    All in all it depends on what you are looking for in terms of sound. Myself I've had a 350z with Resonated pipes that was just loud, then a G coupe with FI high flow cats that were amazing not too loud but on high RPMS you could here that VQ roar with my Q I plan on getting the high flow cats. Highly recomennded if you dont want it too loud!

    One of the problems with AWD models is that we don't have many ypipes to choose from. Megans y pipes are one of only a few that are sold that fit the 07-08 xfer case.

    Great vid. First time watching. HFC is the only way I roll. A.) sounds better B.) when I road race the test pipes won’t work in time attack and street classes as the dB levels are too high C.) for NA, and people who drive their car on a track/autoX HFC will give you more mid-range punch where it matters coming out of corners.
    Test pipes vs. HFC... 2hp difference.... Whoopie doo.... Product plug: Z1 Motorsports HFC has the o2 bungs that have that Stillen looking mid already in it. 2 years running them, and never once thrown a code. Passed emissions here in TX no problem. HFC all the way.

  • @N1CKL337
    @N1CKL337 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Its very unfair to say all test pipes have rasp, the rasp is completely dependent on the exhaust you're running. The OEM exhaust will rasp extremely loud with test pipes, if you have a decent catback your car will sound so much better with test pipes than hfcs, it'll perform better too.

    • @BoostInMotion
      @BoostInMotion  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rasp is usually associated with aftermarket y pipes also. But most of the rasp increases after you install test pipes

    You speaking facts bro. I have a motordyne exhaust and it sounds good with the art pipes but now that it’s cold in upstate ny the sound is kinda getting to me and becoming annoying probably gonna switch them out to berk hfc. Can you verify that in ny you can pass inspection with test pipes as long as your car isn’t throwing a code ?

    • @BoostInMotion
      @BoostInMotion  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In New York City we don't have inspectors I look at the catalytic converters all they do is check the visual in the sense of tail lights and turn signals. And that you have no codes

    I live in NY too!!! I currently have a sport muffler kit by Infiniti on my 3.7 q50S . I’m thinking about test pipes/ high flow cats and a full muffler delete. I was wondering what are your thoughts and if I should do it. I also want to pass inspection

    • @BoostInMotion
      @BoostInMotion  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      New York isn't strict on catalytic converter modifications.
      But I would always recommend high flow cats. Because you'll have a less likely chance of getting any check engine lights.
      Also muffler delete makes your car sound like a GTR but it comes with a lot of drone

  • @EatMyPropwash
    @EatMyPropwash 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have to correct you in something.... resonated test pipes. The purpose of a resonator is NOT to eliminate rasp in the exhaust. It’s to reduce the exhaust sound in the car. My ‘16 NISMO 370Z will tell your that. Nobody smart will ever say “I got resonated test pipes to get rid of rasp”. If they do... pimp slap them. Also, the ART pipes are for sound, but mainly for exhaust scavenging.

  • @dr8644
    @dr8644 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Stay away from from all test pipes. They will make your Nissan/Infiniti sound like garbage. Rasp for days. Wether you have stock exhaust w/ tp or aftermarket w/ tp it’s going to sound terrible. And with test pipes your car will smell like 💩. Just idling my car it stunk up like a 20ft radius. If you want more sound just get a cat back or axle back.

The car as is without the high flow cats rides like butter and no check engine lights at all, plus it sounds a lot better. Normally people go for the g35 and 37 so you, "I", never see a modified m35. I'm 30 and most people that own a m35 are in their 40's 50's, I love pulling up next to them they see and hear my car then I dip on him😆 Fun car to drive even tho it wasn't meant to be a sporty car like the G series.
