to when I first saw this scene. So powerful. Thank you for bringing that feeling back to movies for me.
*Spoilers* The Coyote and Vanderhoe were the ones I was rooting for the most for some reason. Vanderhoe probably got it the worst because he (and we) thought he made it.
