- Let’s be honest: We’re all waiting for the GTI and R versions of the new Golf, aren’t we? However, they won’t be around until late 2020 or early 2021.
Until then, we took the chance to have a look at the brand new Golf MK8 with the 1.5 TSI motorization to see if it’s a worthy successor to the Golf MK7.
We managed to increase the performance to 180 HP, which is an impressive improvement over stock and this also lays down in the acceleration times from 100 - 200 km/h.

I have the mk8 a week and she is fast, I've drove mk5 6 7 and 8, the others are sportier yes. But mine you feel like your floating on air, and she has good clutch control etc. I'm not complaining 😁 but I do miss the golfs

hey I had the 96kw engine with a full intake and charge pipe, RS chip shouid have made 167hp and 248nm, on the dyno it made 155hp and 235nm, to be fair stock my car made 132hp and 216nm, same dyno@@oeli4166
How much is the chip in £ and is it easy to fit ?
Did I understand correctly the chart: the stock engine power for the 96kW version is 150HP, and the wheel power 120HP which is lower than the VW rated 130HP? Also would this sort of chiptuning affect the turbine which is supposed to be working at a lower temperature compared to the 110kW version?

@RaceChip if i have Seat Ateca FR 1.5 150km but with poor dsg DQ200 where 250nm is probably max for this gear and ok stock I have that many :/ Still you should i try ? I dont need max km/nm , needs more flexible acceleration in individual gears.
Our products offer 5 (RaceChip S), 6 (RaceChip RS) or 7 (RaceChip GTS) different Mappings, each Mapping results in a different power output. You can change/select the Mappings any time and switch the car to stock performance (would highly suggest getting the +APP Version, so you can change it via Smartphone). So, if you don’t want to run tuning all the time, simply go for stock performance (de-activate the tuning), or you could run e.g. MAP 3 which delivers a nice power gain but a little bit less compared to the highest Mapping. You can go for the XLR as well, stand alone or in combination with the products mentioned above (works perfect in combination). The RaceChip XLR makes your car more responsive without changing the power output (pedal is more responsive). If you have any more questions, feel free to contact our support anytime

2019 Leon FR with 1.5 tsi and it is the 150hp variant. For me it is good but damn it lacks horsepower. Thinking about mapping it just to get it to 200 so it pulls even better since I am living where you have big inclines.

Do latest gen ACT (active cylinder technology) engines have equal potential for tuning? Here in india we are now getting ACT with all 1.5 TSI where 1.0 TSI doesn't.

I got the new vw golf MK 8 2.0 eco diesel, the car is a dead beat is it possible to remap to stage 1 and how much faster is it likely to go?

No it can only take 250nm. Sell it and buy a manual

hey does this work for the 1.4 engine? in Australia for some reason it has a slightly smaller capacity, same engine though I think.
Australia get's the 1.4TSI from the previous generation Golf and not the new 1.5 :(
@@jay-uo2biyep the 1.5 (chain driven) engine is fitted to a bunch of vw group cars in Aus but not the golf which in mk8 guise sticks with the old belt driven 1.4 paired with a torque converter auto

Hallo, Kurze Frage Bitte : Wieso ist Ihre Schleppmomentkurve immer höher mit tuning als ohne ? Danke, ich möchte noch lernen ;-) Ansonsten Hut ab für die Videos, habe immer Spass dabei. danke Gruß
Die Schleppleistung und dadurch die Schleppmomentkurve variiert in Abhängigkeit verschiedener Bedingungen z.B. wenn mehrere Leistungsmessungen direkt hintereinander abgefahren werden, erhöht sich die Temperatur im Antrieb/Reifen etc.-> Teile dehnen sich aus, dadurch erhöht sich wiederum die Schleppleistung bzw. die Verlustleistung. Aber auch Punkte wie z.B. die Verzerrung des Fahrzeuges auf dem Rollenprüfstand haben einen Einfluss auf die Schleppleistung. Daher ist es, für exakte Ergebnisse, wichtig die Schlepp/Verlustleistung nach jeder Leistungsmessung zu ermitteln, nur so kann eine korrekte Motorleistung ermittelt werden. Grundsätzlich ist die Rechnung: Radleistung + Schleppleistung = unkorrigierte Motorleistung.
(Warum die Schleppleistung in vielen Fällen höher ist als Tuning, liegt einfach an der Reihenfolge der durchgeführten Messungen, wir messen das Fahrzeug immer als aller erstes in Serie)
Durch die Messung der Verlustleistung nach jeder Leistungsmessung erhalten wir immer reproduzierbare Ergebnisse bezogen auf die Motorleistung.

Auto abspannen und wieder in "kalte" Betriebstemperaturszustand am nächsten Tag zu messen wäre zu viel (unnötiges) Aufwand, nur um ähnliches Schleppleistung zu bekommen. noch 2 kleine Frage Bitte: 1- Wieso ist die Schleppleistung nicht eingekuppelt gemessen ? 2- Könnte man sich vorstellen, daß unseriöse Tuner (Ernsthaft nicht für Euch gemeint, ich möchte keiner beleidigen und vor allem nicht Euch, die uns mit eure Videos unterhalten und schulen) während der Schleppmomentmessung leicht auf die Bremse treten könnten ? Sorry, die Frage, ich hatte mich nie getraut es zu stellen... Vielen Dank weiter für Alles was Ihr macht. Gruß
Genau, aus diese Grund ist der MAHA Prüfstand so perfekt und genau. Die Motorleistung bleibt immer reproduzierbar, egal wie viele Messungen gefahren werden und wie das Fahrzeug befestigt wird. Grundsätzlich ist für uns die Leistung des Motors interessant, dafür muss die Verlustleistung gemessen werden. Beispiel: Größere Reifen verursachen eine höhere Verlustleistung von Motor auf Rad = geringere Radleistung obwohl die reine Motorleistung eigentlich identisch ist. In dieses Fall wäre die Radleistung geringer, die Verlustleistung jedoch höher = gleiches Ergebnis bezogen auf die Motorleistung (hoffe ich konnte es einigermaßen gut erklären)
zu 1:
Man möchte durch die Leistungsmessung die reine Radleistung/Motorleistung messen, aus diesem Grund wird die Schleppleistung mit gedrückter Kupplung und eingelegtem Gang gemessen (manuelles Getriebe) Doppelkupplung und Automatik in "N".
zu 2:
Auf einem Diagramm/Grafik sollte immer die Verlustleistung/Schleppleistung angezeigt werden (Grüne Linie auf MAHA Prüfstand) Verlauf der Linie sollte ähnlich zu Serie sein. Wenn auf die Bremse gedrückt wird, würde man einen starken und ausschlagenden Anstieg der Verlust/Schleppleistung sehen.

Will the DQ200 be okay with such power and torque?
DQ200 is safe upto 250nm but can handle more providing you do not keep it at the limits for prolonged periods
You would have thought that race chip who are advertising this product, would have bothered to answer any of the questions asked, but it would appear probably dont want to commit themselves?

Guys can you do a follow up when R line comes out?As the sporty set up may make a difference.
R line won't have an effect on the engine performance but rather the suspension set up, throttle response, et cetera. So for our performance products, there's no need to distinguish between the two versions. Of course for the actual Golf R, it'll be a different story.

Der 150Ps TSI hat nämlich einen Wastegate Lader, wegen den höheren Abgastemperaturen. Der VTG Lader vom 130Ps TSI verträgt nur 850 Grad dauerhaft, der vom 150Ps wegen dem Wastegate über 1000.
Auch unterscheiden sich die Zylinderbeschichtungen der beiden Motoren.
Mir wäre das zu heiß, VW hat sich sicherlich was dabei gedacht, bei den verschiedenen Leistungsstufen unterschiedliche Hardware zu verbauen. Gerade der VTG Lader ist empfindlich, da im Benziner Bereich sehr selten, eben wegen den hohen Temperaturen, denn die Leitschaufeln liegen ja direkt im Abgasstrom.
Haben wir während der Entwicklung ebenfalls gemessen, Serie 725 Grad @ 6000 U/min vs. Tuning 750 Grad @ 6000U/min. Lambda Werte sind ebenfalls nahezu identisch Serie vs. Tuning.
Wir hatten bisher auch noch keine Probleme im Feld mit dem 1.5 TSI, egal ob 96kW oder 110kW
das ist richtig, die kompression ist auch bei den 1.5er mit 96kw deutlich hoeher (12.5:1, also wichtig ist mind. 98oct zu fahren wenn moeglich mit dem chip damit er keine zuendung raushenmen muss), wenn etwas zu hoch gehen sollte, sollte das Steuergeraet alles schon runterdrehen - sorry mein deutsch ist nicht so geil
@@syrconcrete6399falsch es hat ein Miller Zyklus deswegen der hoche Verdichtung, du brauchst Superbenzin wie auch immer.
The 1.5tsi comes in 130hp and 150hp, are they the same engine?
they couldnt be more different, the 130hp has much higher compression, smaller exhaust cams and valves and a different turbo (VTG)

my 1.5 tsi with 10.000 km is full of errors with my racechip,power train ,rpm limit start and stop and many more
what about 1.5 TSI 150HP 250Nm ? how much gain for Stage1 ?

In the video description they said "We managed to increase the performance to 180 HP" so 180HP and 260 Nm of torque (torque info is from video itself)

Don’t waste your money on racechip,I had one on my mk7 golf,made the car go in to limp mode,it’s fine unless you rev over 4 thousand rpm,trust me,look at the reviews on this racechip,you will find thousands of bad reviews,costumer service is not interested in what happens after you pay the money,wait for a company to develop a real map for the car if you are interested in this car,the chips are a waste of money
