    Raghuram Rajan and Rohit Lamba in conversation with Naushad Forbes | Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Series Jaipur Literature Festival 2024
    Co-authored by Raghuram Rajan and Rohit Lamba, Breaking the Mould: Reimagining India's Economic Future, examines some of the critical and crucial questions surrounding India's economic trajectory. The book proposes a number of strategies for accelerating India's economic development through investment in human capital, expanding opportunities in high-skilled services, and fostering innovative manufacturing of new products. In conversation with Naushad Forbes, they discuss the nuances of India's economic growth while navigating the challenges of being central to a global economy.
    Raghuram G. Rajan is a world-renowned Indian economist who is currently a distinguished service professor at the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business. His past positions include Governor of the Reserve Bank of India and chief economist at the International Monetary Fund. His bestselling books include Fault Lines (winner of the Financial Times Business Book of the Year Award), I Do What I Do, The Third Pillar and Saving Capitalism from the Capitalists (with Luigi Zingales). His numerous awards include the Fischer Black Prize and the Deutsche Bank Prize for financial economics, Euromoney’s Central Banker of the Year award and the Banker’s Global Central Banker Award.
    Rohit Lamba is an assistant professor of economics at Pennsylvania State University and a visiting assistant professor of economics at New York University Abu Dhabi. He received a PhD in economics from Princeton University and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Cambridge. He publishes regularly in leading academic journals and newspapers. He has also worked as an economist at the office of the chief economic adviser to the Government of India.
    Naushad Forbes is Co-Chairman of Forbes Marshall, India's leading Process and Energy Efficiency company. He is Chairman, Ananta Aspen Centre, and Centre for Technology, Innovation and Economic Research (CTIER). He is on the boards of various educational institutions and public companies. He has been an active Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) member, serving as President in 2016-17. He is a founding member of Nayanta University, a full-service university opening in 2024, spearheaded by CII. He has written the book The Struggle and the Promise: Restoring India’s Potential.

    Are you serious? Services are growing anyway. It’s like saying focus on PCB don’t worry about soldering. Services grow as a result of Manufacturing, both aren’t mutually exclusive. One has to understand is that Manufacturing causes services to grow and not the other way round. What’s the point of that MIT and IIM degree? 😅😂
