The thing I like most about this vocalist is the confidence she has to allow the song come through instead of mangling the tune the way so many young singers do. Bravo!
Nobody of us ever knew a world without Toots Thielemans, and now that we haven't even begun facing such a world, we feel like a yearling in the spring sun realizing that the world goes on, just as beautifully as it used to. It takes a great interpreter of jazz, a lady like Connie to let us hear the melody still lingers on. Thank you!

What a fine performance by ALL of the musicians. Top Notch and very enjoyable. Yes I enjoyed this lovely Lady's vocals too. Thank you very much for sharing. Cheers, John D.
My favorite person in the band is the gray-haired woman playing the guitar. Let's hear it for musically talented senior citizens!! Seriously. love this song. It has been my favorite since way back in high school. Loved Toots Thielemans.
Una cantante dalla voce bella e ricca di sfumature, che si apprezza tanto dal vivo quanto registrata. L'accompagnamento piacevolissimo, è del tutto all'altezza.
Connie's excellent and uplifting vocal is simply perfect for this tune! The piano solo is also wonderful. This is my favorite version of this tune now, along with the version with Ivan Lins' vocal. Thank you for uploading!
Excellent rendition of the old jazz classic. Connie's style is unique with swinging all the way style. The unison jazz chorus between guitar and flute is super-duper to say the least.
Connie Evingson is an amazing jazz singer out of Anita O' Day type killin swingin jazz singer of the female variety who is beautiful and sings beautify , well she is wonderful.
Connie is a wonderful vocalist. I don't understand the comparison below to Diane Krall. Diane is a wonderful jazz musician, but her vocals take a back seat to Connie.
EXACTLY LIKE YOU MICHAEL .....CONNIE has a large range beautiful tone and she does'nt sing DIANA 's lazy in the nose way that makes me feel she has hot potatoe in her mouth . This band plays wonderfully and the "TUTTI " is a huge beautiful affair !
I may be an outlier, but I find Diana Krall to be vastly overrated; the product of hype, of strategic duetting with more famous vocalists, and of emphasis on glamour. Her actual instrument is slightly above average, but nothing special. If she were a country & western singer, she'd be second-rate; as a jazz vocalist, she's less than first-rate. Indeed, she doesn't really seem to me to have much of a jazz sensibility, as compared to some of her contemporaries like Veronica Swift.
@@thenov1944 -- that's fine, but Krall's stature as a *jazz* vocalist is inflated. She should be described as a "song stylist" or something, like Michael Feinstein. Jazz is a level above that. Listen to someone like Betty Carter or Anita O'Day, or contemporary jazz vocalists like Jazzmeia Horn or Veronica Swift. They use their voices as _instruments_ with which they do things that neither pop singers nor musical instruments can do, and they take a very different and creative approach to phrasing, from pop singers. A counterpart to Michael Feinstein would be someone like Mark Murphy, who was an actual jazz vocalist. th-cam.com/video/QXdyF794Vb0/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/mDF6XAHCLqQ/w-d-xo.html

Great singer and great music.
WOw. Somewhere here on TH-cam I heard iconic Stevie Wonder and Toots Thielemans playing this tune on their harmonicas. IT WAS FABULOUS.
Graceful, easy, creative improvisation makes this really fresh. Inspiring to a fellow vocalist.
Wow
Did not expect that voice and band when searching for a version of Bluesette
Dont forget the audio man. He did great job in this recording. Sounds great.

Danny Embrey on guitar?
I'd like to know the personal and the instrumentation. Is, for instance, one of the guitarists playing a Godin?
Does anyone know the name of the pianist?
Laura Caviani.
This song is a bastard to play....abrupt pitch changes, and sudden increases in bar length, but it is still played to 3/4 beat time..

You can "cheat" the awkward 13th chord by playing it as 6th/7th simultaneously.
