    FAQs
    1. What’s the best stocks to invest for long term and pledge it ?
    Prefer Bluechip stocks like Reliance, TCS, ITC, HDFC etc. so that downside risk is limited. You can pledge these stocks so that haircut will be lesser compared to other stocks. Even you can invest in ETFs like Nifty bees, Junior Bees, Bank Bees, Goldbees etc and pledge them to get margin benefit
    2. Does broker consider FD as collateral?
    No, most of the brokers don’t consider your Fixed Deposit as collateral. Few brokers might allow, but they will ask you to open FD account in brokers name instead of your name. Which is not recommended.
    3. What are the best mutual funds to invest and pledge ?
    Go for debt funds from large institutions like SBI, Axis, Icici, HDFC and pledge these debt funds, so that hair cut will be only 10% and you get 90% of fund value as margin. And there is zero risk and you can make additional 6% returns every year.

      No, say suppose you pledge your holdings and get 3 lacs margin, now you start trading with it. In case you face a loss of ₹10,000 then you need to have this 10k as cash in your account so that broker can debit it, if you don’t have then they will charge interest for that 10k not for the 3 lacs margin you received

    Hi bro, I am an intraday trader with full cash. Considering the haircut is around 10%, won’t it be better if we go with full cash generating 30-40% annually. Because we will lose the potential earnings on the haircut margin. Considering we pledge with debt funds for 7-8% annually. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    • @SquareOff
      @SquareOff  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Say I have ten lacs capital , then I get 9 lacs as Margin to trade options, after 10% hair cut. And also I make around 60k additional returns through pledging. With this one lac am losing in hair cut, am making back more than half of it. But as you said, few traders utilise their full cash and take positions, for them it’s better to trade with cash, but certain traders prefer
      1. Less risk, so their money management is planned such a way that they don’t utilise full capital, so they tend to look for additional returns through pledging
      2. Safety of funds, broker default won’t affect us if we pledge and trade
      3. Can avoid sebi quarterly settlement as well
