Now so far it's been absolutely wonderful. We also had low expectations because of seeing other youtubers aswell making silly videos with silly titles. Reality is the infrastructure is actually very good, everybody is super respectful and educated, the nature is so beautiful, the food is one of our favourites. Wow I never thought that most people think about my country that way, actually Sri Lanka is different than Africa even Mainland South Asia, It's Island, Not only the city of Colombo, our infrastructure is well connected throughout the island.. that's why Colombo not very crowded city as other capital cities..I know country still have problems but you can live happily coz Sri Lanka is safe, tourist friendly and affordable 😊
last year there was political unrest in colombo..people ransacked presidential palace..president rajapaksa fled from d country, there was massive protest against d govt...now life is back on d tracks.

People burn coconut husks outside their homes to clear the trapped chemicals in the air .it refreshes your thoughts, lightens the mind, makes space for good things in your life and helps you focus and reclaim peace . Durian season is from May to August. You can manily find them in the South.Durian was brought to Sri Lanka by the Portuguese in the 16th century. .

There’s a few excellent food places in that area. You should try a place called sagara foods. It must be very close to where guys staying. It’s a takeaway spot. But amazing food. Btw great video guys. Looking forward to the next one.❤
Genuine kithul jaggery breaks easily and melts quickly. It has a distinct taste too, slightly sour. If the jaggery is hard, it’s very likely sugar cane or simply caramelized sugar.

You can find good Duriyan from central part of Sri Lanka. Mainly in Kithulgala. But the Duriyan season is now over. May be there are some in those areas.

Kitul one melts if kept outside. A piece of kitul jaggary the size of the one you bought costs around 800-1200 rupees if you bought it directly from a producer in the hill country of Sri Lanka. It will be more expensive in other places, like Colombo, etc. 100% Kithul Jaggary or 100% Kithul Tricle are expensive delicacies, and it is very hard to find 100% pure Kithul Tricle or Jaggary. btw, people mix a little bit of sugar with Kithul Jaggary to prevent metling if kept outside, those once only with little bit of sugar also very expensive. In most cases, you will find less than 30% kitul mix with coconut tricle or sugar. Otherwise, people can't afford it. Even a touch of real kitul will make things more expensive.
Wow you guys so close to my home in Kirulapana 😊. Nugegoda is the next closest town which has Market and its 5 minutes walk from Kirulapana market. Try out Mount Lavinia Beach and Dehiwala Zoo. Mr.Kottu Grand - Nugegoda try out for Kottu and there a lot of palace you can eat out explore. Visit some famous shopping malls like CCC - Colombo city center , Havelock city Mall, One Galle face for an experience and visit Galle face green and try out some street food at the evening 🎉
Please visit adam's peak if possible (not the little adams peak in Ella) ... But avoid weekends and poya holidays.. It will be crowded in those days.. Thank you ❤

Coconut shells are burnt and we put a powdered resin called kattakumanjal on the charred shells to fumigate the houses and premises. It cleanses the air and leaves a pleasant, earthy smell
That Little Bitter Gourd is called Thumba karawila in Sinhalaese, it is also called Spine Gourd (Momordica dioica ex Roxb.Willd) and is a demand vegetable, that grows mainly in flat lowlands in Sri Lanka. Although it is a vine and belongs to the bitter gourd family, it has no bitter taste and is a food that has medicinal value for diabetes and stomach ailments.
For the big city Colombo was actually a pleasant surprise we've had a decent little stay here.

The pure kithul jaggery is around 900 LKR or more , the old lady said that it was not pure and it was an ok quality Jaggery

Coconut shells are burnt and we put a powdered resin called kattakumanjal on the charred shells to fumigate the houses and premises. It cleanses the air and leaves a pleasant, earthy smell
