Hi Doc, ch 60 Minutes Australia has two excellent vds on the dangers of these Rx weight loss drugs. They expose the major risk including death. Worth your time.
Thanks for all that you do to educate all of us.

For anyone on here considering Ozempic, please know that although it worked with my insulin resistance and great weight loss, (was weighing 93 pounds). it landed me in an emergency room with horrible pains, which ended up being a stomach obstruction. I had to have a hole cut on my right side and a hepatic drain leading to a biliary drain 12 x 12 bag, which I had to drain several times a day. If that doesn't scare you, an ex-employee passed quickly from Thyroid cancer and recently, a good friend temporarily lost her vision in one eye. Please don't do it. Thanks, Dr. Hampton for doing this.

I'm overweight. Have a slow thyroid and fatty liver. Post menopause. Saw a cardiologist for the first time to find out if my heart was ok because I had some pain on and off. I have a small hiatal hernia which can cause chest pain on and off. This doctor looked at me and offered me Ozempic right away. Mind you we had just met. He didn't have labs on me, nor was he aware of my issues. I politely declined and he kept pushing it. Also wanted to put me on high blood pressure meds because my pressure was high. Another side effect of thyroid and liver issues. Guess who never went back for a follow up?

I am in the same situation. My doctor pushing Ozempic. I wont do it, I know there is another solution. It's more likely to take a combo of several things for me. One is Keto diet for sure, close to carnivore, second is to take back control of my thyroid, years ago I was on Natural Thyroid (Armour thyroid) and did way better, I need both T3 and T4 to feel better and be able to lose weight. Looking back, I think I was switched to Levothyroxine because my doctor had ties to that particular pharmaceutical company and was probably making money if he switched me. 3rd is being mindful of my Sleep and stress and doing some form of excercise at least 4 times a week for 1 hr. Sadly I go to my new doctor who I actually really like, but I know I have to be in charge of my own health solutions if I truly want to look and feel my best.

The side effects of these drugs are horrible. Glad you are offering alternatives to help people heal. It takes time, we want solutions over night, however, obesity can be decades of bad habits and eating the food pyramid. The more I followed the food pyramind and propaganda the scale kept going up. Thankful to all the youtube drs for having the courage to offer something different to us, obesity leads to desperation.

Risks? The biggest risk of a drug is that it WILL be profitable for big pharmaceutical companies. Profitable drugs will be pushed despite the fact that they don’t work, they haven’t been tested and have horrible side effects. Rx are about $$$, not health. 😡

So true, Dr. I was at a family 🎄 party last Sat. The wife of my Godson has lost 85 lbs, but using one of those drugs. I heard she posts of her "transformation" on FB. I'm 72 and since 2019, Keto, now Ketovore with daily Intermittent Fasting, 18-20 hours. Also OMAD some days. I've gone from XL+ to Petite Med/Small. I told her I've never gotten on a scale, just know by my clothes. I also exercise daily including lifting weights.
We had a nice conversation about my journey. I tell people, because of the way I eat, I don't spend alot of $ on groceries.
I went out to eat and read yesterday at 2 pm.
I had 8 pieces of bacon, that was my main meal and was satiated till this morning. Didn't even think of eating.
I drank lemon water last night.
I also do ACV in AM and at night.
We can do this tho older. 🙏 💪 ♥

These drugs are helpful to diabetics. Two of my relatives, both diabetic, have gotten their A1C number down to 5.0 while on the GLP-1 agonist drugs.
But for weight loss, I see that most people regain the lost weight once they have quit using the drugs. I have lost weight through changing my eating to cut out sugar, high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, white flour, vegetable/seed oils, artificial additives, and other ultra processed foods.
Then I add whole vegetables and fruits especially those with anti-inflammatory properties, minimally processed meats, nuts and seeds, beans and legumes, whole fat dairy, and minimal whole grains.
I am coming to the conclusion that if you cut out the ultra processed junk, it almost won't matter whether you use the carnivore, clean keto, plant based, Mediterranean, anti-inflammatory, minimalist, or any other diet. That's because you will be much healthier than you were when you were eating the Standard American Diet that is filled with ultra processed stuff.

Perfect time for this video , I wear the G7 watching how my body Sugars reacts to food eaten ( I'm Ketovore ) . I exercise !
Also off of a handful of meds that I was taking twice daily and I was smart enough and listen to my body and realized it was my meds that were rapidly declining my health !
Ive been working myself off Monjarvo for a few months now and down to the
2.5 mg Monjarvo and now it's time to completely stop taking this medication and I've worked hard to be confident to do so ! Last week was my last dose and my Sugars are still at normal A1c 5.7 .

As it relates to your question
Yes, a supplement combining choline with inositol can be a good option, as both nutrients support metabolic health. Choline is vital for liver function, fat metabolism, and brain health, while inositol may help with insulin sensitivity and hormonal balance. However, check the dosage to ensure it’s appropriate, and consult with your healthcare provider to confirm it’s suitable for your specific needs.

Thank you! I tried not to waste too much time being angry about all of the bad advice we have been given over the decades! I’m thrilled to finally be on the right track and can’t even express how much easier this was than the time I lost over 100 lbs counting calories and exercising like a maniac. Then I tried to become vegan and gained back 68 lbs in 3 months! 😮 I felt like I was in quicksand. I didn’t even put it together for the longest time! I just blamed myself. Weight loss with keto and fasting is just so natural! There’s no way I will ever go back. I’ve got enough dirty keto hacks to keep me sustainable even if I go off course a bit. TH-cam has been an insanely helpful resource! I’m just now finding this doctor and so excited to see what else I can do 😊

Dr. Hampton, this was a great video, and having worked almost two decades in the pharmaceutical industry, I’m grateful you are directing people to not just alternatives, but in my opinion far better routes. I do have one suggestion, in the world of neurology and psychiatry, a big pet peeve is when people, especially physicians, say “All-Timers” versus “Alzheimer’s”. I’m saying that with all due respect, only because it will only enhance your credibility.

    • @DrTonyHampton
      @DrTonyHampton  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +20

For a 62-year-old female looking to support weight loss and metabolic health naturally, the best supplement to start with would depend on individual health conditions, but here’s a general recommendation:
Start with Berberine. Why: Berberine is a powerful natural compound that mimics some of the effects of GLP-1 drugs. It can help regulate blood sugar levels, improve insulin sensitivity, and support weight loss by enhancing metabolic health. It’s particularly effective for individuals with insulin resistance or prediabetes.
      • How to use: The typical dose is 500 mg, taken two to three times per day with meals to avoid gastrointestinal discomfort.
      Optional Second Choice:
If you’re experiencing hormone-related weight changes or struggle with sugar cravings, Inositol is another excellent option. It’s particularly helpful for women dealing with post-menopausal symptoms or metabolic syndrome.
      • Always consult your healthcare provider before starting any supplement, especially if you’re taking medications or have underlying health conditions.

    • Natural supplements for GLP-1-like effects:
    • Berberine: How it enhances glucose metabolism and promotes weight loss.

Nice video. All these recommendations possibly work if you don't already have digestive issues. From the exercise to the diets to the fasting to the supplements have been ineffective for me because everything just sits in my stomach and ferments. Exercising with a full stomach leads to vomiting, it's not fun. The intermittent fasting messed up my metabolism so food moves even slower. And surgery nor the GLP -1 meds are an option due to further exacerbation of current digestive issues. Hope this works for someone.

Allulose is a low-calorie sugar that doesn’t spike blood sugar or insulin. It may promote fat loss and enhance GLP-1 secretion, aiding appetite control. While beneficial for metabolic health, overuse can cause digestive discomfort, so moderation is key.

      1. Look for Third-Party Testing
      • Choose brands that have their products tested by independent labs for purity, potency, and safety. Look for certifications like NSF Certified, USP Verified, or ConsumerLab Approved on the label.
      2. Prioritize Transparency
      • Reputable brands provide detailed ingredient lists and avoid unnecessary fillers, artificial colors, or additives. They also disclose where and how their supplements are manufactured.
      3. Check for Active Ingredients and Bioavailability
      • For Berberine, look for a product with 500 mg per capsule and minimal fillers. Some brands may combine berberine with complementary ingredients like cinnamon or milk thistle to enhance absorption.
      • For Inositol, brands that offer a combination of Myo-Inositol and D-Chiro Inositol in a 40:1 ratio (similar to the body’s natural ratio) are ideal.
      4. Recommended Brands
      • For Berberine, brands like Thorne Research, Pure Encapsulations, and Integrative Therapeutics are often well-regarded for quality.
      • For Inositol, products like NOW Foods Inositol Powder or Ovasitol by Theralogix

Eating low fat inhibits the absorbtion of the fat soluble vitamins (especially vitamin D and B12), low fat soluble vitamins leads to high cholesterol, high cholesterol leads to statins. Isn't it easier to just eat animal fat? Animal fats have a lot more nutrious vitamins and minerals than vegetable oils.
