Imho most eq mistakes come from incorrect balancing. It's easier to apply correct eq if the basic balance is good.

Use of Visual (Spectrum Analyzed) EQ's are murder for novice mixers and many intermediate mixers.. Mostly too many Bell notches, Q's often too narrow. Most tracks only need a little bit of a broad shelf Hi/Low, and maybe some mild high pass. A little bit of tilt eq before anything can get the job done much of the time.

i kinda take it personally when he lists the mistakes, mistake number 1, i go "eek thats me" mistake number 2 "i know i know im working on it" etc. I produce edm, mid-tempo, psy-trance, house, etc. so id like to think when the time comes to having my music on big speaker systems where the mix is crucial, I will have the means to send my stems to professionals for them to take care of the mix and master

Bro I’ve made ALL the mistakes myself, that’s the only way I can see them as mistakes 👍🏽

This is not about mixing but how do I increase my vocal range from G5 to A5 in singing. lol

I’m no vocal coach, but you’ll def need to do singing exercises every day, even just 10 min/day will help a lot. And learn about how to breathe correctly as a singer, that’s huge

@@lovesciencemusicThe guy is asking how to increase his vocal rage by two semitones. I’d hope a Berklee professor could recognize a troll…

YOU'RE MORE OF THEORIES NOT IN PRACTICAL. IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE EXPERIENCE AND WHAT THEY DO TO MAKE THEIR SONG GREAT..VST COMING OUT EVERYDAY IS THE KILLER OF OUR YOUNG GENERATION MUSIC ENGINEERS. I UNDERSTAND YOUR VIEWS AND POINTS.. BUT ITS TOO LATE FOR THIS GENERATION OF AI ENGINEERS 😂😂😂

@lovesciencemusic For me it isnt that..I have spend 16years 7hours..everyday to lean VSTS trust me there are some Vst you may not even know.. but the thing is that these companies dont create VSTS that are universally adaptable to audio work flows ..audio could have been more promising if companies create templates and mix buses ..and master chains with the professionals and make it bundle packs for people ..but they are profit making in rebranding VSTS everyday ..AI is good but it can be better if it's a solution at the right places in audio .. equalizer to compression should be human decision..why Ai should be a master or mixbus judge..
