Very cool! I can't wait to see mine bloom! It put out a small growth with a sheath but it didn't do anything. Maybe needs more time! Let's hope next year! 🤞🤞 it's a phenomenon bloom! Thanks Stephen 😊
One of my viewers asked me if I was going to Brazil with you, since I also mentioned to my viewers that I was traveling soon. I did shout out to you in my video today where I showed my C. Magairlin which bloomed for the first time last week. My plant is small but my flowers has some spots and nice fragrance, and I really like it. It is not as big as yours' but I am still a newbie at this orchid stuff.
That orchid is wonderful! I love the size - everything about it. I'm sure that Paula is thrilled with the division and will get it to bloom. I'm excited that you are going on the trip that you have planned so long for. I can't wait for those videos.
I just wish I lived closer to Brasilia, so I'd go on that field trip too! It is inspiring! You are certainly very welcome and I hope you have a great time while you are here!
@@SVKLOrchids I'm in Taubaté, SP, if you check that on google maps. It is in the Paraíba valley. Land of Catasetum cernuum, Cattleya harisoniae, C. forbesii, Oncidium crispum, O. varicosum, and many more. Unfortunately you will not see any of these outside the reservation parks anymore...
are you wearing a flannel in Texas in August? I decided to test out cedar mulch on some plants and I am shocked by how well they take to it. A Cattleya harrisoniana seedling that has been on the struggle bus has pushed out new roots into it in just two weeks. A Dendrobium has pushed so much new root I may have to repot it in a couple of months, a Vanda hybrid going nuts. If It only lasts a year, who cares? It is so cheap, it doesn't matter, if it makes the plants grow better, I am all for it.
@@SVKLOrchids you know, I have a bad habit of saying cedar, it is Florida Cypress🤣. Honestly it is so finely shredded I was sure it wouldn't work but it does.
Amazing blooms and also how it is blooming with few structures/pseudobulbs. Very excited about your trip as looking forward to all the information and videos from Brazil. Have a safe trip 💝
That Brazil trip sounds like a dream! Hope you enjoy it! Don't forget your rabies shot as well - at least in the larger cities, there are so many stray dogs...
@@MattbyNature Luckily I’ll be in the middle of nowhere! I now have typhoid and yellow fever vaccines coursing through me, plus malaria pills! Seems like a lot of protection lol
Really nice primary, I had the chance to get one recently but I just got so much lately, I did get a hardyana seeking so that might be cool. Trip to Brazil sounds awesome, I have been to Diamantina in 2002, I didn't know much about ridiculous laelias back then though unfortunately 😂
I don't recall seeing any off color comments! TH-cam has a really weird commenting system though. I really don't understand it, but it deletes a lot of comments. I wish it would let me review the comments it wants to delete. I'd probably keep most of them.
@@richardlawton1023 Ya, its really glitchy. TH-cam is also really difficult to deal with behind the scenes as well, when uploading videos. You'd think they would have figured all this stuff out by now!
