    You don't need to stand in that line if you want to visit the Louvre. You can skip the line by using an underground entrance to a shopping mall that is connected to the Louvre underground. So just walk through the mall, buy some Starbucks or a souvenir and head on over to the museum! :-)

      Basically, there's a shopping center under the Louvre and you can access the museum from there. It's called the Caroussel du Louvre Shopping Centre and the entrance is 99 rue de Rivoli.
      upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/ae/Le_Caroussel_du_Louvre%2C_galerie_commerciale_n3.jpg/800px-Le_Caroussel_du_Louvre%2C_galerie_commerciale_n3.jpg
      You still have to queue inside to get to the actual museum but you skip the first queue on the Cour Napoleon upstairs (the Pyramid place). There's also another entrance, Porte des Lions where you don't have to queue as much but you start at the extreme end of the museum (closed on Friday and late afternoon/night)
      There are two bad ass halls where you wanna go check out some sculptures: the Cour Marly and Cour Puget. Looks like this:
      upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/52/Paris_-_The_Musee_Du_Louvre_main_hall_by_night_-_2884.jpg
      and...
      l7.alamy.com/zooms/b94459112109449cb4a3f26be597351b/cour-puget-louvre-museum-paris-france-exx4rx.jpg
      The museum is closed on Tuesday and you wanna avoid weekends (especially the first Sunday of the month when it's free) and Wednesday before 18h00, the three busiest days of the week. Also Mondays might be dodgy because many other museums are closed that day.
      The best days and times are weekday mornings and the Wednesday "nocturne" when the museum is opened till late (18h00 to 22h00). The least busy time is Thursday morning.

    I love Paris. The louvre could easily eat up your day and i wouldn't recommend rushing it. In my personal opinion, the only two museums you need to visit if you only have two days in Paris are the Louvre and Notre Dame. They are within walking distance or you can easily take the subway :). Also fun fact about the louvre if you were to look at every painting for 30 seconds it would take you about 2 years to see every painting.

      Notre Dame is a functioning Cathedral, not a museum. Also, beware of pickpockets there, especially if you look like a tourist. The first time we went there were little kids that would hand you a postcard (in English) saying they were starving and could you give them money while an adult would pickpocket you. The last time there were girls trying to get you to sign clipboards as the distraction. Basically try to look French and don’t get distracted.
      I’ve been to the Louvre a few times and it’s a much better experience if you plan the highlights you want to see rather than trying to see everything. Not sure it would take 2 years, but it’s got over 8 miles of art, so yeah, not exactly they kind of thing you do in a day. They do have maps online, exactly like the ones they have at the Louvre, and you can print it out and plan your highlights. The last time we went we were only there for 3 hours and saw everything we really wanted to see! I also saw the tip about using the mall entrance...that’s exactly right! Easiest and fastest way to get in!
      Also, one of the best touristy things we did was to take a Seine lunch cruise....it was about €60 for 3 hours and the food was great and you get to see a lot of Paris highlights, plus drink amazing wine!

    As a French (but not Parisian-born), my favorite museum in Paris is Quai Branly, near the Eiffel Tower. It mostly focuses on traditional African/Oceanic art. Absolutely stunning and inspiring. If you ever intent a larger trip abroad France, I recommend cities such as Strasbourg (in the North East), Bordeaux, Toulouse, Lyon, Bretagne region... there is many others to mention but Strasbourg is my favorite.

    Just got back from my Paris trip as a solo lady traveler! Finally! I've got to see the Eiffel Tower, Sainte Chappelli, Louvre, La Opera and so on.. I guess I am very lucky, so far all the people I've come across with are all nice to me- to mention vendors of crepes near Eiffel Tower, Big Bus Drivers and operators.. I love Paris, I will definitely come back again and will advice my friends to try traveling alone. I guess that its very safe its just how you handle yourself.. But I just noticed that there are a lot of construction going on, some museum or tourist attraction are close...

    The 69 & 42 bus routes are a cheaper and better option than the hop on hop off bus especially in winter. Great clip though very informative. Another suggestion would be a walking /café tour of the left bank - the best part of Paris.

    Roseanne, I was only there for one full day in early seventies, no hotel space or miles due to International Business Exposition. Crossed the Chanel in the ferry, met two students living in Paris on crossing, from Corfu, studying Hotel Management at the Sorbonne, I think. We had gruel with them there, and a friend located a room for overnight only kept special for hoteliers. We got wine and walked to Moulin Rouge, and around the corner to Pigalle, I think it was called. Oh, we ate at a Vietnamese Restaurant built into the stones of a bridge crossing the Seine. Up early, Left Bank, Notre Dame from outside, Mona Lisa and train to Amsterdam. The only time we used the Eurail Pass, alas. So, next time you go, please try the Musee D'Orsay as it was not built when we were there.

    The Paris Museum Pass is a much better deal than the Paris Pass. If you combine the Paris Museum pass with the Navigo Decouverte transportation pass you save around $100 depending on the number of days. With the savings you can purchase an admission ticket to any of the sites not included in the Paris Museum pass and still save money. Do your own comparison and I believe you will see the difference.

    The Paris Pass is WAY expensive for what you get. Many if not most people will do just fine with the Paris Museum pass which is much less expensive and does almost all of the things the Paris Pass does. Compare them both to see which is better for you. Also check out the Paris Navigo Decouverte card for your public transportation needs.

      How hot or cold is Paris during the months from mid-June to September?

    • @mega77
      @mega77 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, that's a whole season. Really depends of the climate of the year, but in general summer isn't too hot or cold in Paris.
      Most of the time the temperatures are set beetween 15°C and 35°C max in Paris during summer (the temperatures are generally higher in July/August).
      Like I said Paris isn't particulary hot or cold, most of the time the temperature will be shifting beetween 18°C and 30°C.
      In comparaison the south of France is hotter and sunnier in summer (from 25°C to 40°C during this time of the year in general)

    • @TheArtObsessed
      @TheArtObsessed 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      -3c? lol that is not cold at all, chilly, but not cold. -20c to -50c here in Canada. Where I live currently it averages -25c. Where I grew up it averaged -25c to -40c. Lots of ice storms. Literally put on your skates and skate down the street. 8 months of snow and ice. And that is not even as bad as more northern countries.

    La forma más rápida para conocer París en 2 días es tomar el mirabus que te lleva por los lugares más importantes tiene la ventaja de bajarte tomarte fotos pasearte por ahí y cada 15 minutos con tu mismo ticket pasa otro bus de la misma línea y puedes subir cuando tú quieras con el mismo ticket . Hay ticket 1 y 2 días es mejor tomar 1 dia. El château de Versailles de fuera de París no es el mirabus Es un tren se llama RER C tomas metro Saint michael hay uno que va directo sin parar en las estaciones y hay otro que para en cada estación.

And, did you people have prior knowledge about pickpockets in there or you just experienced it yourself first hand. I mean i am from India and these days pickpockets are fast disappearing in India. So i find it hard to believe that there are pickpockets in Paris.
