It's not about talking and having a say in this or that. A mama mboga does not understand economic complexities like "the non-accelerating inertial rate of inflation" and why that should be a target inflation of a central bank. But she can understand whether she is having lots of customers or not. What we need is a government that is qualified for the work it is expected to do. If you don't know how to run an economy such that it is growing faster than the population growth rate and inflation and why that is important, then you are not qualified to be in government and should step down. It's not about talking and consulting, it's about whether or not you are competent to be in office and if you are, then we need see the evidence of this competence in the rate of poverty eradicating economic growth. It's not the mama mboga to tell you how to grow an economy. She doesn't know how to. That's YOUR job. If you don't know how to do it, then get out.

But there must be dialogue on priorities, timelines, and deadlines of the raft of demands put forward! Just saying "action now" without agreeing on the first action and the order of the rest is tantamount to chaos!
A dialogue would need a report to be done, do you know how many reports are in government's shelves?
@@ngwenoh.e9725 No need for a report. A one page paper on priority and timelines for accountability would do ....and if he fails to meet those timelines, then upscale the demands and occupy wherever!!
@@babmushe am telling you how those systems work, there must be a report that should be prepared and be presented out, that could be 3 or 6 months or even forever, government institution's shelves are littered with reports that might never see light of the day.

The ANC lost momentum back in 1955, when they enacted a Charter declaring, "the land belongs to all those who live in it". 3 years later, Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe broke away and formed the PAC (The Pan Africanist Congress of Azania). The authorities went after the PAC hard because they knew they couldn't be co-opted. They then infiltrated the ANC and began to handpick the sellouts. Back in the mid 90s the Africanist called it- the ANC was compromised and had sold out the people. And there they are today, sitting in a coalition with the DA.

Cyprian has some good points however his take on Kibaki is ignorant to the fact that it was a coalition government meaning sabotage was rife, also the fact that nobody can change an entire mindset of a country in one day. Kibaki delivered all his 5 milestones, even current Gen MZ is a legacy of Kibaki opening up the information space (bringing fiberoptic) education space (free Primary Education) and democratic space by promulgating the new constitution.
